We tried the donut of the day, which was a strawberry Glaze with a cream pound cake, and raspberry drizzle (may be missing something), and it was interesting but not my Forte. Stopped by at Glazed over for some sweet donuts! Parking can be hard to find since it's all parallel/street parking. If you can't find any right in front, there are side streets that you can park at and just walk it. The place itself is small, however there are some indoor and outdoor seating. The place has a basic, casual vibe to it, plus it's clean and well maintained. They have a section where you can see the workers make the donuts which is cool. Ambience rate 7/10. To order, you have to write on a paper how many donuts you want, and how you want it customized (flavor, toppings, glaze). The donuts are an average size, not too small nor too big. They have a more cake like texture to it, rather than a "Krispy Kreme" classic donut texture. I got half a dozen and customized them differently. They all tasted sweet and unique in their own way. Food rate 7/10. The prices for half a dozen ($13.41) aren't bad considering you're paying for how you want your donut to taste like. The staff is nice, and depending on how many donuts you order/amount of people there are depends on how long you'll have to wait. I waited maybe less than 10 minutes, so the service went by relatively fast. Service rate 9/10. Overall, I wouldnt necessarily go out of my way to Glazed Over considering there are better dessert shops in the area. Really enjoyed our stop at this donut shop on a weekend trip to Beacon. The shop can be found nestled between a bunch of cool stores on Main Street. Loved the inside of the store, very quaint. Attended a Yelp event at Glazed Over Donuts, Main St. Beacon. The proprietor greeted us asking "If we've been there before?" We let him know we were there for the Yelp event and he checked us in. The doughnuts are made fresh and allowed to cool before being custom glazed or not. Upon entering; you pick up a clipboard and fill in how you want the donut customized. In a few minutes it's brought over to you. As you can see from other peoples photos the donuts can be very elaborate. There is sufficient seating indoors and on the sidewalk. My Millennial Chum and I stopped by on Sunday at the end of a splendid Beacon adventure. I had a good feeling when we walked up and saw a bearded gentleman at a table outside wearing a fedora - if the hipsters have given their blessing, that ups my comfort level considerably. We were greeted by a manager almost immediately upon entry, who gave us a quick primer on the ordering process. It was pretty easy (you select options from three categories - donut flavor, glaze flavor and a topping, give them your name and wait for scrumptiousness to arrive) and both of us agreed that putting your specific order in writing for the employees dramatically increases the chances that it's going to be prepared correctly. The donuts are made to order on the spot based on your preferences, and my donut literally came out about a minute later. It probably takes 30 seconds longer than some guy at Dunkin Donuts grabbing a stale donut from the rack, and I'm certainly willing to tough out that extra half minute. I ordered a strawberry donut with strawberry glaze and Fruity Pebbles topping. Just heavenly - tasted amazing, and it was ridiculously fresh. There's a lot to criticize in the world in 2022, but society's warm embrace of Fruity Pebbles in basically any eating situation is a real selling point. Even more mindboggling to me is that the price of the donut was about $2.50 - if we were closer to NYC they could get away with charging twice that if not more. If you are looking for an airy fried piece of dough then you may not be a fan! I love this place because you have so many options to make it your own. 3 pregnant ladies walk into a donut shop... 5 stars. I could end there, but I'll elaborate a bit more. Glazed Over is serving up some of the best donuts that I've had. And it's not just the preggo in me talking. These donuts were just perfect in every single way. I'm not in Beacon often but you can bet that I'll this will be stop #1 when I return. While you wait you can fill out an order sheet that gives you the option to customize each donut. They don't have preset donuts, so this was a bit overwhelming for a first timer. If you are planning on a first time visit I'd suggest checking out the menu ahead of time, and maybe scrolling through Yelp pics for inspo! It was so tough to choose, but I decided to take the fruity route for one and a chocolatey pb route for the other. My first donut was lemon glazed and topped with fruity pebbles and strawberry jelly. My second was peanut butter glazed and topped with pretzels and a chocolatey drizzle. Both were fabulous, but the star of the show was the fruity pebble. The lemon glaze was so delish that this would have been good standalone, but the addition of strawberry jelly and crunchy fruity pebbles really made this donut the total package. Peanut butter choco pretzel was more classic - a safe donut bet, and you really can't go wrong. Even without any toppings, my pals and I agreed that the actual donut was perfection. So cakey and moist on the inside with a perfectly crispy exterior. Obviously best fresh, but we had them again the next day and they held up nicely. Donuts are the perfect size. Confession: first time in a fancy donut place. Outcome? NEED THEM IN MY LIFE FOREVER. We went here on a Friday morning, and anticipated seeing a case of donuts to choose from. Once done, we returned the clipboard to the counter, dropped the pen in the "used" cup, and watched the magic happen. You can step beyond the counter and watch donuts being made/cooked/glazed/dressed. So fun to watch! Waiting for our donuts only took about 10 minutes, and we took them home. Unfortunately due to COVID, they wouldn't allow indoor dining, but after we got home? They were GONE. The most delicious donuts I have ever had - the fruity pebbles creations we made were the literal best... we will definitely come back. Our final 6 donuts?
