I was so excited to try Giulia but was so let down! The pictures of the food online looked so good! We ordered the bread to start with and it looked so amazing but had a bland taste. I ordered the seafood cavatelli and they brought out a plate of seafood and sauce.. I had to ask the waiter where the pasta was. They had forgotten the pasta in my pasta dish!! So weird. They eventually got me one with noodles in it lol but the sauce was so watery and just not good. The waiter ended up taking the cavatelli off my bill and I didn't even have to ask so that was nice. Great service & ambience but nothing special about this place. Definitely not going back. read more

We had an absolutely terrible experience at the place. Based on reviews, we broke our cardinal rule of never dining in a hotel based restaurant. Went there for a special occasion, and were disappointed to the core. When we got there, we had to wait for about 7-8 minutes at the check in counter(in plain sight of the restaurant staff). Several people(including two managers) passed by without as much as looking at us. Eventually the hotel receptionist stopped by and got the restaurant staff to pay attention. We were eventually seated, and for several minutes, nobody stopped by. When the waiter finally did, he told us that there were three things in the kids menu, but he only remembered two. So he left to look at the third one. We saw him walk over to two successive parties who came after us. He got their orders, scuttled between them and then made drinks for both of them (waiters make cocktails themselves-there weren't any dedicated bartenders). We eventually complained to a manager who also had been ignoring us. She got the waiter over in a few more minutes, only to take the kids' order out of the two options he had previously told us. Eventually, the kids food arrived 65 minutes after we arrived. Nobody took our orders yet. At that point we had to vocally and loudly complain for them to pay attention. I can go on and on, but you get the point. Service was passable towards the end, as the managers were involved. They comped us two beverages to make up for the delays. We eventually left the restaurant 140 minutes after arriving, still a little hungry, but not daring to ask for more. Food was very average. Deserts were very good(but fairly uninventive). You wouldn't catch me dead in a hotel based restaurant again. Stay away unless you have the patience of a Buddhist monk (and if you are a Buddhist monk, you should first try hanging upside down by a thread to test yourself...). read more

Was staying at the Emery hotel and was here on a work trip. I was told by my colleagues to try this place as it was so close. I love the interior and it's a great addition to the hotel. Easily one of the nicer hotel restaurants I have seen. The service was pretty good, not too special. I guess I sat in the further part of the bar so I seldom saw employees near me. The real disappointment was the food. The meatballs had decent flavor but were cold inside. After that, I had the pappardelle. To be fair I have been absolutely dissatisfied with most for the pappardelle recently even at my favorite joints. This one was not much better. The pasta was too wide. I mean it was like they took lasagna sheets and paired them down. The meat was almost non existent and the meat that was there was not tender but instead they were like little overcooked cubes of meat. The tomatoes were too strong, almost too acidic for the dish and I really wasn't impressed. I ended up leaving my food. For 60 bucks without any alcohol it was too much. The quality of the ingredients and cold food made it seem like it was reheated or prepackaged. I will definitely not be returning. read more

The ambience is very nice and modern, with a nice bar attached to it. We started out with the mozzarella and watched the guy make it from scratch. It was pretty cool and the cheese was decent. I had the funghi pizza, which was way too large for one person. I had 2 slices for dinner and saved 4 slices to eat for breakfast (love cold pizza) and dinner the next day. I enjoyed the flavor a lot but thought it was a bit too oily. Didn't have room for dessert. Setting was lovely. High ceilings. Very spacious. Servers were very friendly. The valet racially profiled my family and me, asking us to leave 30 minutes before closing, despite many guests still seated in the dining and common areas. They poured our water before we arrived, which was unusual and tasted off. The pizza was burnt and unappetizing, and the pasta was undercooked. As we were leaving, we overheard a white valet making comments about us, which felt odd given that we are mostly underage. I hope they can improve their service. read more

Every element felt like you were at dinner and a show! We don't drink so we ordered the most fantastic mocktails- 'The Essence of Verdigis' and 'From Nostalgia Springs of Wellness'. These drinks were phenomenal! SO- You absolutely must start off with mozzarella made right at your table, you learn about the origin, the sciences and ingredients while your mouth waters. At the first bite my eyes watered because it was so good! Next, the Napoli pizza- tomato, burrata and basil- A flavor burst from heaven! Main courses- the Agnolotti, which was perfectly salted and filling. We had a really good experience. Three of us shared a bottle of wine and a series of plates. The wine (Montefalco Rosso 2017) was the recommendation of our server and she nailed it. We started with the Napoli pizza. It was very tasty. Had better but have had a LOT worse elsewhere. The Caesar salad was excellent as were the Suppli (risotto balls). I was less a fan of the chicken parm but it was still decent. Also there is no valet and parking was less than easy. Party of 3 girls- The service was 3/10. The drinks were 2/10, we got dirty Martini's and they were absolutely horrible. Worst I've ever had in my life. The Ceaser salad was disgusting. Would probably rate a 2/10. We split the chicken parm and it was actually okay. That was a 7/10 and we also split the ricotta gnocchi and hated it. 2/10. Our bill was wayyyy over priced for bad food, bad service and bad drinks. I do not recommend this establishment. It was good but the brusselkraut was extremely salty, and that was the only negative aspect. We will for sure come back and try other things on the menu like pasta. While staying at the Emery I went to happy hour--I highly recommend going during happy hour. The food and drinks are half the price of any other time, and it's the same size portions as lunch/dinner. The bartenders were friendly and I didn't have to fight to make an order.. you know when you're trying to get your drinks in before the end of happy hour :) But I tried the black kale salad & napoli pizza, both tasty. The space is stunning! From walking in from valet, thru the bar and to the dining area and kitchen...a treat for the eyes! The table-side pulled mozzarella was wonderful to see! Very fun and informative gentleman provided that entertainment. The first pasta dish was the pepper one (I Loooooove me some pepper!) and it was good (better at Hyacinth) but a bit too chewy and too saucy. It was trying a little too hard but I still ate my half of the share on that. Next was the chicken. Eh. Trying way too hard on that also with what, 8 ingredients on the plate? I didn't finish mine nor did my friend when she kept biting into seeds from the citrus served on the plate. The broccoli rabbi train-wreck was highly recommended but we both hated it. Some odd sauce on it and chewy stringy overcooked veggie. The other pasta dish was the ricotta stuffed dumplings ("about the size of ping pong balls") which were good but after a while the taste got boring. After being blown away by the ambiance I was disappointed the meal wasn't the same wow factor. I would totally come back to the bar and have apps and try to get the table side mozz! read more

Its been about a week since I ate here and I have to confess I'm still thinking (and drooling) about this place. Oh my! Seriously everything was so delicious! We ordered a couple appetizers & for my main I ordered the pepper pasta. I wasn't expecting it to be a big deal since its just pasta, cheese & pepper but man was I wrong! Possibly one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. The way they layered the heat of the pepper was pure perfection & I was thinking how did they do that?! I came here for lunch with two companions. My Italian mother in law ordered the pizza and really liked it, which is saying a lot. She likes her wood-fired pizza. It had a nice bubbly, crispy, chewy crust and was topped with the appropriate amount of sauce and fresh mozzarella. If you're Italian, that means the crust is not sagging under the weight of gobs of sauce and heaps of gluey cheese. My health-conscious Russian friend ordered the avocado sandwich minus meat. The waiter cheerfully accommodated his request. I didn't get a taste of the sandwich, but since my health-conscious friend didn't eat the fries that came with it, I got to sample a few. They were out of this world! Crispy outside, potato-y inside, seasoned with garlic and rosemary. I would have eaten every one of them except I was being polite. Next time I'll order some for myself. I had the cacio e pepe (pecorino and pepper spaghetti.) I thought the pasta was perfectly al dente but MIL said it was a tiny bit too soft for her taste. I loved it but it was REALLY peppery.
