Unfortunately, my experience with her customer service has been very disappointing. On one occasion, I was running about 10 minutes late due to unforeseen circumstances. I called the front desk to let them know I was on my way. While I understand and respect a salon's late-arrival policy, Paulina refused to see me. I accepted that and simply started booking with another technician. Today, when I requested an appointment with Paulina again, I was informed that she had told the manager she was not comfortable servicing me. I found this both surprising and offensive, especially since I had moved on without any issue after the missed appointment. A salon visit should be a relaxing and welcoming experience. Enforcing appointment policies is completely understandable, but refusing to provide service to a client based on a single late arrival-especially after the client communicated the delay, feels unprofessional and unnecessarily personal. I typically try to be understanding, but this experience was frustrating enough that I feel it needs to be shared. I went to Bnails Cedar Park with my daughter on July 30 to get our nails done ahead of an event I have on Monday (August 5). As first-time customers, we spent $305 total, including tip, and I left feeling completely satisfied with the work. Shortly after, today, 8/2, one of my toenails needed a small repair -- well within their 14-day guarantee policy. But when I called the salon, the manager refused to schedule a weekend repair, saying they "don't do repairs on weekends anymore" -- even if I was willing to pay out of pocket. That's not listed anywhere in their policy. Their own website states a 7-day guarantee and repairs up to 14 days -- no weekday-only restriction, and the salon is open on weekends. I'm honestly a very flexible person. Normally, I'd have no issue rescheduling during the week, but I had just started a new job and the event I got my nails done for was on Monday -- I had no weekday availability left. I reached out via their 24/7 chat support, which was much more helpful and acknowledged that weekend repairs should be an option. But then they booked me for the wrong weekend, couldn't send a transcript, and by the time the error was corrected, there were no openings left. Bottom line: for $305, I expected better. It's not just about one toenail -- it's the lack of consistency, poor communication, and refusal to honor a clearly stated policy that has me taking my business elsewhere. I should have just stuck with my regulars at VIP Nails & SPA in Leander -- they've always taken care of me without all the drama. read more

There were so many things wrong with this appointment, and I was so disappointed! I guess I should've paid attention to the "B" in Bnails and known it wasn't going to be an A+ experience. I made sure I was clear on what I wanted when I called and made the appointments for myself and my two granddaughters, but the salon was not clear on it, even though I explained again at the beginning of our appointments. When we first got there, they started rushing us and rushing us to choose what colors we wanted. They did not listen to what we wanted. I explained what I wanted clearly for my toes, and it wasn't a gel. But, they chose a gel for me, and it wasn't at all like what I had requested. My youngest granddaughter wanted two-tone nails, light green fading into white, with flowers on two of her fingernails on each hand and "bling" or a jewel on her thumbs, but they did not listen. She ended up with two fingers and her thumb a light green color and two fingers white with a flower on each of her ring fingers and no "bling" or jewel at all. She was still asking for the jewel as we were leaving, but it was clearly too late. For her toenails, she only got a plain white gel polish. Her pedicure was very abbreviated, and although she was really enjoying the massage chair, they made her turn it off (because it was shaking her feet too much I guess, while they were polishing her nails. I don't know, but they did not let her turn it back on either.) She really did not get the relaxing soaking portion of the pedicure either. They were still working on her fingernails at the same station that they did her pedicure when my pedicure was finished, and they took me to the other side of the salon to do my fingernails. That is why she did not get the bling on her thumbs, because they didn't listen to her, and I didn't get a chance to tell them. Them taking me to the other side of the salon made me extremely uncomfortable, too. I had gone there with my granddaughters to have a nice time together. But, they completely separated us, and she was too young to be left by herself as such. My older granddaughter did seem happy with her nails at the time though. But, I found out later that when they were filing her toenails, they had cut her big toe behind the nail about three quarters of an inch and it looked really sore and red. She said it had really hurt at the time and still did several days later. It looked like a deep paper cut. This was her first pedicure, and now, it will probably be her last. I was so hoping for a good pleasant experience. She was also disappointed with the cat's eye fingernails, because they did not have the magnetic effect that's she was expecting and wanting but which mine did. I wasn't given enough time to choose my colors whatsoever. I just happened to see a number for one color I kind of liked, and that's what I ended up having to get. It also happened to be a "cat's eye" color, which was more expensive, although no price was specified upfront for those. I chose the "healthy nail"alternative, hoping it would help my fingernails. But, right away they started sanding a lot of the top layer of my nails off before applying a weird thick gel to them. When I called and booked the appointment, I had been very clear about wanting a good manicure, which pushed back and treated and trimmed my cuticles and carefully trimmed and filed my fingernails before any kind of polish was applied. And, according to their website also included a hand massage. The technician assigned to me had clearly not been advised, and so, I clearly told him before he got started. He advised that that would cost more even though I had been told that it was included and their website also indicated that it was included. He did some work on my cuticles, and they did and do look better, but they still have some jagged and sore looking spots. He did not trim, shape, or file to smooth my nails, which I had requested, and which I know from previous experience, will cause the nails to need redoing a lot sooner. When he was applying the multiple layers of polish/gel, he asked me one time to look at them to see how they were looking, and I did. Then he said, "Be careful, don't mess them up," which I thought was weird. After I got home, I realized that he had probably messed one up and wanted to make it look like I did it; because my right index finger has a little bald spot on the front right edge of the nail and a bump/raised spot next to it on the finished fingernail. Also, he pushed my left hand toward the drying light one time and skimmed three of the nails across the hard foam hand rest as he did so, which messed up the finish on those three nails, too. I mentioned it at the time, but he ignored me. Those four blemishes are obvious in the finished project and do bug me, but they still feel fairly smooth, not rough, although a bit of a bump, and I don't believe they will cause the finish to fail quicker. I have been a client at B Nails for some time and have consistently communicated how I prefer my nails to be done. As a paying customer, I believe it is completely reasonable to express my preferences clearly and respectfully. Recently, I was informed by Stella that Jayden no longer wants to service me because I allegedly made him "uncomfortable." This was surprising and disappointing, especially since no one has ever communicated to me that I was rude, disrespectful, or inappropriate in any way. I have simply explained how I like my nails done. If a client calmly expressing preferences makes a technician uncomfortable, that raises concerns about professionalism and customer service. I even asked for clarification on what specifically I did to cause discomfort and have yet to receive a clear answer. As an African American woman, walking into spaces and feeling as though you are being judged or labeled negatively for simply advocating for yourself is disheartening. I work hard for my money and believe it should be spent in businesses where clients feel respected and valued. At this point, I am not upset -- I simply want transparency and accountability. If there is a legitimate reason for the decision, I am open to hearing it. But vague accusations without explanation do not reflect well on a business. I hope management takes this as an opportunity to improve communication and ensure all clients are treated with fairness and respect. Their manager Kristine refused to fix them on a weekend, claiming it's policy even though it's nowhere posted, mentioned, or logical. Despite acknowledging I am only in town once a month b/c of my out of state work w/ a vulnerable population, when asked for a solution, she gave me a dismissive and condescending smile, saying "glue it". $120+ is already premium pricing. I went to Bnails on my birthday expecting a relaxing experience, and it turned into one of the worst nail salon visits I've ever had. Pedicure: Right away, the water in the pedicure bowl was dirty--there was a clump of dead skin and hair floating in it. When I asked the technician to change it, she actually argued with me, saying "ugh, it is clean." She only replaced the water after I directly pointed to the debris floating around. That should've been my sign to walk out. From there it only got worse. She pulled out one of those cheese-grater style callus removers, which is against licensing in Texas, and even then, she left my feet half-grated--raw in some spots and still rough in others. They also used something called a citrus booster. If it had just been added to the water for my feet, fine. But instead, she rubbed actual sliced lemons and oranges all over my freshly shaved legs. My skin immediately turned red, started burning, and was irritated the rest of the day. Completely careless and uncomfortable. Manicure (Gel X): I was told to send in a photo beforehand so they could match me with a tech who could do nail art. The tech they assigned me couldn't do the design at all--I left with just four little star designs, and they still tried charging $15 for them. On top of that, the "manicure" wasn't even a manicure. She filed two of my nails, didn't clean or shape them properly, didn't prep my cuticles, and then burned multiple cuticles down with the e-file. No massage, no basic nail care--nothing. She kept asking if I wanted shaping, trimming, or gems, without ever mentioning that each would be an upcharge. And the shaping she did give me wasn't what I asked for at all--the nails looked bulky, outdated, and nothing like the clean modern style I wanted. Shaping and trimming should be included in a Gel X service, not tacked on as hidden fees. To make matters worse, they couldn't even match my desired nail color. Instead of actually having the shade I picked, they just gave me what they called "the closest match," which wasn't close at all. Between the wrong shape, the wrong color, and the missing design, the end result looked nothing like what I had come in for. By the end, I had multiple rings of fire on my nails, irritated cuticles, and a design that looked nothing like what I asked for. I was there for 3 HOURS, only for a simple pedicure and Gel X, and I walked out unhappy, in pain, and frustrated. Final straw: When I complained at the front desk, I was offered either a redo (after already wasting 3 hours) or to come back another day. I explained it was my birthday, I had dinner plans waiting and my kids at home with my husband, and I wasn't about to spend more of my day there. They refused to give any kind of discount or partial refund, despite the dirty water, unsafe pedicure practices, a manicure that wasn't a manicure, and the fact that I didn't get the design or color I came in for. To make matters worse, they refused to honor the 20% off first-time customer coupon that's advertised everywhere. This salon is unsafe, unsanitary, and dishonest with pricing. I left with burning legs, raw feet, cut-up cuticles, nails shaped completely wrong, and a design I didn't even want. It had been well over 2 months since I had prioritized a mani & pedi. These nails have been giving construction worker. Decided not to ring in the new year with trash cuticles. Whilst in the area, I did a quick search for nail salon and here we are. I'm a simple girl: mani + pedi, no frills, no thrills, regular black polish for the fingers & clear coat for the toes. I walked in and immediately felt like I was placed on the set of Barbie, pink everything- couch, walls, stitched logos on the chairs. They did a good job of mixing in black accents so that it wasn't a straight up pepto bismol vibe. There are 48 chairs in this salon, it's big and spacious. I am grateful to Mindie (Mindy sp?) for taking her time, never once felt rushed and she followed my every cue when it came to the services I needed.
