Ok now, Grant and Amherst St is bringing attention to the neighborhood with a fine spot for coffee. RCH offers some really good Yemen coffee and other drink options. They also offer a limited amount of food and dessert options. The atmosphere is relaxing, especially when you sit on the lounge chairs. I wanted to order the Rafa signature latte and sabaya, but was informed they were sokd out of sabaya. The friendly cashier suggested the bee bite after seeing my disappointment, but I had already tried that so I went with the cinnamon roll croissant. My friends ordered milk cakes, lattes and a hit chocolate. Everyone seemed to enjoy their choices. The caramel milk cake was the fan favorite. Raha is a DESTINATION in Black Rock, a cozy little coffee shop that boasts truly traditional Yemeni coffees as well as the American classics we all know and love. There are so few cozy spots in Buffalo that are open late anymore, and the fact that I can get a coffee kick after 8pm at this magnificent place is just the bees' knees. If you need a place to pull up a laptop or get comfortable with a group of friends after a nice dinner, this is genuinely a wonderful place to end an evening. Raha functions as your standard coffee joint, with a full menu of all varieties of coffees and teas. They even do frappuccinos and smoothies, and iced coffee! They also offer small bites - we had the Bee bites, aka Honeycomb Bread, which was delicious! Coming down to the reason I feel so passionate about writing this review right now: I ordered a caramel macchiato (sorry, I was not feeling adventurous and decided to keep to my standard comfort drink) and it was perhaps the BEST caramel macchiato I've had...ever...in my whole life. Like it was so good. It made me realize I forgot what GOOD coffee tastes like. AND THE LATTE ART?! Oh my goodness. I can't even tell you the last time a coffee shop served me a latte in a proper ceramic mug. It's clear that there is a lot of love and care put in to this place. Not only was service very quick (we probably waited 5 minutes tops for two drinks and bee bites), but who I assume was the owner seemed very kind and caring for the respect of the coffee house space (moving furniture back after guests left it astray, lightheartedly laughing and joking with customers). It's bright but even in winter, it's warm inside and that might be due to the diversity and welcoming nature of Raha. Everyone comes here. ! Very cool local coffee/tea shop. Four of us split two desserts and they were both delicious. Neither was too sweet and went well with our drinks. We all got different drinks and loved them. The inside was very cool and unique. Two small complaints would be the lack of seating and the fact that their windows do not block the sun. Although there were a lot of unique seating options, the place was pretty packed and definitely needed more seating. Also very limited in terms of big tables for groups so beware! My other note is that the shop is located in a very sunny location and the glass windows do nothing to block the sun. First time here! I think the best part of this place is definitely the ambiance. It's really pretty and peaceful to do your work but the wifi didn't work well for me and my friend so we had to use a hotspot. The coffee was good, I got the Rahas signature coffee which is spiced. The pastry's we tired were pretty disappointing, we got a peach mouse that was $10, which was extremely overpriced for size and flavor, would not get this again. As well as an almond croissant which was $7 and also lacked in flavor. They microwaved it so it wasn't even a croissant at that point and it was half cold and half hot. For the price I don't think the food was worth it in any way, I would just stick to coffee. I wish it was redeemed by the service but it unfortunately wasn't. read more

I tried this place with friends after watching the step out buffalo's featured video. I had high expectations because the video raved about everything here. However, the place turned out to be just ok for me. They were out of the Dubai chocolate which I was dying to try, so we weren't off to a great start. We ordered 4 pastries, 3 drinks out of which the only memorable item was the bee bites. I found all the pastries too sweet and the Pistachio Frappuccino was sugar overload. I swapped with my friend who got a pistachio latte which was a little more palatable for me. There is no table service so you order at the counter and find a table. The ambiance was very bright with cute tables and couches around the place. Nothing was bad but nothing was impressive to me either. I've gotten the pistachio latte with oat milk twice, iced and hot. It is very delicious either way. The bee sting, which is bread with honey all over it. Working through the menu and rave reviews in all of it so far. The atmosphere is also nice. A great spot to bring a book, a laptop, or a date. The staff was very friendly and, this is a little silly, but I really like the takeout cup design. The gold on black is a sleek vibe. Everything in this place is beautiful. Comfy atmosphere with a very inviting interior. Music not too loud and fair prices. We came in a Saturday noon and there were a few people inside. Very welcoming and kind staffs that are happy to help when you have questions about the drinks and pastries. Haven't tried the pastries yet, but we tried their pistachio latte (iced) and turkish coffee which were both good and stayed for an hour to play uno. Board games and playing cards are also available for you to play. A great place to study, meet up with your friends/family, or just to unwind. First off i'd like to appreciate the aesthetics of this place, very well decorated, clean looking, and smells kind of delicate and perfumy, very well lit too. me and my mom tried their Iced matcha's, mine was coconut and hers was regular with ferrero cheesecake, some sort of cheese danish, and two of their fancy fruit pasteries. Next i tried the coconut pastry which had some mango bits on top, chocolate, and some whipped cream like filling, its very subtle and mild and i honestly thought it was pretty decent, lacks some flavor though, i wish it had a more intense coconut flavor like the mango one did. Lastly the matcha, i enjoyed the coconut flavor that accompanied the Matcha, but we asked for both sweetened and still found them to be a little lackluster in terms of how sweet it was, the green color was also kind of muddy. (which if you know a lot about matcha you know high quality matcha is supposed to a vibrant green) The service was good, the staff are patient and accommodating of orders, but they seem to struggle a little bit with english (which isn't a problem but it made it slightly harder to order due to small misunderstandings). My big thing here was that me and my mom felt a little judged by the other customers, they stared a lot, and made gestures towards us, which dampened the experience with some discomfort. I would say it was similar to mine just less sweet and without cinnamon. We ordered the Biscoff milk cake which was the perfect portion and light and of course.... delicious ! My friend ended up ordering another one for themselves and one of the cheesecakes (I dont remember which cheesecake but I am sure it was delicious!) The worker was friendly and while he was the only employee -- he was working so calm and chill for it being busy. There's Arabic music on the speakers and a tv screen showing the playlist. Many of the seats have easy access to power outlets, making this a great spot to bring a laptop and get some work or homework done. The menu is up on the wall, easy to read, and has good descriptions of the options if you are not familiar with them. I had a hard time choosing, they all sound so good - I will definitely be back to try more. There are plenty of unique and unusual flavors that I don't see in average coffee places.
