I found out about this place on social media and it did not disappoint! My fiancé and I came here for our anniversary and we got the "Al tavolo" 3-course brunch. Everything was so delicious - I'd highly recommend this, especially if you're willing to splurge for a special occasion. I had the passion fruit spritz to drink which was so pretty, sweet, and delicious. For the second course, I ordered the zucchini bread French toast which was sooo good. The tartness of the sour cherry syrup balanced well with the richness of the mascarpone. The ambience is the main draw here - the place is gorgeous and historical. There are interesting paintings on the wall that our waitress even took the time to explain. I was pretty impressed by the service. We left absolutely stuffed, I didn't have room for dessert. RACIST HOTEL MANAGERS -- Do not go here. I wish I could give this establishment 0 stars. I do not recommend you dine or stay here as their customer service is absolutely disgraceful. Their restaurant manager, Alex is extremely unprofessional and rude. He led my party of 6 and I to an empty table that had no place settings. He says"I will be right back, I have to wipe the table down" then he disappeared and never came back. We literally just stood there waiting in the middle of the restaurant. Then the host comes over and very rudely asks us if we have a reservation. I then told him, Alex said he would be back. But Alex never came back, just left us there and the host continuously asked us if we had a reservation. He caused a scene and made us look foolish in this restaurant. When I called to speak with the hotel manager he is even more rude. So now it makes sense why the staff act the way they do. The hotel manager himself refused to provide his name when asked. Strange because it is easily available on Google. We are all hard working Boston professionals, one of which is a very successful business owner. We were dressed professionally so the only thing that I think would cause such terrible service is racism. I am never the one to bring up the race card, but let's be real here. We did nothing wrong to be treated this way. One of our guests did not receive her meal until everyone had already finished dining. When I mentioned this to the hotel manager he says and I quote, "This isn't the restaurant for you". This is how he responds when you tell him about your horrible experience. She literally sat there and watched us all eat. And this is how he responds.... If you are looking for a place to stay in Boston that is respectful and has class, go to the Fairmont Copley or The Four Seasons. I will be letting everyone I know in Boston to avoid this place at all costs. For these prices and this type of low class service? They won't last long. read more

If you want reserve the most impressive seats in the house, request the balcony seats that overlook the restaurant. The food itself was fantastic, the service was professional too. Great location for a brunch or lunch for business or with friends. Even on the weekends they switch from a breakfast to brunch menu, while I found that a little strange there was a good selection on both. Overnight oats is decent but served cold for some reason. Egg white frittata dish is small and mediocre-tasting and definitely not worth $25. Banana almond smoothie was tasty. Bloody mary was rather bland, and not listed on the cocktail menu for some reason. For lunch, the garden vegetable minestrone wasn't too bad. The first few bites of the gnocchi di patate were amazing, but after that it was an extremely heavy, way-overly-rich dish and I couldn't even finish it even though I was still hungry. However we had to wait 30 minutes to place our order and had to flag down the server to do it while she constantly walked by the table to help other tables. When we pointed out we hadn't ordered she didn't seem to realize or care that we had been waiting so long. We noticed some people had lobster rolls which weren't on the menu so we had to ask if they had a special and she was like "oh yeah we do, do you want to know what it is?" I'm pretty sure it's her job to share that without having to ask. The Caesar salad had 4 leaves in it and wasn't enough to feed a hamster. I added shrimp to it which was ok, but then my lunch salad priced out at $31. Also 2 small iced teas came to $14 because they are not refills. The portion sizes do not match the price, and it is definitely a restaurant charging for the experience of dining here, not the food quality. Our pasta was undercooked, poorly strained, and lacked fat & acid components. The sepia was almost nonexistent in the dish. The pasta desperately needed a sauce. It seemed it was only dressed with water, and I don't think that was intentional. It seems that their menu options are much better for weekend brunch, so that may be the ideal time to plan a visit. The hostess and servers were very professional and courteous. The two stars of this review are for the atmosphere and service. The food gained no stars whatsoever. We came in hungry, and left hungrier. We grabbed some sandwiches right after this lunch. I haven't had such a wonderful dining experience in a long time! Firstly, the decor is stunning. The restaurant is in the old federal reserve and still boasts marble floors and gold emblem on the floor. The artwork is modern and clever. The chairs were plush and sizeable. We had drinks, appetizers, entrees, and dessert. Every course was delicious. There is a secret milkshake every month- show a photo form their Instagram page to order. February's was a delightful, pink, confectionery treat. Service was phenomenal. One of our companions was late but we were never rushed to order. We received kind, friendly service through 3 courses that easily lasted over 2 hours. Now, I don't know if they made this ahead, and had it under the warmer, or if it sat out while my dinning companion's dish was being made, but it simply wasn't right. HOW did I ever not know about this hidden gem in the Langham?! Everything about this place incredible and the most amazing experience ever! As soon as you walked up those stairs, right away you get swiped off your feet by the beautiful chandeliers and their historic paintings. It automatically gave me the Titanic vibe. Given we went on a weekend, finding parking was super easy and we found street parking right in front of The Langham. TLDR: come for the ambiance. To be upfront I'm a harsh critic of brunch food because it's generally so easy to make at home. Grana's brunch definitely has an elevated twist- the English muffins my friend had were served in a little basket with mini dishes of butter and jam, and the granola with my berries and yogurt was a homemade chocolate hazelnut type, and I had a carrot-orange-turmeric juice which was fun. That being said, it's quite pricey for what ends up being classic brunch/breakfast fare (I paid $38 for the yogurt and juice after tip). The indoors is very pretty, all the waiters are in this cute French-ish uniform, and it feels fancy, but be prepared to pay for that beautiful atmosphere. We asked for a minute, and the server did not return in the next 20 minutes. The host ended up taking our orders, apologizing for the delay. Our drinks were super tasty, I got the rosé punch and my husband the s'mores martini. They were both excellent and had great presentations. Our entrees arrived, no sign or our appetizer. Host apologized again, ended up comping it and it came out soon after. My husband got a breakfast sandwich and I got the pumpkin bread French toast. While both were very tasty, the portion sizes were laughable. The sandwich was also $28, my toast was $22. The burrata we ordered was amazing, very aromatic with truffle oil and very creamy. I honestly should give fewer stars, but the ambiance is worth a visit and the prices probably reflect the high price of rent here. The service was decent, nothing to complain about. However, my eyes were feasting but my wallet was crying. We ordered an omelet, an eggs Benedict, a milkshake, and an orange juice with the grand total bill coming to almost $100 which is massively inflated (having dined through NYC and Bay Area, I thought I was used to inflated prices already). Let's talk Grana! The last time I was here it was Bond and I was celebrating a birthday. Years later it's Grana and I'm celebrating my birthday. Reels and stories all over Instagram have been singing it's praises and it's not hype. The drinks are so good I had several we also did the prefix menu which is a great option with a group if you all order different things you really get to experience the menu. When I say everything was good I mean everything but the beet balls (I don't like beets so that's a me thing) beets aside this place is lovely. The service the woman at the desk was so sweet to me I don't know her name but I believe she is middle eastern based off the chat we had about the meaning of my name in Arabic. My friends were late to arrive but our server made sure we got all our orders in and at one point the bartender came over to speak with my friend to make sure he could make a good drink for her based on her taste. I do not normally leave reviews, even if it's outstanding or horrendous I let the masses be the birds of quality rather than myself. I had lunch here and was excited to try the albeit outrageously priced but presumably delicious $24 Italian sandwich. Never in my life have I been more let down by a sandwich as I was today. Judging by the texture the roll was baked before anyone heard the phrase COVID 19. There was minimal meat, a strange seasoned Mayo (which does not belong on an Italian) and enough arugula to feed a colony of rabbits. I will say the atmosphere was fantastic but the quality of food was beyond lacking and it's unlikely I will be back. This is disappointing given the lack of options in downtown Boston post pandemic. The space is quite beautiful, though in all honesty, a bit smaller than I had expected. The service was very attentive and the breakfast offerings were simple and well prepared. I ordered the two egg special and those crispy potatoes were so so good. The French toast was also really nicely done. In reality the food was bland and uninteresting, just mediocre hotel food. Service wasn't particularly great and its clear that the main thing they have to offer is the space itself.
