    Sumatran pour over was amazing!!
    Edward K.

My wife, daughter and I were nearby and that seemed like a good excuse to check out Big Mouth Coffee Roasters. There was ample street parking nearby. The shop itself is very cool, great place to relax. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I received good information about the four available coffee beans available for pour overs. I went with the Sumatran Meukat Komuditi. After a brief wait, I received an amazing tray. The pour over coffee service included a pot of coffee and a glass of sparkling water. They provide a glass for you to pour the coffee into. We had our dog with us, so we sat at their outdoor seating. My wife and daughter enjoyed an iced coffee and a cold brew, with oat milk and caramel syrup. I absolutely loved the complexity of the pour over coffee. Truly a fantastic cup of coffee! Looking forward to returning!

This one. Lavender Latte, soy milk. When in Beacon. Went back twice and will stop by here when in town.

Super cute cafe good coffee with good flavor and the pastries looked amazing too! The staff was often just one person working so if you're in a rush just keep that in mind.

Super cozy place to grab a coffee and do some work or catch up with friends. Lots of seating available, lots of natural light, and great service.

Big mouth is a great local coffee shop with thoughtfully roasted coffee. The coffee itself is next level and their baristas take the time to thoughtfully prepare each order. Highly recommend the oat latte, or any of the espresso drinks. The space is inviting and features a variety of tables for reading, writing, or even meeting up with a friend to catch up!

Great local coffee shop! The prices and quality cannot be beat. Love the local art on the walls and the overall atmosphere. It's always a stop for me when I'm shopping in Beacon!

This is my number one go to spot for coffee in Beacon. Never disappoints. They prepare the best cappuccino in the Hudson Valley. The baristas are always friendly and the ambience is casual and quiet.

Quaint place with friendly service and good coffee. Also absolutely delicious green iced tea. Would recommend!

Disgustingly my sweet baked goods that I threw out and the coffee was just as bad.. as was the attitude, service and skill set of the barista and the cashier. We actually tipped 15% ahead of time and I can't think of a place or staff that deserves it less. The cashier not inky didn't smile or warmly greet us, but also faildd to ask if we wanted things to go or for here ( we had planned on eating in) so I had to actually ask for and get plates myself.. Two of us and two pastries and when I asked for plates she only originally wanted me to use one from the stack.. ? I watched a multitude of people after us get their coffee order and I asked nicely about how long it would be for mine. Knowing they clearly forgot but didn't want to embarrass them. Instead of an apology, the "barista" rolled her eyes and lied about having trouble with the espresso machine and said mine would be next. Then made a few more for other people instead. All in said machine. I said nothing and waited patiently. She then said mine was being made now and I watched in horror as she didn't know how to use the correct amount of coffee or tamper it correctly and knew it was going to be a total waste of money, which it was. Not yo mention she did it all with the most aggressive and nasty attitude.. clerg didn't want to be there or was well versed in customer service or coffee making skills. Then she slammed it down on the opposite side of the machine than I was standing and had a nasty attitude overall. No smile. Not handing it to me directly either. Wtf? Imagine if she hadn't been tipped? Clearly they belong in customer service ( neither one of them.. Wed morning ..today) or behind an espresso machine. Hopefully other staff do a much better job. The overall vibe of the place was dirty and bleak too. Again, hopefully with better people working things are better tasting, feeling and much cleaner. I don't think the sickly sweetness of the pastries would be any better though since they clearly don't bake them themselves .. Do yourself a favor and make it yourself instead. Or go to Kitchen $ Coffee, which is not only clean and delicious ( food and drinks) but has the best personality as well as skill set in it's staff.. I can See why they're so much busier .. Plants etc looked neglected too, not surprisingly .. and bathroom was dirty and gross ( garbage all over the floor) and in desperate need of a paint job as it was scraped away throughout. Can't imagine the cleanliness is any better in good or drink prep.

This was the soft opening so I had very low expectations, but the coffee was delicious and the owner so happy to take the time to tell us about this new venture. This is right in the heart of my town so I'll be coming back regularly and I'm so happy for this contribution to the community

Private events here also HIT. The space can turn into anything you want. The layout of the coffee shop is a bit funky but it's exactly what gives it character. The chocolate croissants here area MUST but word on the street is their almond croissants are even better. I wasn't able to try them since by the time we came here they were sold out but we really enjoyed our drinks, croissants and danishes. Using top of the line La Marzocco to make you the perfect espresso drink, you can choose from cappuccino to latte, to flat white. I got the flat white with macadamia nut milk and lavender syrup served in glass and it was absolutely delicious. The cool thing is you get to sit right in the room where the magic happens: the roasting. The plants give it the right touch and it's the perfect space to come and get some work done while you sip on some delicious coffee.

But inside - it is rustic, large and has many tables around, some in corners to create an intimate and private space. It's very comfortable and inviting. The coffee house was clean and the bathrooms were clean as well. The staff were very friendly. They offer a variety of coffees, typical of an artisan coffee shop. There was food and different types of good looking pastries offered. We ordered a Macchiato but they didn't know how to make that. So we settled on two Cappuccinos. The prices were a bit cheaper then other well know coffee places. The cups and lids were a bit of a disappointment. They were cheaply made and I was worried the lid would pop off. Unfortunately we were not impressed with the coffee. It was watery and weak and we ended up not finishing them. This is a very nice looking shop, and the staff was sweet, but unfortunately the mediocre coffee doesn't make it worth a return visit for me.

It was literally the only place I could find on short notice with reservation slots available, which maybe should have been a sign (and certainly a reminder to me to be much more proactive about this sort of thing in the future). This was sort of a meet in the middle for us; she's in Redding, CT, and I'm in North Jersey. Common Grounds is located at the end of a strip mall, though arguably a higher-end one. The parking lot was VERY busy and while spots were relatively easy to find, I had to settle for one further away close to the bowling alley next door. All good though in that regard. The first hint that this was going to go downhill happened almost immediately. Despite having made the reservation for 11, our designated table wasn't available for seating because the prior party was "lingering." There wasn't a time limit on the dining parties so it seemed like Common Grounds just made assumptions on when people would leave, which is probably not an exact science on the best of days, and certainly not on a day where you might have a family reunion element. We were offered a large high-top table to sit at instead, which my mother isn't comfortable with, and after a few minutes of sitting there, were instructed to take a "normal" table by the window. I will give props for the hostess reading the room in that regard and doing what she could to give us an optimal seating situation - the wait and miscalculation wasn't her fault. She was also very nice to my mother, which for sure counts for something. It took probably 15 minutes for our waitress to come by and ask for drink/food orders, which isn't great. I'd decided on the Blueberry Lemon Ricotta Pancakes from the Specials menu, only to be told by the waitress that they were no longer available. I then had to quickly pivot to the French Toast from the regular menu, but lack of availability is something that should have been mentioned when we received the menus, not while we're ordering. And it wasn't even noon - a little concerning. I don't know if it was just a bad day behind the scenes, but it took over 45 minutes to get two pretty simple brunch entrees to us, and almost as much time to get our beverages. That would at least be understandable if the place was packed and everyone was busy, but that wasn't the case - a lot of tables emptied up within 20 minutes of our arrival, and in a pretty troubling optic, most of the front-end waitstaff was literally just standing around by the coffee station not doing anything. That's bad management, and could have helped alleviate whatever was happening in the kitchen. You have five minutes to kill? Okay, stop by your tables and apologize for the delay. Help bus and turn over the recently vacated tables. Maybe refill my water glass, which was empty for most of my meal. There's just no excuse for that. And it's a shame because my Cardamon Rose Latte was excellent, and the French Toast was very good as well. French Toast isn't one of my go-to's, but when I have it I prefer it to be softer and not as cumbersome, and this fit the bill. But because the wait time and overall service was mediocre at best, I didn't even want to go near a dessert menu or consider having a second latte - that probably would have tacked on another hour. So by virtue of not being attentive and efficient, Common Grounds left money on the table. A real shame; and frankly, surprising to me given that this has to be a very notable day on the calendar for brunch places. I'd ensure everything was well-oiled and ready to go, and it's clear it just wasn't. I overheard quite a few people outside singing the praises of this place, and I saw enough to probably understand why. But we weren't the beneficiary of most of those qualities.
