All I wish is that they were saucier. These were medium and I definitely could have went hot because the medium was not spicy at all. I am not sure if it is everyday, just lunch time, or just Thursdays because they used to be closed on Thursdays, but they did have a very limited menu. They only had wings, fingers, fries, mozzarella sticks, and pizza logs. When we went there we had to order at a designated ordering spot at the bar and sit. There is a decent amount of spots to sit and you can definitely tell it has an old feeling to it. There was a different aesthetics to every room. This might be my favorite fish fry spot of the season! We called in an order for some fish fries and were very happy with what we got! Let's start off with the fish. It wad a great crunchy outside and was cooked perfectly. It was also a great size too which meant they gave us the order in a small pizza box. Now let's talk about the sides. SO MANY SIDES. Potato salad, mac salad, coleslaw, rye bread, and fries! And I have to say, they were all delicious! It was so much food and I was so happily stuffed after this. This is such a great spot. It feels like an old hometown bar that I used to live next to as a kid so it felt very familiar when I walked in. If have been going out for fish fry's in Buffalo for ever and this is the best. It comes with a large piece of fish that is beer battered, breaded or grilled. The sides are all homemade and they give you plenty. You can get German potato salad and sweet and sour cabbage too, if you like. Drinks are very reasonable here as well. Great service too. This was our first time dining in at the Bellevue and it did not disappoint. We got there a little after 5PM and waited about 45 minutes to be seated. That was expected as it was a Friday during Lent in WNY. Seated in the "red" room and had planty of elbow room, was not overly loud. The server was very attentive. Had the beer battered fish fry and the batter was a golden brown and very light and crispy! Had a choice between American or German potato salad. I came back to Bellevue during lent on a Friday. You can expect a wait on a normal Friday but during lent double that wait. We arrived at 4:30 and had to wait an hour, exactly the time the host gave us, where we waited in the packed bar had drinks and chatted. After ordering the wait for our food was longer than most restaurants, but for me the quality of the food is worth the wait. On this visit I wanted to avoid fried foods so I got the Chicken Cesar Salad and it did not disappoint. It was an enormous plate full of crisp green romaine, a very large chicken breast that was perfectly grilled, generous amount of Parmesan cheese and Cesar dressing on the side. I stuffed myself full and still had enough leftovers for another meal the next day. The servers were very friendly and accommodating and I always make sure to say hi to my favorite waitress. If your going here on a Friday be prepared for a wait, Lenten time or not. read more

I went out to dinner with my mom and stepdad a couple weeks ago. My stepdad chose the Bellevue hotel as he heard they did a good fish fry. The restaurant itself is legit inside of an old-school hotel. It's actually pretty cool. Mom and Pete both had the fish fry. Beautiful pieces of fried haddock I believe. Homemade sides of Mac salad and coleslaw were served along side the fish as well as French fries. I chose the fettuccine Alfredo. It was a good dish and I have just one critique in that I do believe it could've been elevated with a side of broccoli or veggie of some sort. But that is a problem that is easily fixed as I will just ask for a side of vegetables next time I go in and order this dish. Our waitress was fantastic and I truly wish I would've caught her name. I came here with my brother on a Friday evening before a Sabre game. Fridays are the only weeknight they serve dinner here, they are otherwise open only for lunch. The fish was very crispy, which my brother, who has been here before, thought was odd. It made me wonder afterward if we had perhaps had received the Panko-coated fish by mistake, but it didn't occur to me to ask until after we had left. I was here for a funeral breakfast. Not sure when we were expected to be at the restaurant but when we got there doors were locked. It took almost 5 minutes before they opened the doors. This was family style so food was brought to our tables and passed. We didn't get served until well over an hour when we arrived. Again not sure when we were to be expected or the timing of when we were to be served. Food was really good if you like the old time polish food. Fall off the bone pork chops served with apple sauce. Kapusta, lazy pierogies, chicken, potatoes and bacon and eggs. We also had beer, wine and pop. Just what everyone likes. The servers were great and moving fast to get everyone their food. This our go-to fish fry. We have ordered from several restaurants for take-out during the Covid 19 pandemic, and sadly but understandably, not all of them have delivered as consistently as before. However, I am not going to write any negative reviews while this crisis is going on. I have no desire to kick a local business while they are down. But I will point out the establishments that continue to offer great food with no decline in quality as a result of the crisis. Bellevue Hotel is one of them. My wife and I ordered the standard Friday fish fry, battered for her, breaded for him. And we also picked up a single order of bar-b-q wings for the non-seafood eating member of our household. Nice that they offered both wings and fish fries on a Friday. We had been frequent customers of Bellevue for several years, and everything was just as good as it always was. Tonight we were craving a good fish fry as the place we used to go to has closed. We found the Bellevue Hotel and were definitely very happy. The fish was done to perfection, the sides were plentiful, the service was awesome, staff was so nice. The price for this spectacular and filling meal was so reasonable. As my husband was in a wheelchair one of the staff helped assist us up the handicap ramp (that needs a refurbishing) and back out. We have found our new go to place for fish fry. read more

Definitely check out this place if you're in the market for a great fish fry. The portions were large and it was very crispy and well cooked and also came out very hot, which was great because we knew it wasn't sitting in the back getting cold. The dining room is a bit on the smaller size and it was loud and crowded so the wait was a bit long, but the food and the service was great so that won't scare us away from coming back. Wow, what a great place. And that old wives tale of being haunted is kinda fun too. One of my go to spots in the wintertime. Plenty of parking, clean bathrooms, and good jukebox. Great wings! Had the garlic parm. Cooked perfectly, crispy, not slimy, great sauce coverage. Special that day was $1.50 Yeungling draft pints, which I like. Pretty inexpensive. And worth a visit. Contrary to popular belief this is not actually a hotel. I've been coming here for about three years after softball and I've fallen in love with the patrons and the bartender Darlene. The food is phenomenal and the service is great. My biggest disappointment is that they haven't opened up the hotel upstairs for all the nights I've gotten tanked here. read more

The fish fry is fantastic, as is the service. Early bird 1/2 filet for around $9, full filet is under $12, your choice of beer battered or half dozen other ways, and it's skinless. Comes with fries, coleslaw, mac salad, german or american potato salad, (or sweet/sour cabbage substitution). The sides are sooo good. Best fish fry around! Heard great things about this place from a co worker and figured we would check it out for a fish fry on friday which is their specialty! Everything was great! We had mixed drinks honestly they were perfectly mixed nothing cheap tasting! The fish fry portion was huge and very good with having german or american potato salad also you got fries, macaroni salad, cabbage or coleslaw with rye bread! Huge potion and decent prices! About 12 dollars for each fish fry but you get 4 sides with it automatically and the fish is huge! They have a half size as well for 8 dollars i believe! I had the lemon pepper fish and my boyfriend had beer battered! Only reason i didnt give this 5 stars was because the service was pretty slow and it took about 10 minutes to even get drinks then about 25 minutes for food which honestly we were out for date night we didn't mond but we were just absolutely starving! Also a tip i would go around 6 oclock around 715 they ran out of fish! They are very busy on fridays and everyone in there had a fish fry! The only reason I am giving this a 3 is because I usually get decent service. My friend and I went into the bar area this past Friday, the 23rd probably around 9:30pm. You could tell the bartender was visibly intoxicated. Immediately when we went up to the bar this woman was extremely unfriendly and rude. We were asking about specials and food and she was very rude and short with her responses. Then we ordered wings, we had our bucket of beer at the table. We went on the porch for 2 minutes, when we came back in our table was cleared even though there were 3 full beers on top of one glass of beer and a pair of glasses. When we confronted the man who was clearing our table he said he thought we had left even though there were other tables full. Then, my friend went up to the bartender to inquire about the wings we were still waiting for and the bartender very rudely knew nothing about them and claimed she didn't pay for them. After arguing with the bartender about the wings the bartender pointed to a bag of wings to go that were at the end of the bar and said "I guess those are yours." The wings we ordered were medium. These wings were hot but cold in temperature from sitting around. I'm not even sure these were actually our wings and the bartender certainly wasn't sure either. read more
