My first visit here to this restaurant. Once you walk in, you can see the eclectic decor and the quirky furniture that don't match, but it works, and at every turn you will see an interesting piece that will catch your eye and make you go . This Saturday/Sunday brunch is excellent from the service to the music and especially the food. The shrimp and grits is Fantastic with just the right amount of spice. The bacon egg and cheese biscuit comes with potatoes, and the portion size is huge.The lobster omelette also is a very good portion with potatoes and a salad with blueberries and other assorted fruit mixed into the salad. Mimosas have just the right amount of champagne that you can actually taste. All in all a great brunch experience. Visited this Newburgh establishment last night, located at the 9W/Washington Street intersection, to see the "Dave Matthews Tribute Band" that played upstairs. Band was really exceptional, venue itself was fantastic with nice seating, views, sound & super clean (thankfully separate male/female) bathrooms. Food service was just OK tho, with solid professional servers. However, the food items themselves were below par. My lady had the beef stew (undercooked & quite poor) & I had a Buffalo Chicken Wrap (average). Thankfully the many Moscow Mules I had were good. I'd def return to see other shows in the future & will just eat before my next visit. read more

This was my family and I first time at Silk Factory and the food was good and the drinks were good as well. Everyone enjoyed their food and there were no complaints. Paris, the waitress was very polite and attentive. She made sure everyone had whatever they asked for. The ambiance is a chic style, which has a relaxing and comfortable feel. The R&B music was good as well. For this being our first time here, we would rate Silk Factory a 4.5. We would definitely come back. However, if the young lady works here there should be a dress code for the workers. (NOT PARIS). My family and I should not have to look at the young lady's butt cheeks while we are eating. Went to the Silk Factory on Saturday night to see River of Dreams in their upstairs event space. Although we weren't their for the food there is limited food and bar service in the event space and we saw a few dishes go by and the burgers and fries and they looked delicious. Next time we go there we will be definitely going early to have dinner downstairs first. The reason for only 4 stars is twofold, first although the waitress service was good, one of the waitress' was a dressed a little inappropriate, one guy sitting near me joked with his buddy that she almost popped out of her top. Secondly, the big screens on each side of the stage ran advertisements for upcoming shows throughout the event, I understand the that the venue needs the advertisements but it is distracting and could maybe be turned off while the performers are on stage. read more

Had a wonderful experience here! The trendy and artsy atmosphere was a perfect spot for our large group brunch. It offers a wide variety of comfy seating. They had live music, which is always a plus. The food and cocktails were delicious. Our server, Justin, provided outstanding service on his first day serving. Rich was also super friendly and came over to introduce himself to everyone in our group. You can really tell he genuinely enjoys what he does. The Silk Factory is a great spot for brunch, a meal, or to just grab a coffee and catch some awesome music. First time ever at The Silk Factory with my family and we were impressed. Great food, with a relaxed but classy atmosphere. My wife's food came out incorrect and she was just going to let it go but Mary caught it right away and had it fixed immediately. Last time I had to correct an order somewhere else, I got an eye roll like I was the problem. The service was truly exceptional and we all enjoyed the entire experience. Coming here was a recommendation from one of our friends, as it weighs heavily on its pros and cons at Silk. First off, parking is a huge chore, and especially in the small tight parking lot they provide, it will be hard to get in and out when it is packed. Another alternative would be parking on the street. Luckily, we had no trouble, but it was a hassle. As we entered, it was one huge room with lots of tables, decor all around, and also a stage for live performances. All of that looked pretty cool and it looked very clean all around. Also, I found two chessboards located throughout the room. Our waitress (didn't get her name), was not attentive for the most part, even though it looked fairly busy - slow service and laziness I sensed. It looked to me that some of the workers didn't want to be there. As we were discussing with her to split our checks, she said we can only do one whole check and split it as a whole since there was a computer problem and also, there is a policy of having a big party, 20% guaranteed tip was provided on the check (I believe she was being lazy), a big turnoff for us. Another incident occurred when one of the bartenders was passing out our drinks (which was a bit of a surprise), I said out loud where my lemonade is without realizing she was there, and said with an attitude, do you want to help me put it out, I only got two hands, and I'll get to tell you shortly, even though she was kind of joking along with it. Here's a solution, use a tray for crying out loud, lol. It's sad to see how rude and lazy workers can ruin the whole atmosphere. To end it, our waitress didn't check in with us at all. The food we ordered all came out in a delayed manner, despite that, we enjoyed it, as all of them were tasty and cooked very well. I personally ordered the Fried Chicken and Waffles with a side of Fries. All of it tasted great, except, I didn't find the waffles super flavorful even with maple syrup. I was able to eat it thankfully as it had a moderate taste. It's very hard to say will be back again after what just happened, and also with parking being an issue. Would love to see some changes and improvements, because this place holds a lot of fun. Sidenote - They also host events, which include parties in all areas, you name it, and also use it as a wedding venue. There is an upstairs where there is additional space. Newburgh continues to surprise with its extraordinary offerings when it comes to coffee, food, culture, and just about everything! Silk Factory Cafe opened in November of 2021 but it took the closure of one of my favorite coffee shops in late March 2022 for me to explore coffee options in and around the area and I ultimately found my way here. The space is gigantic and simply gorgeous and whether you want a coffee, a light meal, a place for live music, or simply a place to chill...look no further! A friend and I posted up at one of the couches and had a very pleasant morning over coffee and pastries and we both remarked on how nice the place was. There's so much potential for this place and I am certain it will add significantly to the Newburgh community at large over time. The coffee and food were stellar but the many events that are slated for the space will be a great reason to come back regularly. There is plenty of parking in the lot attached to the space and you'll find plenty of coffee, alcohol, and food choices to make this a part of a convenient and fun experience on the regular. read more

Nice place. Tough area. Came for a music show. Area looks questionable. Asked if there was security guards available after the show to walk us to our car and the girl said she had to ask. She did find us later and said no, no security was working that night. Will think twice next time or maybe they will have security guards working the venue to assist. read more

Beautiful building. Went to a music venue upstairs. Paid extra for platinum seating which was only a few feet from regular seating. The air conditioner was on full blast and everyone in the vicinity was freezing. Asked a waitress, bartender and security guy if the ac could be turned down and they said they would go see but it never got turned down. My date and I wound up standing in the back of the room to get out of the arctic blast. So much for platinum seating. read more

This is a long time in coming. I have been to Silk Factory for corporate events and most recently for a private dining experience. Overall I cannot say what a memorable experience dining here has been. First, the venue, I LOVE repurposed buildings. The space is open brick with cozy corners decorated to encourage lounging. It's very welcoming, interesting, and fun all that the same time. There is street and lot parking on site. Second, the food, it is delicious!! The menu keeps changing according to the season and the chef. We had perfectly seasoned and prepared flatbread, baba ganoush (two ways), salmon, and nutella pinwheels. We had paired wines and drinks that enhanced the meal. Third, the service was incredible. We had a wonderful interaction with the chef, his sommelier, and the events manager. My husband and I stopped into this fabulous venue-- restaurant, bar, event location. I had the Silk salad; my husband had the beef stew. Both were incredibly tasty, and we had enough to take home in doggie bags. My sugar cookie martini was delightful, tasty, wonderful. We loved the ambiance, the decor, and the people. I haven't loved a club this much since we hung out at Area in NYC, and that was a long time ago. Great music, attentive servers, and the club has its own parking lot. This is my new favorite place. If I could give zero stars, I would! For years,I've heard great things about the silk factory. They were having a masquerade party, and I thought, how much fun, I could grab a gown out of the closet and go to a formal night out in Newburgh... We got there a little bit after 7pm.The advertisement said it started at 7pm, the ticket said it started at 6pm. We were told we needed to hang out until nine o'clock.. Are you kidding me? I wasn't waiting two hours... We asked for our money back and suddenly we were allowed to go upstairs, where the room was completely empty. There was no music, except whatever was piped in from being played downstairs... When that band left, it switched to hip hop... There was nothing masquerade themed except the mask on the bartender who seemed annoyed when I asked for a non Alcoholic beverage. I'm just gonna skip over the food because if that's what they wanted to call it, they need to look at the food coming out of the kitchen... It doesn't look anything like the pictures they advertised and tasted awful. Hip hop music.Is not what an adult expects to go to a masquerade party... At almost sixty years old, I don't expect to get stamped " over 21" in a formal evening gown! The ticket said 21 and older, so why am I surrounded by a bunch of kids, some of which were in khakis and white shirts or wore mini cocktail dresses that looked like they were advertising for a strip joint, fashion alert, that is not formal! After tolerating this for just about two hours waiting to see what was magically going to happen at 9 o'clock.We left.. I'm not sure why 9 o'clock was the magic number for them. Because nothing happened, the highest count was 32 people in attendance. I could have went to petsmart and had more adult interaction. Wow. The whole experience was above and beyond what I expected. I mean I expected it to be good but this surpassed good. This was great! The coffee was over priced for a frugal coffee dude such as myself, so $4.50 was more than I am used to. However the cost was made up by the smooth and rich taste that awaited me. It was quite the cup. I was able to treat myself to the early bird wrap and it was a tastebud sensation overload. I was completely surprised at how incredible the wrap was. My husband and I ate lunch here for the first time. The restaurant has an eclectic decorated vibe. The menu has salads, bowls, wraps, steak sandwiches, bahn mi and other choices and there's a dinner menu as well. Our server was great! I had the Mediterranean flat bread which was delicious and I recommend, my husband had the smash burger - also a great choice. I want to give this place 5 stars but this is my second time here and both times the word disappointed comes to mind. On my first encounter, my friends and I came for Saturday Brunch. It was a loooong wait for food. Ultimately the food came and was delish, their drinks were strong and the server was very nice. This time I ordered an iced matcha but they were out of matcha (it's a Cafe). I ordered the winter root salad and the only roots in my salad are roasted carrots. I guess that counts but I was expecting beets or some other root veggie. Still, the food is delicious, the servers are very sweet and the decor here is retro fun. Just attended venue last night . Great time , live music was amazing. However, we ordered $90 worth of food that we barely touched. Empanadas are tiny bite sized frozen pizza ish , sausage and peppers served on a chapata bread that was not cut in half and had no peppers with a side of rice pilaf ( yukkkk) lastly a large plate of greasy french fries . The place has a totally cool vibe, but I'm just saying right now as someone who does own a business your servers whether downstairs is busy or not, should be attentive and not sitting around in a corner, talking nonstop, and not taking orders I was in there for about two hours before I got served food and I only got a salad and a flatbread pizza. Also, another thing I saw your workers should not be drinking while on the job you're losing money on liquor, and in the future that is not the greatest situation God forbid anything happened between a customer and one of your workers. They have great shows and some of the staff are wonderful. Kids took me for birthday Brunch. Parking is awful, I scratched my bumper trying to back into a spot in the cramped lot. Beautiful decor, but service was slow, WORST bloody mary I ever had and overpriced. My wrap was good, but my son said his Eggs Benedict was flavorless. I went to this restaurant for the first time on Valentines day. The place was beautiful and romantic but I was extremely disappointed. While making the reservations they wanted for the entire party to be paid for. It was a prefix menu and if we were late the credit card will be charged. My party was there at 7pm because we had made reservations. The service was terrible. The young lady was nice to say the least. She came to the table to ask what we wanted to drink. She took our order and didnt see her until 9pm when we asked her what is happening with our order. Everyone around us came in afterwards and received there food, ate and were leaving. They never kepted us updated, didnt come back to ask if we wanted anymore drinks. In fact when we received our food at 9:45pm we had to ask for some cold water. The food was tasteless. The best thing I had was the mash potatoes and I truly think it was because I was starving. We are now paying we even had to get up and walk to the register because that even took forever. Drinks were absolutely terrible. Bartenders were so overwhelmed they could barely pay attention to what they were mixing. Aside from the fact that the bar area was like 6 square feet. I don't understand why they don't have a professional bar set up. I had a strawberry mule and it was awful so I tried a margarita and it was just as gross. Also, your beer is served to you in a can. No glass. Kinda trashy for such an upscale establishment. Food offerings are pretty narrow unless you love pork belly and bone marrow. Service took forever. I simply cannot understand why this place would receive any negative reviews! First of all, I have absolutely no trouble parking here, as there is adequate street parking in addition to the lot. The atmosphere and food are amazing, and Chef Rob has a particular genius. The menu is varied and interesting and I've only had the most delicious selections here. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, and they all seem to work well together, like a "family". ( I liken them to the staff on the TV series "The Bear"!) Besides the regular menu, I've ordered Tapas items and Happy Hour items that were generous and scrumptious. A most important element for me is that , since I sometimes go out to eat alone, I feel safe as a woman alone, and I always seem to meet interesting people. I also get the sense that they are looking for new and innovative ideas to help the business grow and be even more attractive. And last but not least, I'm really hoping my daughter will choose The Silk Factory as her wedding venue! Seriously folks, check this place out! read more

Venue is beautiful, food was very good, the service though was very very poor. We were ignored for a solid 20 mins after asking for a waiter/waitress 4 to 5 times. The server gave off a vibe like they would rather be anywhere else in the world then working their. Other employees were clearly surrounded around the bar drinking galavanting. Immature staff for sure, if you wanna be the party life of the establishment I ain't the boss so be it but atleast tend to your customers. Very frustrating place has a lot of potential if they weed out the young staff who's more interested in theirselves other then the paying customers. The food is incredible!!! The lox bagel is soooo good, the Newburgh cheesesteak is DELICIOUS, the fun grilled cheese is phenomenal, the breakfast sandwich is out of this world. I can keep going. What a beautiful space! The food is great too. I have had several meals here now and they have all been excellent. My favorite is the fun grilled cheese, not your average grilled cheese, it's elevated to a whole new level. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Pastries and coffees are all delicious too!
