    Oxtail Khao soi
    Angela C.

They serve one thing and it is excellent. I ordered the ox tail khao soi and we got a thai iced tea as well. Thai Iced Tea: The thai iced tea was quite good and definitely not the powdered stuff. Although it may be a little smaller than what I'm used to, it was still good. Oxtail Khao Soi: The oxtail khao soi was really flavorful and the noodles were awesome and cooked well. All the crispy bits on top were also amazing and the beef was perfectly tender. I'll have to come back and try their braised beef next time! (They were out).

After hearing great reviews about this place, it had been on my to try list for a while before I made it to Fremont. As a disclaimer, I've had khao soi in Thailand before so my standards are pretty high. I had wanted to dine in soon after the shop opened but I think their door was locked even though there were some customers inside. I tried again in an hour and the door opened easily. It's a little bigger when you step inside compared to how it looks from the exterior. The menu is accessible via a QR code (and it's also written in cursive on the chalkboard wall), and you can order through the website from the QR code. We ordered the oxtail and duck khao soi and I forgot to add a Thai iced tea so one of the employees helped me add that to the order later. The Thai iced tea was refreshing and tasty. Although I thought the noodles and broth were pretty standard for khao soi, the highlight was definitely the proteins. The oxtail fell off the bone easily and the duck was so tender; both proteins were honestly so delicious and I'd absolutely pay the extra upcharge for the proteins rather than getting the baseline khao soi. Definitely eager to come again for more.

Most of the place is self-service. Order using QR code and pay online. It was quite busy since we went on a weekend. The customer service was okay. The sai ua curry sausage was pretty pricey at $15. It was good, but for the portion and price I would skip it. Duck breast khao soi was yummy! Noodles were chewy and the duck breast melted in my mouth. I do wish the dish was hotter and there was more flavor and amount of soup.

Honestly all I have to say for this place is that it's phenomenal. You NEED to go try it. Actually 5/5 stars all around: food, service + ambiance. They pretty much only serve Khao Soi and as a Thai food lover, it doesn't get better than this. Thank you for having a vegan option, it's perfect. Thank you for not charging extra for using coconut milk in my Thai tea. The service was incredibly friendly and fast. I will go back 1000% and will be bringing everyone I know.

I've been to Ginger and Scallion 3 times, and I can personally say that they are very very consistent flavor-wise. Their Khao Soi is such a lovely combination of layered flavors and textures, the crunch from the toppings, the pickled vegetables, the fatty meat, and the flavorful curry. I would recommend sticking with the cheapest base meat option, the Braised Beef Khao Soi. The other upgraded meat choices sound fun but they are all on the exact same base khao soi, they don't change your overall meal experience much but result in almost 40-50% increase in price.

Being disappointed at the steak frites place, I decided to give this place a chance hoping for redemption. Same owners, different concepts. This place was very quiet and not many people were there. We were the only customer for most of our meal there. The person helping us was pretty direct which I like. You order on the QR code and pay as well. We got the duck Khao soi. Omg it was delicious. I love how tender and juicy the duck was. The crispy noodles on top with the smooth soft noodles and the flavor of the broth was all well balanced. I love everything about this dish. If I wasn't too full, I would have ordered the appetizers as it looks interesting. Definitely would come back and recommend..since I only tried one dish, I would like to come back to try other things before I can give it a 5 star

Walked into this small restaurant and was greeted by a friendly host. She helped us decide which items to choose! The flavors are out of this world! Delicious food here! We were going to share a bowl but decided to get our own. We are so glad we did because it was delicious !!

Overall: 4 stars Walk in restaurant in Northern Seattle that specializes in Khao Soi. I love that their menu has a range of proteins to choose from, so you could really personalize the broth to your liking. Duck Khao Soi - Love this bowl of comforting coconut curry, with unapologetic spice toned down to the American spice range. The duci is cooked glisteningly well, and works as an elevated protein compared to the traditional chicken. The blend of egg noodles, crisp noodles, and abundance of herbs and spices give it that it that hearty, soulful identity. I wish I could give this place 6 stars because it is really that good! I normally do not drink the broth of Khao Soi. I got the duck, and it was so tender and juicy. We also tried the dip, which was so refreshing and a great palate cleanser. Not to mention, the food comes out surprisingly fast despite how busy they are! So you can tell they are a very efficient team. Will definitely come back when I am in the area!

This place has been on my to-try list for the longest time and I finally got to go. Worth every bit of the wait. The khao soi here is my favorite I've had. And I've had it all over, NYC, LA, SF, Philly, you name it. Every single element was on point. The broth had so much depth and the duck was cooked perfectly, still juicy with zero gaminess. For those who've had the duck at Gion Duck Noodles in Kyoto (ik I'm comparing two completely separate cuisines), the execution of this duck is better. I got the braised beef on the side and holy shit. Most spots fail braised beef in one of two ways: overcook it and it's dry, or braise it so long that it falls apart but loses all its succulence. This one threaded the needle perfectly. Still had a bite to it while being completely succulent. One of the best I've had. The waiter suggested the Thai sausage and I'm so glad I listened. Really nice snap to it and packed a serious punch. Thai sausage is not easy to come by and I order it every chance I get. This is the version I'll be benchmarking against. Only thing I'm bummed about is missing the Hainanese chicken. It's one of my favorite dishes and I really hope they bring it back. Service was super friendly and the ambiance was really nice. Can't wait to get back to Seattle because this is absolutely on the list again!

Used to have chicken and rice but now only a khao soi spot. Street parking, indoor seating only, order through a QR code at the table. Beef tenderloin was tender and the base is super flavorful and rich & duck breast was also delicious and tender. Flavors can get overwhelming after awhile and portions are on the smaller side. Food came out quickly

Oxtail khao soi and beef tenderloin khao soi
    Mei W.

Best khao soi I've had!! Ive only been here twice and enjoyed both options ive gotten, the duck and beef tenderloin. Finished everything to the last drop! I wish the portion size was bigger though. The sua de (curry sausage) was delicious as well!! I want to try the oxtail next time! Service was quick and easy! Just need to order online through the qr code. Lunch time wasn't too busy on a weekday but usually busier during the nights.

This place was pretty good, I give it a 3.5 star overall. A good place to go if you like Khao Soi because that is their main entree. I was slightly disappointed because I thought they had Hainan Chicken and rice here. But overall it's good! Food wise: The flavor was good, presentation looks fine. I wish they put a little more meat in the bowl though. I felt like the protein portion is a bit small for the price. We got the American Wagyu and Beef Tenderloin Khao Soi and the Sai Ua Curry Sausage. Which everything was flavorful! Service wise: The staff was nice but you order yourself through your phone and they bring it out. You pay through your phone too, so there isn't too much service. Ambiance wise: The restaurant is on the smaller side, not the best place for big parties. But it looked clean and pretty good vibe overall. It's not a bad place to stop by and try!

The spice scale is definitely catered toward people who like less spicy food, so rest assured three or four is still fairly mild in spice.
