It's a cozy spot that works for just about any occasion. The pastries are delicious, and I highly recommend the hot chocolate and the Turkish coffee. I can't say enough nice things about the owner, John Rich, who works the COVID-safe takeout window and has evidently donated coffee for Sherman School SPTO meetings for years. Found Common Grounds on Yelp and knew it was my kind of place! The shop is modern, clean, and bright. The staff was friendly and professional. They roast their own beans. My father in law and I went with Americanos and my wife had their cold brew. The Americano was robust yet smooth and my wife enjoyed the cold brew. Definitely glad we got to try Common Grounds!

Then a friend of ours recommended Redding Roasters, we bought a pound to try out, and we never stopped. It's a bi-monthly event now, we stop in (OK, my husband stops in most of the time. I work a lot and don't usually have opportunities to go myself), pick up two pounds of single-origin beans, and find the will to keep going. Even though my office has free coffee, I bring my own from home. I can't be without it! And the people there are so wonderful! They're all very personable and when I get the time to stop in I love chatting with them. The selection is great, the people are great, supporting a local business is great. I hope they stick around for decades more.

This morning on our way home we took a special detour to have breakfast here. I asked for the same veggie omelette, hoping to re-experience their unique and delicious creation, but alas! it was a total disappointment! The distinctively creative design was gone, and in its stead was just an average, run-of-the-mill omelette, all the while (to make things even worse) sans the spinach that was specified on the menu (which was generously offered 4 years ago). I attach photos from 4 years ago for my dear readers to compare and understand my perspective. The homemade biscuit was still as warm, fluffy and tasty as before, so was the attentive and friendly service. However, we did get the feeling that this place had gone downhill, and are unlikely to return again.
