I stopped in on a Friday afternoon to get a manicure for a family wedding. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This was, in my opinion, a terrible experience and a complete waste of money.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Aside from not being very friendly, the technician used clippers on my nails and spent little to no time filing them. I honestly do a better job of filing and buffing my nails at home. The cheap clear polish applied to my nails started bubbling and cracking the next day. I now have nails where half of the polish has cracked off and the other half is impossible to get the polish off. This was my first manicure, and after this experience it will probably be my last. I want to share my experience so future clients can make an informed medical decision prior to receiving services from this nail salon. On 12/4 I had a gel manicure and gel pedicure with a referred technician - One week later I developed severe itching between my toes, skin maceration, followed by painful skin fissures ("paper-cut" like tears) between nearly all of my toes, burning, and major sensitivity. My Primary Care Physician has confirmed tinea pedis - caused by dermatophyte fungi (not properly cleaning, sanitizing pedicure tubs, or sterilizing tools). I am now treating what appears to be a fungal skin infection that developed shortly after the service. While I can't say with certainty how or where the infection was acquired, the timing directly followed my pedicure (timeline aligns with the exposure & development of a fungal infection). Untreated or possible progression of this development could lead to Secondary Bacterial Skin Infection, Cellulitis, Lymphangitis, or Sepsis - becoming very serious. I did not notice any visible sanitation concerns during my visit, but given my outcome, I strongly encourage future clients to: * Ask about foot bath disinfection procedures * Ensure tools are properly sterilized * Avoid services if you have any cuts, shaving, or broken skin I hope this review helps others take precautions. I recommend monitoring your feet closely after pedicure services and seeking care promptly if symptoms appear. read more

The salon itself is cute, and I appreciated how quickly I was taken care of. I got both a pedicure and a dip manicure during my visit. Unfortunately, the pedicure felt extremely rushed (it was the fastest I've ever had). The leg massage lasted about five minutes and didn't include my feet. You know that feeling when it's clear the person is inexperienced? That was definitely the case here. Steps were skipped or done half-heartedly. My toenail cuticles weren't cleaned up properly, the shape was more square than I'd preferred, and the polish color didn't match what I selected (I didn't realize this until the manicure began and then noticed the mismatch). The dip manicure also left something to be desired. The technician seemed distracted; he spilled acetone all over my hand, which dried out my skin, and kept dropping tools. While he did follow the general process for dip nails, he rushed through it, and although the final result looked okay, the overall experience wasn't very good (i.e., I've had much better) This salon might be hit or miss depending on who you get. If you choose to go, I'd recommend making an appointment with someone experienced to ensure a better and more consistent experience. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I came here 3 times. 3 strikes and they're out. The first time I went, I got regular paint that immediately chipped the next day. I went back to get it fixed with gel the next day. No discount but I paid the difference to upgrade to gel. My second time here, I asked them to push the cuticles back. They pushed it back while dry and it hurt like F! The third time, they used a dremel on my cuticles and it frayed. I specifically asked the manager to ask her to soak and push them back and trim. Unfortunately after this visit I have left the salon after a gel pedicure with crooked streaky gel polish, as well as the skin on my feet still feeling very rough. If you're looking around for a nail place, make sure this one's on your list and at least give it a try. I have been here only once and am in the process of booking my second appointment. I have been going to another great nail place closer to my house, but I decided to drive a bit further and give Hydra Nails a try for several reasons. Booking/ environment: I appreciate the availability of online appointment booking with my busy work schedule. Clean, comfortable ambiance, spacious, and close to major shopping areas, so I'm able to take care of errands on my nail days. Service: Everyone was kind and professional. I have to give extra kudos to the gentleman in the front and Leslie. I was trying a new color and doing acrylic for the first time. I felt bad because I didn't expect them to be as helpful as they were. Leslie took her time to help me find a matching color and the gentleman in the front explained the acrylic process and my refill options for my next visit. It could have been a quick, in and out kind of experience, which I always expect, but they definitely went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. So even if others haven't had this exact experience, I think it speaks to their overall customer service standards. Quality: You can see for yourself in the photo. This is exactly 3.5 weeks in, and I'm booking my refill appointment at the 4 week mark. No chipping, peeling, or anything that is bothersome reminding me to go in (aside from the obvious growth). Acrylic was done so well. The powder was applied close to the nail/ flat as I requested. Leslie was very skilled in her application and shaping. Any OCD client would approve of her.
