It was a little difficult to find since it is located in a gallery of salons. A good tip is that it's by Main Event. Melody was super friendly and it was easy to make an appointment on her website. I used a Groupon and she did a fantastic job on my nails! She had a lot of colors to choose from and even a really glittery silver. It looks like diamonds on your nails! I've received a ton of compliments, even from a stranger in a bar having to shop and look at my nails in awe. I got my Shellac done 6 days ago and I've been doing a ton of cooking and household chores and yet my nails still haven't chipped! I gave her 4 stars because I found out that my friend gets Shellac every 2 weeks and only pays $25 at a different place and Melody charges $45. This was my first time getting Shellac done, so I'm not sure what other places normally charge, but according to my friend, it seems to be pricey. I will say this though.. She does have a massive selection of colors to choose from! So if other places don't, then that could be why they charge less. I've also known friends that have gone to other places for Shellac and the next day, they had their nail chip.. UPDATE!! It has now been exactly ONE MONTH and my nails are still flawless! Wow. Just wow! I don't think I've ever been to a more thorough nail tech!! She does get in the zone while working so don't be offended if the conversation trails off at times. My unicorn holo gel has been on for 15 days and just now starting to show wear on the edges. Sigh... it's made me happy for half the month! Now I understand what people mean when they say they wish YELP gave the option of giving zero stars. Disclosure: I never actually got the service so the 1 star and the review is for Melody's horrible customer service and reneging on her word. I purchased a Groupon for services here and was really looking forward to getting a shellac pedicure. I booked an appointment online before the Groupon expired it was quick, got an email confirmation, so far so good. The morning of the appointment as I am getting ready to head out the door I get an email from Melody at Gemini. She says her daughter is super sick and she has to cancel the appointment but that since I am using a Groupon that she will honor it if I reschedule after the expiration date. I am also a mom , I know things happen and her kids come first so I wasn't even the slightest bit annoyed. Fast forward to this week when I am scheduling another appointment. Melody emails me and tells me that the Groupon expired so I have to pay the difference. Thinking that she must not remember who I was I forwarded her the email where she informed me she had to cancel my original appointment but that she would honor my Groupon if I rescheduled. This is where everything went downhill. She replied that I should contact Groupon with my concerns , that if I wanted to keep the appointment I had to pay the additional. I use online discount services all the time I am well aware that once they expire you loose the promotional value and can only use the value for the amount that you actually paid; however I had an appointment BEFORE the dang thing expired which she canceled and offered to honor after expiration so it was really just her short email response "Contact Groupon" that really infuriated me. She didn't acknowledge the email I forwarded her ,which came from her , no apology , just a tough luck pretty much. read more

I had a Groupon that I had purchased some time ago and never went because it was further away from my house than I realized. So of course, it expired. No biggie, still good for the cash value (not the promotional value) of $22 towards any services. Right? Well at least that's according to the rules set forth by Groupon to which the vendor has to agree. It's right there in writing folks! So finally I scheduled an appointment online (the only way to schedule) a pedicure. The Groupon was originally for a different service, but again, it is expired and is now just good for the cash value which never expires and is good for any services she provides. Again, this is in writing right on my Groupon that I presented her. Melissa refused to do anything other than the original service which makes no sense! What difference does it make??? I said, but this is just cash value now as it is expired and it says I can use it for whatever services. She said, well that's not my policy that's Groupon's policy. I'm like are you kidding??? Why wouldn't you just abide by the rules you agreed to and make the customer happy??? Not her, no, not Melissa!!! She is more concerned about her policy which is not in line with what she agreed with. No wonder her dumpy and dusty little hole in the wall hasn't been successful!!! Needless to say I contacted Groupon to which they apologized profusely and immediately credited me for the $22.00 cash value I had paid. They also asked her name so they could reach out to her to reexplain the rules of engagement. Soooo do not recommend! Poor service, tons of attitude and unyielding bad customer service!!! read more

Best manicure I've had in a loooong time. Melody is very meticulous about her work, which I appreciate. I got the Groupon shellac manicure with IBX treatment. My nails still look great a week out. I was very tired, having gotten off a busy 24 hr shift that morning, so I was glad that the atmosphere was quiet and peaceful without the typical loud salon chatter and blaring music. Melody was very professional and friendly and again, I have never seen a tech pay as much attention to detail as she did. She obviously takes great pride in her work and wants to make sure her client leaves happy with great nails that will last as long as possible. Thanks, Melody. This place has terrible customer service!The owner/employee requires that appointments are booked online then will often cancel a few hours before you're due to arrive. I have always agreeably rescheduled for her but today was the last straw! An accident on 183N caused me to be 20 minutes late for my appt. She refused to do my nails, stating it would make her late for the woman after me. No offer was made to at least remove the old shellac and make my nails somewhat presentable for NYE. I'm a nail snob. I've had my nails done all over the world, from the Spa at the Hard Rock Hotel in the Dominican Republic to the Red Door on Fifth Avenue in New York. Melody at Gemini is possibly the best manicure I've ever had. Her attention to detail is great, and everyone has their own files and buffers to increase her already excellent sanitation. She offers SHELLAC, a new gel/polish solution, which has CHANGED MY LIFE. I type all day and am very hard on my nails and was never able to keep a manicure without chips for more than three days. Now I can go two weeks with bright red or black without an issue! Although the pricing may seem high to someone used to the $9 cheapo manicures at the walk-in salons, when you consider that you're paying for quality, sanitation and you won't need your nails done for two weeks, it's completely reasonable. You get what you pay for and will become an addict like me. Melody is the best. You'll love her! read more

I had been to Melody several times for pedicures and usually had very pleasant experiences. On the last appointment, I was unsatisfied. I notified her that evening or the next morning (I don't remember) and told here that I wasn't satisfied and asked for half of my payment to be returned. After some back and forth she admitted that we were both late ( i was about five minutes late due to traffic and when I arrived she was still not ready for me) and that she 'rushed' my pedicure. She also said that she would give me a 50% refund. This was back on February 15, 2019. I have been waiting patiently, but now, after I have sent another atext and email, she said that she would not give me a refund and that she could offer half off on my next appointment. I had already cancelled and told her that I would no longer use her services. Since it appears that she is refusing to return my $45 (it's not the money, it's the principal), I am writing this review to warn others that if you should receive subpar service from Melody, she will say that she will refund your money but will refuse to honor her words. Melody has been my "go-to girl" for both gel manicures and quality pedicures for a few years now. She pays amazing attention to detail and I've even had her manicures last beyond the typical two-week lifespan. (And she has an AMAZING gel color selection!) As for my feet, because of some medical issues, I don't trust them to very many people but she works with me beautifully. I imagine she only takes Groupons when she has no one else to fill the spot but if a customer calls without a groupon she makes up some lame excuse and cancels the appointment. I have been a customer of Gemini Nails for a few months and love how well done my shellac manicures are done. Melody is very conscientious about her work! She takes pride in what she does and it shows. I've been to other places where my nail technician is multi tasking (answering phones, greeting customers, etc.) but not here. I never feel rushed.
