This restaurant is inside Altisima winery. We ordered the gambas appetizer and the sauce was delicious, the shrimp tasted pretty fresh. We also got the chicken sandwich and it just tasted like a typical sandwich with bacon, avocado, tomato and lettuce. No special sauce or anything. If you order wine, the pour will be big. This restaurant was on the expensive side as the total was $78 before tip for two glasses of wine, chicken sandwich and one appetizer. The Mrs. and I had lunch at Gaspar's Restaurant today. We arrived shortly after 11. The weather was just north of 90 degrees, but the patio at Gaspar's was very inviting. The view was incredible and the misters combined with the steady breeze made dining outside tolerable. Shawnece, our amazing server, arrived to take our order. We were still trying to figure out what to eat so we ordered our drinks. The Mrs. ordered the Sangria Flight and I ordered a glass of the of the Grenacha. For our food, Shawnece suggested the calamari. It was a great way to start our meal and probably the best calamari I've ever had. I would say that ordering the calamari at Gaspar's is a must. We also ordered the Jamon Serrano Wrapped Burrata. Another must at Gaspar's. Rich creamy burrata wrapped in salty ham served with arugula and crostini. The bitterness of the arugula married with the burrata and the ham made for an incredible flavor profile. We also ordered the VERY ADDICTING Patatas Bravas. I called them the devil's work they were that good. Just for digestive purposes we also ordered the Espinaca Salad. A beautifully refreshing salad topped with candied walnuts, crispy pancetta, Gorgonzola cheese, and apples tossed in an herbed vinaigrette. Gaspar's is located at Altisima Winery. They only take reservations for wine club members and large parties. So be prepared for a long wait on the weekends. We've eaten here a few times now. The food is tastes. We did have the appetizer meatballs and they were cold which we thiught was strange but the flavor was good. The food was delicious! Aside from great wine, I would go back to the restaurant. Although I just had salad & potatoes, they were so good- I want to go back to try more items on their menu. Made a lunch reservation and also a restaurant seated tasting experience and had a wonderful time. Only thing missing was music. The food was great, service was attentive and friendly. The tasting experience was beautifully lead by our server Miguel ("Zack" - he was wearing a different name tag) and he was a good sport at our ribbing. He provided knowledge on the different wines he was pouring for us. Great attitude with a smile. Would definitely recommend the seated tasting experience. Lunch was delicious, we ordered grilled octopus and Catalan gambas for starters, had the Altisima burger and chicken sandwiches. I have to say the Catalan Gambas sauce was spectacular. It's hard to know where to begin... The view from the patio is simply spectacular. The food was exemplary--especially the octopus, which was delightfully prepared and presented on a bed of saffron oil couscous. Every bite was a treat. The wine selection was equally impressive. While I'm typically a red wine aficionado, their whites and sparkling offerings truly stood out. Both the Luna Mia and the Sparkling Brut were exceptional, with the latter pairing beautifully with the octopus. What truly elevated the experience, though, was JT. Warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable, he offered thoughtful recommendations without a hint of pretension. He was the perfect culinary guide, making my relaxed lunch feel all the more special. We've enjoyed this restaurant for lunch and finger foods in the past, they were delicious! So, we decided to bring our friends here for breakfast/brunch. Unfortunately, it was a big letdown. My latte arrived cold, as did our food. The Eggs Benedict were especially disappointing, there was no hollandaise sauce or even butter for the English muffin. We were the first ones in the restaurant, yet the food tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. Everything was stale, tough, and difficult to eat. That said, I did appreciate the charcuterie board-style presentation. The variety was nice, but unfortunately, it didn't make up for the poor quality of the meal. I'd recommend this place for lunch or snacks, but brunch isn't their strong suit. read more

Food was underwhelming and very, very overpriced. The jamón serrano plate had enough ham for 4 people, enough bread for 1.5 people, and strangely included fig jam which paired horribly with the ham and the olives. I love fig jam, don't get me wrong. But a friend of olives and Spanish ham it is not. The burrata salad had too little lettuce, some of which was wilty, and a massive blob of burrata, which I suspect is how they justify the price of a meatless salad at $26. It was great cheese, but nonetheless just a ball of cheese on a handful of mixed greens. I did add salmon to the salad, for a whopping $13, making this a $40 salad. The salmon was a generous and well cooked portion but too heavily salted. The burrata salad was as moderately satisfying and underwhelming as fast casual salads I've had at places like Panera. If this was also a $20 salad, I'd said it hit the mark. My partner said the burger was just "meh." Ambiance was great, but there's dozens of wineries nearby with equally great ambiance and similar lovely views, while offering better food at better prices. The food was amazing and the wine even more so. The views are incredible. Everything about this winery is amazing. We enjoyed the Optimista white wine and the leading lady cocktail. The Catalan Gambas were so flavorful with a little spicy kick. The roasted garlic brought it all together. My husband really enjoyed his chimichurri steak with fries. But my seared salmon was sooo perfectly cooked and paired very well with the cauliflower purée that I think it was better than the steak! That said you really do have to make a reservation because it fills up quickly especially on the weekends. You can go onto their website and make a reservation online. I was able to make mine two months in advance for a party of two just fine and they were able to seat us relatively quickly. I definitely recommend this restaurant and winery. Last November we tried this place out because we were told the burgers were good by our server at Miramonte. At that time, it was one of the best burgers I've had, even better than Miramonte. It was a few dollars more but came with bacon and had a nice presentation. Now you are charged extra for the bacon which was much lower quality and the burger looked like something you would get at a fast food restaurant. It was burnt, had a bitter taste, and the bacon was undercooked. We also ordered their truffle fries which were soggy and no one ate them. I ordered tea and they gave me a bottle of Pure Leaf Tea. How can they pretend they are a premium restaurant and not brew their own tea or have a soda fountain machine? Their sodas are poured from cans with no refills. We learned our lesson and will not be back. read more
