We came here after seeing an ad offering 3 lobsters and 2 sides for $51. We were informed by our waiter, Matt, that we wouldn't be able to share this dinner, which is the reason for the 4 stars. We ordered clam chowder, clams casino, and lobster rolls. We received very good service from Matt, and he informed us that they could make the lobster roll on a gluten free bun, provided by Kith and Kin. The clams casino were tasty, well seasoned, and delicious. The lobster rolls were served just as described on the menu, and we both needed to season with salt, pepper, and mayonnaise. The gluten free roll was very good. Matt was an attentive server and kept my loganberry refills coming. We had such a fun evening at 2 Forks Up! I had no idea what to expect. Since we had a special occasion to celebrate, I decided to make a reservation, and I'm glad I did. But let's start from the beginning--briefly, I promise. An idea for a quick getaway came up, a flight to Maine for lobster. However, reality turned out differently, and this time we couldn't make it happen. We still wanted lobster for our special dinner. 2 Forks Up looked like the perfect spot - very laid-back, simple, without any unnecessary frills. In addition, "born in Maine, the owner, always dreamed of bringing what made his home-state special somewhere new. Luckily for locals, his compass led him in the direction of Western New York". Lucky us! :) It was only late Tuesday afternoon, and the restaurant's parking lot was surprisely packed already. A great sign, right? The host was very pleasant and offered us well-wishes for our special occasion (I mentioned it when making the reservation). That was very nice. Unfortunately, they gave us the table facing the servers' station. I couldn't believe we had been assigned it. Someone else might not mind it at all, but I am particularly sensitive to my surroundings. Maybe it was a punishment for being ten minutes late for the reserved time slot :)? Fortunately, changing tables was not a problem, although the dining room was already almost completely full with guests. Our server, Colleen, was the best! She was really nice, friendly and professional. We knew we came for 'Lobster Dinner'. For appetizers, we ordered a 'Dozen Steamers' (a dozen clams steamed and served with lemon, butter and a roll). It was a tasty treat, but I wouldn't order it again. These clams were exceptionally small. The 'Lobster Dinner', two whole Maine lobsters were served with coleslaw (not my favorite, but still good), vegetable (corn) and butter. There weren't any specials offered that day. The restaurant, or at least the largest dining room we were in, had an unusual, exotic atmosphere. I liked the high wooden ceiling with its rotating fans. It had a truly chilling vibe. Not sure what to add. We had a great time over dinner, but I mentioned it already:). Our lobsters looked perfect and tasted delicious. We got messy. Good time! I felt truly welcomed. This place has went downhill. Smells like old rotten seafood shells as soon as you walk in the door. Had a reservations for 630 and we did not get seated until 715. Food took 1 hour and 15 minutes to come out. The drinks kept running out because they are understaffed on waitresses. There were many disgruntled people there. The desert case looked very unclean when you walked in the door. The menu is so large it more than likely complicates the kitchen. How many minutes does it take to make a lobster? Needless to say we walked in at 630 and did not leave until 930 on a Thursday night. Do not believe step up Buffalo! A suggestions to the business owners! Simplify the menu, your lobster is good! The owner reached out and asked if I was put on the rain check list, I wasn't so he added us. I had lobster tacos and they were just okay, nothing special and sort of chewy. I usually come here and have a great experience, which is why this visit was especially disappointing. This past Saturday , we had a waitress named Alyssa, and unfortunately, the entire experience was unpleasant. It all started when my wife noticed a piece of lint floating in her drink and politely asked for a new one. From that point on, Alyssa's attitude completely changed. She was rude, disrespectful, and made several smart remarks throughout the rest of our visit. Her tone and overall attitude made us feel uncomfortable, as if asking for a replacement drink was somehow an inconvenience. We understand that mistakes happen, and we weren't upset about the drink itself. What was upsetting was the way we were treated afterward. There was absolutely no reason for the disrespect or attitude, especially when the request was made politely. I've come here multiple times and have normally had good experiences, so it was disappointing to leave feeling this way. Hopefully this was an isolated incident, but management should be aware of how Alyssa interacted with customers because her behavior really took away from what should have been an enjoyable experience. I also want to acknowledge that my wife has previously left positive comments and had good experiences at this restaurant, which is why we have continued to come back. I also want to be fair and acknowledge that I did request a different steak after the one I ordered wasn't to my liking. However, that does not justify the attitude, negativity, or disrespect we received from the waitress. As a customer, I should be able to respectfully address an issue with my food without being treated differently or made to feel like I'm being difficult. A simple request for a replacement should not result in poor service or an unpleasant interaction. read more

The food was absolutely great! I ordered the crab legs and got six for $51 which is honestly a steal considering the quality and portion size. They were fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The only thing that would've made this a full five-star experience for me is a tea candle butter warmer. Having warm butter throughout the meal really elevates crab legs, and that small touch would've taken everything to the next level. The place itself isn't fancy, but that's completely okay. Some of the best food comes from spots that focus more on flavor than décor, and this is definitely one of those places. I'd happily come back for the crab legs again! read more

We saw a video about this place on Step Out Buffalo, and decided that we needed to go while we were in town. It's definitely a fun restaurant! Their specialty is seafood and they are known for lobster rolls. The restaurant is in what looks like an old house, so we did drive right by. The parking lot was packed when we arrived, and for pretty good reason! Highly recommend making a reservation - the parking lot was full and so was the dining room. We had a reservation for 6:30 on a Saturday and were seated right away. Obviously, we were getting seafood. The menu is moderately sized, with some raw but mostly cooked options. Steamed are New England style, plain with butter. I chose steamed crab legs. They were priced fair, and I thought the meat was good quality! it was 6 legs in the serving, with 2 sides, so a generous portion. I appreciated the kitchen shears that they provided, it's how we do it at home! My date had surf and turf, and had no complaints, but did claim to be "stuffed". We also had tiramisu, which was delicious! The vibe is pretty laid back for a seafood restaurant, and there were big groups having a good time. read more

I don't know why this restaurant gets such low reviews. We've never had a bad meal here. I came here for the 3 main lobster dinner for $49. The lobsters ,as usual, were cooked perfectly The dinner comes with half ear of corn(which is stingy),coleslaw and roll and butter.My wife enjoyed her Fried Shrimp Dinner and or friends raved about their Beer Battered Fish Fries. This is the second time at 2-Forks but they either changed the chef, menu or both as the food was night and day different. Previously it seemed to be focused on fried options where now it's shifted to fresh seafood and the quality shows. Maybe that's why the rating is so low. Ordered the steamed clams as appetizer, followed by lobster and crab leg entrees and tiramisu for dessert. I could not imagine the amount of food you get for the price. Clams were a little over $1/each, 2 lobsters (w/sides) for $40 and the 6-king crabs legs (w/sides) was $50 and all of it was what you would expect from a more higher end establishment (think more Remington tavern and less Storming Crab). It's the only time I've ordered shell fish where I've had to get a to-go box. The dessert choices were also pretty exceptional, perhaps too many with about 20 different options, and the tiramisu tasted home made. Honestly, the only knock on the place is that the decor feels a little dated and the patio where we sat could use a fresh coat of paint and some weed pulling but I almost hope they leave it how it is to avoid them raising prices. If you are looking for some great seafood around Buffalo at a reasonable price, this should be right there at the top of the list read more

I'm a bit late in posting my recent reviews. We were in at the restaurant a little over a week ago. It was 7/2... me, my fiance, and his mom. She had heard great things and loves seafood so she wanted to check it out. The website sounds great, the yelp reviews and photos sent me in a bit hesitant. Upon arrival, Mom was glad there was a ramp since the stairs outside are a bit steep. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Unfortunately inside there were almost as many steps to get back down to the seating area. There is a back door of sorts that goes out to the patio that she could've used but we didn't know. It wasn't busy at all. There is a good amount of seating and we were one of just a handful of parties there. It took a while before the waitress came over to take a drink order. Mom ordered the clam chowder, and I had the corn and shrimp chowder that came with my platter. The corn chowder was delicious. I mean, one of the best soups I've had ever. Mom preferred it to her clam chowder. For our meals, she had the fish fry, I had the fisherman's platter and my fiance had the shrimp surf and turf. Mom felt the fish fry was very greasy, and she was not a fan of the cole slaw. I agreed when I tried it, but cole slaw is one of those "to each their own foods." My fisherman's platter had a good amount of food. Don't forget it included my soup. Then it had fried shrimp, calamari, cod, crab cake and fries. I'm not a calamari person, but you can't substitute it out, so I have no feedback there. The cod and shrimp were both over fried. The crab cake was good but the menu says crabcakeS and there was one. It seemed like a frozen, not fresh or homemade cake. But it was good. The meal wasn't horrible but it left something to be desired. The sidewinder fries are fabulous though. The surf and turf meal was mostly a win. Steak was cooked well, potatoes and veggies were good. Shrimp was also overcooked. Very disappointed with the Alaskan king crab legs. They cost $51.00 and the taste was very bland. Not even close in the flavor and sweetness that I have enjoyed at other restaurants. Also, the melted butter does not come over a tea light. It was coagulating before I was halfway through. The rolls were stale and the bottle of wine was on ice but it came warm, not properly chilled. You should not have to add ice to your chardonnay. I was going to leave after my second crab leg but my wife asked me not to cause a stir. Against my better judgment I asked for more melted butter and tried to make the most of a bad situation. I mentioned my concerns to the server but nobody ever came out to discuss these issues. It came with 3 pieces of asparagus which isn't a lot and one looked chewed up. The piece of bread that was included was stale and no butter. The service was very slow I had a pick up order that was 20min late and the place looked very disorganized with the staff and customers coming in. This is a hidden gem where you can still get a good meal at a reasonable cost. And its real lobster! There is such a variety of seafood choices on the menu, combinations of steak, lobster, crab legs, crab cakes, in a variety of mediums - lobster ravioli or lobster roll sandwich, even a delicious raspberry salad that you can add any protein, including lobster to. There is something for everyone. I decided on the lobster with 6 oz sirloin. The sirloin was well seasoned and seared, medium rare pink in the middle. Te lobster was perfectly cooked and taken apart by my server in front of me in a matter of seconds with the meat gently placed on the plate. Note - if you like the lobster insides - the roe - or the little legs, make sure you tell your server to leave it or they may take it away with the shells. This combination was filling and I ended up with a take home container. I also recommend the Lemon Drop Martini with the sugar rim, it was perfect. They also have a unique combination of cocktails both refreshing and fun. The place is large and great for large groups. It looks like a rustic farmhouse inside and out which can be charming and a bit dated. But the food is worth it. BTW try the desserts, the variety of cheesecakes are great, most made on site. I had the Italian lemon cake with the cream filling which was light and refreshing. The total cost with dessert was under $60 without gratuity. For lobster and steak, alcohol and dessert I think in today's restaurant experience, that's pretty reasonable. One other mention, service is very good and attentive, the staff is always nice and helpful. Plus the fact they can take apart a lobster in seconds, and take care of the presentation as well at the table is a nice plus. And if you want to dine alone, they do serve at the bar and in the bar area there are high top tables. read more

We came here on a Saturday night which we recognize that this meant it was super busy, but the service and food were mediocre. Our waitress was nice but seemed overwhelmed which left us not being checked in on, and it took almost an hour to get water. We were there for 2 hours because of how long the wait for our food was. The restaurant itself seems old and run down, not the cleanest. The food was fine, but you could go to a seafood boil place and get better food for the same price. Been here a few time, love it each time. This time they were very accommodating for a large party (12). The food is excellent. Even great for the non seafood people. Kids got steak tacos and chicken fingers. The sidewinder fries were a big hit. The beef on weck was really good as well. Now for the seafood. Clams, shrimp, salmon, scallops were all fantastic. There's nothing better than a nice hot dish of Shrimp Scampi on a week night that I didn't have to cook! It was delicious, it wasn't overly garlicky and had a nice lemon taste. The shrimp was cooked to perfection. The portion size was generous, then when you add a salad and a dessert with coffee- believe me when I say you won't go home hungry . The waitresses were doing a great job and made sure you had what you needed. The only regret was that I did not sit outside on the patio, it was a calm evening and I really would have enjoyed that. read more
