Lunch - chicken parm and mushroom pizza
    Neha I.

Been here for dinner and lunch! For dinner had the salmon entree which I thought was really salty. Their brussel sprouts were really good but really spicy. I loved the lunch! Chicken parm sandwich and mushroom pizza were superrr good.

We waited a few minutes for a host to seat us, but after that the waiter was pretty good and attentive. He took a little long to take orders and bring the bill but we could tell he was working hard. The vibe is great here, fancy but comfortable and good for a casual date night. We ordered the whipped goat cheese, calamari and pizza. The appetizers were a little smaller than expected and being charged $1 per half slice of extra bread for the dip seemed a little much for our group of 5. The calamari was pretty good, but a lot of batter. The pizza was good, great crust that was crisp but had a nice chew and a thin crust. Overall a nice experience but a little pricey for the portions.

Service was great! Every person we encountered had a great attitude and were very attentive. We went a few times considering we were staying at the hotel and each time we met some great people. Food was amazing. I'm definitely going back to try their fresh, daily made pasta. But the pizza, meatballs, and calamari that we ordered all tasted so good! This place seems like a great location for date night, drinks with friends, or a nice family dinner. The bar was also pet friendly which is huge for us :)

Giulia is a classy spot (keep in mind the prices reflect a fancy dinner)! Our server was friendly and made some nice recommendations. I enjoyed my beet salad, and the olive oil cake with blood orange was a great shareable dessert. The restaurant is inside the Emery hotel, but it's easy to access.

It was an unexpected visit. Was hungry and looking for some Italian on Friday night lol. My oh my... the expectation was met. I got Caesar salad, Focaccia bread, Pappardelle and Duck pasta, I dont remember how to call it :) and risotto on the side. All were outstanding, definitely going back for Focaccia. The service was excellent, server was charming. Love the atmosphere since it's inside the hotel, parking was a bit tough ( street parking) but there some ramps around there.

This was my second time at Giulia! While this place was good, I do think there are better Italian spots in the cities. We did love the vibes inside and our service was great! We got the whipped goat cheese, which we loved and said we would come back just for that. Although I do think they need to provide more bread and char it less... it was a little on the burnt side. I got the carbonara which was good but did have an odd kick to it, I don't know if they added some additional spice but it didn't taste like a simple carbonara. For dessert we got an apricot tart which was delicious! My friend and I both agreed that while we would return if someone wanted to go, we wouldn't necessarily recommend it as our first spot for Italian. The first time I went I got the Cacio Pepe and had the same feeling as this time. So maybe next time I'd try a pizza!

I went to Giulia's last Friday for the first time and it was overall a good experience except for the slow, almost non-existent service. Our server, Tom, tried his best, but it felt like we were forgotten for major chunks of the night. We found ourselves looking around for service way too frequently and it seemed like Tom was covering almost all the whole floor by himself, so we presumed that maybe one of the other workers called out that night. While the service was subpar, the food was amazing. I got the chicken parm and it was really tasty. The inside is very stunning and I found that sitting around the bar offers a better experience while you watch your food being made. They're located in the Emery hotel and street parking will be your best option. I plan to give them another try, but really hoping for prompt service to match the beautiful ambiance.

Made a lunch reservation on a Wednesday afternoon. It was not busy at all, despite business folks having lunch that must work downtown Minneapolis. Giulia is located in the Emery Hotel and it is absolutely gorgeous. It's so open and inviting, the service was fantastic, and parking wasn't too bad downtown. We ordered a few mocktails to start: Mora -- which has Blackberry, Lemon, Elderflower Tonic, Agave. Very fresh and very tasty! For starters we tried Giulia'S Caesar and the Parm fries. Both were pretty good. The fries could've been a bit more seasoned and the salad was dressed well. The pasta and the pizza were the highlights. The orecchiette was creamy, savory, and had the right amount of saltiness. The peas had a nice bite to them also. The pizza was great! Loved the goat cheese and the red wine braised tomatoes. Would've loved a bit more prosciutto, but that's just my preference. I would totally go back for a work lunch or dinner anytime!

Out of town review. Came here on a Thursday for their table side mozzarella. Located inside a hotel. Good vibes and decor. Read from other reviews that parking was hit and miss but we were lucky and got a spot on the street but looks like there's a lot of lots nearby. Seem like a lot of other people were ordering their table side mozzarella. We also ordered a pizza and chicken Parm. Mozzarella was all right when we first got it. It was soft and had a good pull to it, but as it sat and got cold, it got harder. The bread that they served with it was too hard. All the other toppings were pretty good. Pizza was a good size and I definitely think I could've shared it. My husband liked his chicken Parm dish too. Brownie points were having a highchair. Service was great and felt attended to. Overall, 3.8/5

Good service, unique ambiance and an excellent appetizer helped Giulia score high during my visit. Tucked inside the historic Emery hotel, this restaurant features high marbled ceilings, flattering lighting, elegant Grecian columns and strategically placed greenery which all contribute to a relaxed yet elegant ambiance. The menu of Italian fare changes with the seasons, but seems to offer pizza, salads and pasta on regular rotation. My work group of 8 received extra friendly, prompt service from our waiter, and the polenta croquetta appetizer was wonderful. Crisp on the outside, soft and well seasoned on the inside with a delectably creamy dip, we made this dish disappear in no time! For my main, I opted for the ricotta and mushroom pasta, which was beautifully presented and a nice portion size. The savory notes were good, not great, but I appreciated the unique flavor combination and pasta shape. Our side dish order of rainbow carrots was more delicious than expected, as the carrots were cooked expertly to bring out their natural sweetness while maintaining an appropriately firm texture. Unfortunately the risotto side fell short, lacking both flavor and possessing an off-putting, mushy texture. I'd eat here again to try dessert and any standout new savory selections.

Great experience at Giulia for a girls night! Started with an Aperol Spritz, it was delicious! We shared all the food and apps. Got the whipped goat cheese and oven-fried focaccia. Both were fantastic! Whipped goat cheese was my favorite. We got the Napoli pizza, caramelle pasta, and carbonara pasta. Pizza was perfectly cooked, crust was great! Carbonara pasta was my favorite but both pastas were great. Our server was kind and attentive. Can't wait to go back!

    Pappardelle with pork ragu
    Mark M.

Feeling Italian and decided on Giulia at the Emery. It was a Sunday evening after a long work day so I sat at the bar and ordered. So much seating both at the bar and high tops, low tops, booths. I asked the server what I should get for an entree and she said everyone usually gets the Pappardelle with pork Ragu so I went with it. You can tell the Ragu was cooked low and slow with many depths of flavor. The Pappardelle noodles were not bad. Very thin and light. The Caesar was overdressed which I didn't mind bc the sourdough croutons soaked it up. Highly recommend stopping into Giulia if you're solo looking for a calm and chill vibe or a group of friends.

I was here for dinner with some colleagues and folks we were hosting. This is location inside the Marriot. We got a separate room and a fixed menu which worked out well. Service was freindly and attentive. The food was just average. The arancini and chicken parmesan and caeser salad were all super rich. The best part ... the chocolate torte for dessert. Others also had similar feedback on their food but there was one person who raved about their unique ice cream.

Boludo seems to be Argentinian-owned and family-run. I ordered the Porteño and asked for extra parmesan because of an Instagram reel I've seen with parmesan covering the crust. Due to a small misunderstanding, they ended up giving me something even better.... A fully parmesan-covered pizza. It was probably the best thing I've eaten that entire trip. Truly a great blend of salt, acid, fat, and heat. The second day I tried the Campo and tried to ask for the same cheese covering but ended up with the style I saw in the reel with the crust covered in cheese. It was still good, but not as good as my first order. They have a pretty solid Caesar salad as well! I would genuinely fly back to try this place again.

We started with the app bread, which was super good and a great way to kick off the meal. I decided to order two pizzas and split both in half, which let me try four different varieties. It was definitely the right move. The bacon and golden pineapple pizza was one of my favorites. It was refreshing, had a nice little kick, and further confirmed that pineapple absolutely belongs on pizza. The lemon ricotta with goat cheese was also tasty, but the cheese was so rich that it started to dry out my mouth after a couple of slices. The meatball and ricotta pizza was a classic done really well. The meatballs were especially flavorful and clearly high quality. My favorite of the four was the hot salami and chili pepper pizza. It was absolutely divine with just enough heat, and the salami was perfectly crisped. The only downside to the pizzas was the crust. It was very thin, which made it difficult to hold all the toppings without them sliding off. There also was not much sauce, which made some bites feel a little dry. Overall, Black Sheep delivers creative and delicious pizzas in a fun atmosphere with fast, friendly service. Despite a few issues with the breading of the pizzas, I would definitely come back to try even more of the menu.

When my friend and I walked in, we came into a fairly spacious dimly lit space with loads of people inside. We were immediately informed that there would be over 1.5hr wait for a walk-in table. We were given the option to wait for bar seating as it would probably be quicker - and surely, it was. We did have to wait quite a bit, but it was a tolerable amount of time and definitely less than what it would have taken for an actual table. My friend and I decided to share 2 pizza pies as we wanted to get a taste of two different flavors, so we eventually settled on Korean BBQ & Perfect Pickle Pie. KOREAN BBQ As it was created by a Korean chef, it definitely had true authentic Korean flavors. As a Korean myself, I was very familiar with this soy vinaigrette and have tried this on many salad before - so, it was hitting home for me. Also, you can't go wrong with the bulgogi/beef short ribs known to all those who had Korean BBQ before. The combination of the sauces that they use for this pizza is definitely very rich, full of umami. I personally enjoyed it. PERFECT PICKLE PIE This pie was a totally different flavor to the Korean BBQ. It's less rich and maybe can be overpowered or considered more bland compared to other pizza flavors. But when tried together with the BBQ, it balances out the richness of the BBQ with the more subtle/less umami flavors. This pie gives more of a tangy/sour taste that pickles provide and more of a crunch due to the chips that are added on top. The dill is present, but not overpowering. It's a nice low-key kind of taste that people who like pickles will enjoy. Overall, the flavors were very rich in every pizza pie that we had that our mouths were bursting with flavor. It was definitely the most unique pizza toppings that I've had and can see why it's so highly regarded. I can tell that they really are meticulous with their every process and that their pizza guy by the wood fire oven is expertise in what he does. My friend and I walked out quite satisfied and I was honestly more full than I expected.

It consists of a black unique pasta noodle that is easy to eat, strung along with orange clumps of flavor - Mentaiko lumanche pasta was okay, my sister really liked it - The brick-oven Margarita pizza was good, very nice dough texture but the portion could be bigger - Maitake karaage had a good crisp, chewy texture paired with a decent sauce and refreshing seaweed - Gyoza had a neat appearance but nothing special taste-wise, same with the mushroom - I tried their non-alcoholic drinks- Kosho, Royal and Akai Senshi. Both taste good but overpriced for the amount of drink you get. Especially for the Royal, $12 for a small milk tea you is egregious. Even for the Kosho, you get 4 tablespoons worth of juice in a huge wine glass. I'm not a wine lover so I can't really say I enjoyed the Akai drink but if that's part of your palate all I can say is that it tastes like red wine - Service was stellar, they're quick on taking orders and replacing plates/culinary. Staff are all friendly - Interior can be a bit loud and cramped. The narrow hallway design forces the noises of the kitchen and other patrons to condense. The music they play is R&B but the volume could be turned up

Wife and I went to Sanjusan for my birthday and overall it was a very positive experience. Tip #1…read moreis use valet here. It's only $10 + tip for the valet and street parking around here is very stressful and the ramps around here cost just as much if not more. From the time we arrived staff were kind, and our server was very friendly and made us feel welcome. The interior of this restaurant was also gorgeous, simple, refined and minimalist. The menu can be a bit hard to navigate since so many menu options are unique but the server expertly guided us through. We ordered the Maitake Karaage, Duck Tataki, Mentaiko Lumache, chicken thigh yakitori, and a wagyu yakitori. Likes Vs Dislikes: LIKE the Maitake Karaage - this was the best dish of the evening. Fried mushrooms with scallion mayo, gave the texture and flavor of fried calamari but it's actually mushroom. LIKE the Mentaiko Lumache - this pasta was incredible. Perfectly al dente noodles with a unique almost cup shape that gave a nice bite of noodle and sauce together. The sauce was delicious! Dislike the yakitori - felt like there was little to no value here. You pay $7 per skewer which contains barely 3 bites of chicken. It was pretty average tasting too. Wouldn't waste the money. Like and dislike the Duck Tataki - delicious in flavor, nice and fatty, ponzu and mango added a great flavor. Disliked that for $22 you get hardly 4-5 bites of duck. Tiny tiny skinny bites mind you. Felt like the value wasn't there for this fish given how good it actually tasted. I'd look elsewhere on the menu. Overall, given what we liked, the ambience and staff, I am giving this a 5/5. If money isn't a factor then come here and go crazy, but if value matters then stray away from the yakitori and Duck Tataki, just my 2 cents.

We ordered the Porteño (meat pizza) and the Peras (vegetarian) since our son is vegetarian, and both were excellent. Even the leftovers held up wonderfully--reheated in an air fryer, they tasted fantastic. We also tried the churro donuts. On their own they were okay, but with the sauce, they were really good. Highly recommended for pizza lovers, and a great pairing with your favorite beverage--beer, wine, or a non-alcoholic choice

The margherita pizza itself was very tasty, and the cheese-covered crust definitely makes for a striking presentation. That said, the shredded cheese on the crust was a bit overwhelming and took away from actually enjoying the crust itself. Our biggest issue was honestly the customer service and overall flow of the restaurant. As first-time visitors, it was very unclear whether we were supposed to seat ourselves or order at the counter, and we didn't receive much direction when we asked. Everything is very self-serve, including grabbing your own plates and water, which is totally fine once you know the process, but better communication would really improve the experience. Overall, we enjoyed the pizza and appreciated the creative style, though vegetarian options were somewhat limited. We'd likely return and just know what to expect next time.
