Best rolls ever ate them in Helen Hayes hospital and ramies in mahopac wish I could order for myself but they only do wholesale such a shame

After grabbing some lunch a couple doors down, I popped in to get some pastries for Father's Day weekend. I was greeted when I walked in and I took some time figuring out what to get since there was a bunch of items that looked delicious. Some of the ones I got were carrot cake, strawberry cheese, and vanilla cake. The pieces were enough to share and the prices were really decent. It came out to around 13 bucks for everything. The staff was great with putting everything together in boxes and checking me out at the register. Everyone loved the pastries when I brought them back to where we were staying and snacked on them all weekend long. I can see why this is a favorite in the area and I'm happy I went in there at the last minute. The kids and adults from our crew approve of the sweet treats. read more

Perhaps we got day-old (or more) pastries, but they weren't very fresh. The chocolate dipped almond horseshoe had a strange smell. Trying to bite into the ends with the chocolate coating was absolutely impossible. It was literally hard as a rock. A fork stabbed into it couldn't even penetrate. A good portion of this pastry was trashed. Napoleon was ok. Rugelach were ok. Blueberry Danish was pretty good. Bread and rolls completely missed the mark. Tasted more like supermarket bread and rolls than bakery bread and rolls. This was our second time here, but it's likely our last time. read more

I really wanted to love this place because I love the Rockland bakery going towards the Pallisades Mall. I ordered a black and white cookie, 3 everything bagels, two chocolate donuts, and one brioche roll. The total was about 6$ for everything which wasn't bad at all. I arrived around 9:00am during the week. I was expecting fresh baked goods and unfortunately I got a hard, cracked black and white cookie. Semi soft chocolate doughnuts, semi fresh bagels, and a dry brioche roll. I don't know, I feel like I bought days old products at a discounted rate. On the plus side the prices were awesome, and the women at the front were very friendly. I will continue to visit the other one that's all. read more

The best cakes not dry at all and I definitely recommend there pastries, the cannolis are fire. The service is immaculate everybody is bilingual so they speak spanish and english. The location is a little questioning but it is actually not bad at all. I definitely recommend. read more

It's great to have a local bakery near home. It's a stand alone bakery.. not attached to a big box grocery store. Staff is friendly and helpful. While it's not the Nanuet location, the breads are still Rocklands quality. Donuts, bagels, turnovers, challah, baguettes, cookies. Parking is right out their door on Broadway. No steps. usually a big fan of this place, have been going here for a sweet fix for years. the bakers there are usually pleasant and do explain what certain items are without a issue and are patient when your figuring out your order. pretty clean there and organized when i shop there. the prices are fair for their desserts. rather pay 2.75 for a single slice of cheesecake here then pay $5 plus for a slice of cheesecake at supermarket or restaurant. also love the wide section of choices to get and they have the best rainbow cakes. read more

Rockland Bakery is one of those "hit and miss" places. Some items are good while others tend to be dry and lack taste. Once the novelty of being in the factory wears off, you realize it is basically just a bakery with a novelty. Some breads like the raisin challah were dry and the rye bread lacked that real rye bread taste. One problem you always run in to is that this place is always packed. Good for the owner but bad for the customer. Depending on who you have serving you, that can range from downright nasty and impatient to decent. Since they are always so busy, none of the workers really have much time to answer questions or describe the items to you. This bakery is quite a distance from me here in New Jersey, but the times I have been here, it didn't really impress me. read more

Disappointed. The coffee cake was dry and tasteless. The Napoleon pastry was old and like jello. The stuff was old, I think they over prepped and I got old stuff. I give their cannoli sad thank you's to friends and coworkers, I go in regularly for their chocolate covered macaroons and if you have an event you must order their pretzel rolls! today I wanted an almond croissant. I had seen Rockland Bakery conveniently located opposite McDonalds.and decided to try it. It was clean, smelled wonderful and the almond croissants were great!! Next door to our fav barbershop Umberto's - every time I take my son & myself to get a haircut, always stop in to pick up fresh rolls, chocolate croissants and our fav. - rainbow pastry cake! Prices are very reasonable compared to many other bakeries. Pies are good also. They sell bagels, various breads, donuts, pastries, cookies, and many stop in for sit down coffee. Rockland Bakery totally rocked! Came in to get a dessert for a luncheon and was totally pleased at their selection and prices. We settled on Irish soda bread and cheesecake. Now, Irish soda bread is often a dry and disappointing treat only eaten in the spirit of St Paddys and smothered in butter but Rockland Bakery did a great job of keeping it moist. Always bring out of town guests to have the "experience" of a busy active behind the scenes bakery, complete with Huge conveyor belts spewing out bagels. Breads are the best including Challahs, Irish soda bread, Italian semolina breads and baguettes. In the sweets department we love black and white cookies, rugelach. Unfortunately the cakes have gone downhill--been going there for 20 years. Chocolate Babka lack sufficient butter to be authentic. read more
