My office ordered a bunch of sandwiches for the office. I had the muffuletta and it was VERY good. The olive spread and the sun dried tomatoes were incredible!! The bread was fantastic as well. My co-worker got the Super Hero. This is the only reason I was hesitant to rate this a 5. There was way too much meat and the bread was barely there. Half of the meat was hanging out of the side. If they out half of the meat in, it would be very different. Overall, big portions and great bread. I would recommend this place to anyone in town. read more

Used to order during work. Some of the soups are great, eggplant parm sandwich and muffuletta are good!! Might be the best muffuletta in New York. Peanut butter cookies are great. May of my co-workers liked the tuna, but never tried as I thought it was repulsive to eat at work! Salads are fresh and OK..could used more toppings and same as the standard sandwiches. Maybe I just got sick of eating their food all the time. Their customer service was atrocious and you had to fax orders...yes fax!!! Zuppa has sick lunch food. Seriously soooo good. I absolutely love the Turkey BLT. The bread is so crispy and delicious. Fresh ingredients. NOTE: The people who own/ work at Zuppa are operating on a different level. Don't be surprised for quirky service, weird questions, maybe even a little awkward. Zuppa is a short drive from a few nearby business parks. Located on Sweethome past North French, it's tucked away from the main stretch but still pretty accessible and you don't need to worry about traffic during the lunch hour. Zuppa is your stop for takeout, as they only have one very small table inside with two chairs. When I stopped in for lunch, there wasn't a line but a few people were coming in to pickup their take-out orders. Speaking of take-out, you can call in an order however the restaurant prefers orders by fax. Since I didn't have a menu, I decided to stop in to order and I got one of the specials, the small "Chicken bacon Swiss hot pepper melt" for $7.50+tax. The large sandwich costs $11.95. The sandwich was very tasty and the quality of the ingredients were really good too - they used big pieces of breaded chicken, large slices of bacon, and lots of melty cheese. :) My only criticism was the price, I just felt it was a little steep for just a sandwich, however if it was a dollar more and came with chips and a pop, I wouldn't have complained. read more

Don't come here expecting to have a nice sit down meal, but do come to grab your take out soup / pizza's / deli etc during your work week. I came and ordered the Louisiana Shrimp Gumbo here and at $5-6, it was a pretty pricey bowl of soup so my expectations were high. On top of that, I had to wait like 20 minutes for it, so I guess they may not even have them pre-made or they just decided to make an example out of me because I was a little indecisive when I came in here (never been here before, asked some questions, etc). Despite the long wait, the soup was one of the most delicious soups I've ever had. Perfectly seasoned, hearty, savory and downright delectable. It came with what seemed to be freshly baked bread as well, so nom nom nom is all I can really say. Even writing about it now, my longing for some warm soup from them has returned, but alas I live too far away! This place is mostly for catering / delivery to local businesses and I guess they still use fax machines, which is a little weird (who has a fax anymore??), but don't be fooled; their soups (and I'm sure all of their menu) is delicious. read more

Been going to Zuppa for years, consistently fantastic food prepared on site and available for take-out. Sometimes, I crave their chicken noodle soup, a staple on the menu, it's so good (made with spaghetti pasta) and a comfort food, always served with a homemade roll. They have salads, soups, hero sandwiches, and for those who love the New Orleans fave, muffuletta, can't beat Zuppa. Call ahead and your order will be ready for pick up, all packaged up for no-spill travel back home or to the office. It's worth noting that you can see the kitchen team working together when you stop in. The faces are familiar in an era of high turnover, surely part of the success of Zuppa in Amherst. The food here is so good! The split pea soup is so hearty and delicious. With the cold weather here I can eat this every day! Have tried several sandwiches and salads and always have an amazing experience. Their croutons and bread are homemade and delicious! So far, I've only had their tuna salad, protein salad and baked chicken salad - all are delicious and served to you as a large portion. Serving the land north of the UB campus and the plethora of office parks thereabouts, Zuppa has the deli scene cornered. Zuppa serves Italian/American fare for take out only: soups, sandwiches and salads, pasta dishes and don't forget the flatbreads- one of which is named "soup nazi." Zuppa uses very fresh ingredients including wonderful crusty rolls and impeccably fresh veggies. Orders are never wrong, unless you placed it incorrectly. When I worked nearby my favorites were the pecan chicken salad served with real cheddar and a generous handful of nuts; spicy chicken flatbread topped with jalapeno rings; or the buffalo chicken mac and cheese. (Say that over in your head. Buffalo chicken, mac and cheese.) Coworkers rave about the chicken Caesar salad and Italian sandwiches including the trifecta of meats and known collectively as the mulfetta. They deliver lunch before 2p.m. and require you fax your order to eliminate errors. Zuppa, Italian for "soup", offers SO much more than the name suggests. They also offer a wide variety of salads, sandwiches and pasta dishes along with varying daily specials of each. They bake their homemade rolls daily. I repeat, THEY. BAKE. THEIR. ROLLS. DAILY!! They are perfectly crusty on the outside and as light and fluffy as air on the interior. I have gone in a few times for just a toasted (warmed) roll with butter. As far as their soup goes, I've only tried the cream of broccoli so far. It was hearty, but not too rich and absolutely delicious. In place of tiny, pulverized bits of broccoli there were huge broccoli florets nearly as wide as the to-go container they were served in. The broccoli itself still had a nice bite to it, which as a broccoli lover, suited me well. The chicken parmesan sandwich is also a great option. There was a hefty amount of chicken packed onto one of their homemade rolls. The breaded chicken was seasoned well, with a nice little spicy kick to it. The "small" sandwich is a great value for $6.35, plus tax. It took me from hungry to full AND I still had some leftover! But I must admit, what keeps me coming back 2-3 times a week is the breakfast sandwich served on their homemade roll. Damn. It is perfect. I get a bacon, egg and cheese with double bacon. These days any place that serves coffee offers a breakfast sandwich, but I haven't had any in the area quite as good. No component of the sandwich ever sees a microwave. The eggs are fried fresh to order and seasoned with salt (?) and pepper. The bacon is always crispy, and has never been grisly or chewy. The cheese is always perfectly melted and the price is right. But be advised, they stop serving their breakfast sandwiches at 9:30 am sharp, so set those alarm clocks - set 5 alarm clocks if you're like me! Some customers have had less than positive experiences?!? I have never had a bad experience here, either from service or the quality of food. Marge, the co-owner and head cook, is incredibly friendly and is always quick to pass on my order to Keith, the other owner and cook. He prepares my morning delight and typically cashes me out. He has always been pleasant along with the other cashier, Vickie. In the waiting area there is a small table along with a few chairs, mainly for customers picking up their food. They do a bulk of their business catering local office lunches, so if you plan on giving them a try I'd recommend coming in a little before or after. You can also call or fax your order in if you're in a rush. They strongly prefer that you fax your order to ensure accuracy but I have never been yelled at or kicked out for not faxing hehe. They are open from 8am-3pm Monday - Friday and are closed on the weekend. Zuppa also offers delivery to businesses after 10am. My friend and I used to look forward to Fridays because that meant it was both payday and the day to order the massive Greek salad from Zuppa. We would sit at our desks messaging each other as we started the journey that is eating a salad from here. Fresh ingredients and deliciously crusty rolls the likes of which I haven't been able to find elsewhere are what makes the Best Salad in WNY. I'm not even kidding. Anyway, their sandwiches are amazing--also on the aforementioned rolls--as well as everything else on their menu. I no longer work at the establishment that allowed me those glorious Zuppa Fridays but today I am reliving the joy that is the greek salad. If you're in the greater Getzville area, definitely give it a try. Don't expect to sit down, there's two old chairs and a tiny table. If you're ordering from a business, fax it in. I think Zuppa has some of the best lettuce in Buffalo, it is always very green and never wilted. Not like some places where you order a salad and your disappointed at the quality. The salads always come with a fresh baked in house roll. I usually get the pecan chicken salad with no olives. Although I also very highly suggest the small veggie burger. The atmosphere is absolutely no frills, and the owner has a reputation. And. This is the BEST damn soup in town, all topped off with a crusty homemade roll of supreme yumminess. We paid about 13 bucks for a barley mushroom, which came in a herbacious and light broth, and a chicken cheddar broccoli which came complete with a take no prisoners attitude. This place should be shut down by the Department of Health! I stopped in today to grab a quick soup and sandwich to take back to the office. The open kitchen area had 3 workers none of them were wearing hair nets or hats. The young lady preparing my sandwich was wearing gloves however, the gentleman standing next to her did not have on gloves while handling food. He also took a piece of Romaine lettuce, took a bite out of it, and placed it on the my sandwich the young lady was making!! I was not sure I really saw that happen! I was speechless. I returned to the office, pulled the sandwich apart and sure enough I found a smaller piece of lettuce with a bite mark taken out of it! The NYS Department of health will be visiting on my behalf!!! read more

i'll give them 1 star for the food but the people who run this place and the people they employ are sub-standard....and that's being nice!! they used to come to our company 2x a week as a lunch service until this one day when their person showed up and refused to wait a couple more minutes so some people could quickly run down to grab lunch...literally we asked him to please wait 2 minutes.....he blew up at our receptionist....yelling and swearing that he had places to be and stormed out. when we called zuppa's to tell them what he did, the manager wouldn't take our calls or return them!!! and then they had the nerve to cancel our weekly service!!!! like it was our fault for their horrible service!! i don't care how good their food is, this establishment has rude unprofessional people running it and employed there, with absolutely no concern for their customers and i refuse to support any business like that. this establishment needs to figure out what's important when running a business...your customers and not your degenerate disrespectful employees! read more
