Stopped in the other day as I know they have the best deal on clams. I've been here in the past with various results. Noticeably, the place is getting pretty run down. The parking lot is all rutted and the place needs a good cleaning. There's a large patio that could be nice but, they never screened in the windows and the flys can be everywhere! We sat at the bar and there's a large back room for dining. The bartender was surly and seemed annoyed we wanted menus. No small talk, just our drinks and turned away. We had a dozen raw and a dozen casino and stuffed banana peppers. The raw were tasty and fresh. The casinos were standard. The peppers were a little lackluster and a bit mushy. Also, oddly served with a half of an English muffin made into garlic bread. Had to catch the bartenders eye for another drink while he was muttering about another patron. In past experiences I had a good roast beef sandwich but warm beer. When we said that it was warm, she filled the pitcher with ice! Who does that? So, it's pretty hit or miss here. I'll stop for clams and hope the beer is cold. read more

The Boston hotel has been here forever, an unpretentious and reliable Seafood House. Lots of regular customers, waitresses, who remember your order preferences from the last time you were here, and a menu that is small, but well thought out. From the front it looks like there is limited parking, but if you go around to the back of the building, a large lot will accommodate you. Upon entry, you will walk by the bar area, which is filled with sports enthusiasts watching the game on high definition screens. Full bar and you can get food at the bar. Walk past it and into the very casual dining room. Come dressed as you are. One might expect that you will get typical bar food. You will be happy when your meal arrives to see beautifully prepared seafood cuisine. The broiled seafood platter is enormous and comes on two separate trays. The portions are large, and they will accommodate special requests. We love this place and only bring people who care about good food and a friendly atmosphere. No snobs at the Boston hotel. I ordered chicken fingers and french fries. The chicken fingers were soggy and the fries were dried out and tasted like ass. I only ate two. I told the waitress ~ she said she was so sorry. when the bill came nothing was taken off, which would've been nice but I didn't ask for anything so I guess it's on me. I won't be going back. The place was near empty so we sat at the bar which was filthy. We ordered a drink, but knew there was no way we would eat there. Celebrated my dad's 82nd birthday here as this was his choice. My scallops had no taste, the mixed veggies were basically cooked carrots, the fries were a little undercooked. We were not allowed separate checks or putting our lunches on credit cards, so figuring out the check was not easy! I ordered the BBQ chicken and bacon sandwich. Side choices were soup, coleslaw or macaroni salad. The restaurant only had soup. The chicken noodle soup had nice flavor, but was not hot. Lots of noodles and pieces of chicken, but not hot. You probably wont get the best service, but the food is outstanding. I usually get the crab leg special which always has a good amount of meat in the legs. The two locations only accept cash which is a pain to have to grab cash for a dinner night. I'd recommend both locations. read more

Our waitress was great. The food was awful. An appetizer served on what looked like a wet frisbee to start. What was supposed to be stuffed green hot peppers was the worst interpretation I've ever had. The peppers were tasteless mush with tasteless stuff inside and an odd hard tasteless crust on top. I came for the crab legs and these weren't good either. Maybe not in season? They were scant with meat, dry and frozen tasting. They don't even give you a warmer for the fake butter served in a plastic cup. Home-cut fries were ok but a measly amount. The one good item was the strip steak which was cooked perfectly and had a delicious charcoal cook. Please please if you don't want to be a restaurant don't bother serving food. My first time there. I want to say that the food was excellent. I had prime rib medium rare and it was actually medium rare. It was extremely tender. My wife and cousin had crab legs , clams casino and steamed clams. All of which they loved. Our server Kim was extremely friendly and attentive. We had our 10 month old Granddaughter with us and Kim took the time to talk to the baby too.She even asked me if I wanted more hot au-jus when she figured mine was getting cold. Most places I have to ask for that. I highly recommend this place if you want some great food and ask for Kim, because I know you will get the best possible service. I even met the owner on my way out and let him know how good everything was. He was very happy for the positive feedback. We will be going back next time we are in Buffalo. read more

The food was good. The surf and turf a favorite, the lobster dainty's good. The drinks good. Roast beef a little dry and fries were room temp. We liked it and worthy of 4 stars. Why 3? From the moment we walked in, it seemed like more than 4 dining was an annoyance to the waitress. It wasn't busy and we came early. I ordered food and a bowl of soup but I didn't get the soup. It was given to the people who just came in and ordered. I was told they ran out by our waitress. I ordered 1 cup and those people who was bigger party and was her friend got it instead of me. Then to top it off my drink had hair in it. Then for payment you have to pay in cash only. I grew up in Buffalo but I've never heard of this place. A buddy of mine kept urging me to go so this late afternoon I bellied up to the bar and had a great experience. The home made chicken noodle soup was outstanding, the bar staff was friendly and efficient and the locals were cordial. For dinner I had the surf and turf with the ribeye steak medium rare,lobster tail, salt potatoes and veggies. The steak was served a perfect medium rare with a nice char. The lobster tail was very good and even the veggies and potatoes were outstanding. The portion was so large I'll have it again for dinner tomorrow night. I'm a bit baffled by the negative reviews for this place. Maybe you caught them on a rare off night? If you go here understand that you're not going to experience elegant dining.
