We stopped here on a Sunday morning. Street parking available and there was a parking spot on the side with various businesses. Given that it was a Sunday, most of those businesses were closed, so we parked there. The wait was 15-20mins for a table. We couldn't order until the table was available though. Which makes sense. The place is on the smaller side but they have vast sitting spaces. Indoor and outdoor. You can bring pets to the outdoor section. Restroom is outside and the space is not very handicapped friendly. The food was amazing! They had some freshly baked desserts! My friend is German and she said their cake was pretty delicious and similar to German style without frosting and very natural like. I had their avocado toast with smoked salmon. Their Salmon is from Santa Barbara Smoke house, they use Atlantic wild Salmon. I usually prefer Pacific but.. this was pretty delicious! Totally recommend it. I also had their matcha lavender latte with almond milk. The cup was pretty but due to the marine layer and cold morning, the matcha got cold so fast. I asked the girl to kindly reheat it for me (I assumed there was a microwave un there) but she proceeded to say "we can't warm it up" and so I told her ok then take it away because it didn't taste good cold. She offered to remake it and put it in a to-go cup. I was pleased with it. I recommend you use a to-go cup if you will seat outside or ask for it extra-hot if its rather chilly out and you like to enjoy your coffee with mini sips rather than chugging it. I recommend this spot and definitely try their pastries.

My son and I stopped at this open and delightful cafe where you order up front and then choose your table. For me being Celiac, I really liked the fact they had gluten free bread so I ordered the SMASHED AVOCADO TOAST with pickled vegelables, herbs, nut & seed dukkah GF, with smoked salmon. It was fresh and delicious. My son really enjoyed his sandwich and with a comfortable dining area, a totally enjoyable experience.

Frontside Cafe is such a gem in Ventura. Let's clear something up real quick: this is counter service. No one is coming to take your order at the table, and that's just how it works. Fresh food also takes time, especially during a busy weekend brunch. The food here is consistently so good. I love stopping in for their seasonal salads and fresh, housemade pastries. Everything feels thoughtful, intentional, and full of flavor. The Ojai Pixie Spritzer is a favorite of mine, especially on a warm day. The menu changes seasonally and they always have rotating weekly specials that are worth checking out. And if you ever see the lemon ricotta pancakes on the board, don't skip them. Light, bright, and exactly what brunch should be. Like I mentioned, weekends get busy, so expect a bit of a wait. Totally normal for a popular brunch spot. Coming early definitely helps if you want to grab a seat without waiting too long. Parking is available in the back, with additional street parking nearby. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and you can really feel the heart behind the place. The owners are very hands-on. The husband is the chef and the wife runs the front of house, which gives it that personal, community-driven feel that makes you want to keep coming back. Whether you're there for a full brunch or just a coffee and pastry, Frontside is always a solid choice. Fresh, local, and full of good energy.

My favorite is the Aussie breakfast with homemade sausage Pattie's, gluten free toast, over easy eggs and creamy crunch potatoes! Yummmmm love their brunch so much. Usually expect about 15-20 waiting during regular weekend rush. The location and aesthetic is cute, white and blue beach vibe.

Had this place bookmarked for ages and it did not disappoint! Went back in Memorial Day weekend and didn't wait too long to be seated. This is a pay up front type of eatery. The service was good despite how busy it was. Even with a waitlist, street parking was fairly easy to find. The restaurant feels breezy thanks to its partially open structure. The interior looks aesthetically pleasing too. Their honey latte was very good, even better than one I got later in the day at a coffee shop. I didn't expect the brekkie roll to be filling but it was. Everything tasted great and the breeze coming from the beach made it even better. It was a delight to dine here and I'll definitely be back.

I finally made it to frontside cafe! This beautiful beachy brunch restaurant has been on my list for a long while now. I love everything about this place, the decor, the layout, the menu and the friendly staff. My friend and I wandered in for lunch and I'm happy that this spot is so popular. Definitely a busy loved local spot so plan ahead. We were lucky to get the only left corner table during a busy brunch/lunch rush. You order at the counter and then find yourself a seat. Service was friendly and all good vibes. The gal at the register was sweet and helpful as we asked questions about the menu. We also appreciated that even though we were paying separately she would put our order on the same number system to ensure our meals came out as close together as they could (which they did and that was wonderful). Even though this restaurant is only counter service even when they brought our food out to us they were nice, we had great service for a casual spot. I love their menu here. Simple but classic fun items. I also am dying to give their spritz a try next time. Appreciate the variety of their spritz cocktail options. Pricing is reasonable and again, really just love the vibe inside. My friend had the Katsu fried chicken sandwich which they loved. I was impressed with how generous the chicken portion was that I will definitely get that next time. I had an amazing granola bowl here. Love that they mix up their granola bowl with different seasonal fruits and toppings. My bowl had blackberries plus delicious yogurt, chia pudding and almond butter. A 10/10 breakfast dish and nice to find something I loved that was on the healthier side. Skip the peach iced tea though, just didn't taste like anything other than a plain iced tea. That's okay though because as I said above, definitely getting a spritz next time! All in all frontside cafe was a win and a solid A from us. Great for a casual lunch and I'm dying to come back when they do their cool dinner pop up menus, will be on the lookout for that.

Don't come here unless you never want to go anywhere else in Ventura for breakfast ever again and I'm so serious! Their food is so fresh, savory, delicious and doesn't make you feel gross or weighed down like a traditional American breakfast spot does. The Yogurt Bowl is my go to, homemade granola, fruit medley with mint, honey Greek style yogurt. YUM. When I'm feeling more savory the "Full Brekki" plate is the move. Eggs your way, thick slices of sourdough, we get the sausage patties, grilled tomato and homemade jams and ketchup?! Say less. They have an awesome selection of pastries and a top tier coffee program - you honestly can't go wrong. Service is so sweet and have always been more than accommodating for me and my toddler! Also, it's has the dreamiest coastal open air interior that's walking distance from the pier when you're done. If you've been here you know what I'm talking g about and if you haven't yet, what are you doing?

My hubby and I have loved making this a weekly stop. I love the hot cocoa and Aussie breakfast. DO NOT leave without the trying those potatoes!!! They are buttery flavorful goodness! The staff is very kind which surprises me because I can't be up that early and be that happy HAHA But they are! The elegant atmosphere makes it that much better. It's a must go to when in Ventura. Remember! Don't forget the potatoes.

Frontside Cafe: Indoor, outdoor & my Brontë Bowl from the menu!

I just had an insanely good breakfast at Frontside Cafe! The Brontë Bowl is full of fabulous yummy curry roasted mushrooms, cooling onions, etc... I went there while waiting for my oil change & it's a great place to eat & hang out! Love the boho, clean vibe! They close at 2 PM & have salads & sandwiches as well! I will be back there soon! Highly recommend!

We stopped at this coffee shop on our drive from OC to Santa Barbara, in Ventura. It's an absolute gem! It's super cute inside and dog friendly on the patio. The kitchen has fantastic hot breakfasts and they bring it out to the table! Also, it looks like there's a wine bar in the evening. I wish it were closer to us as this would be our go to! So cute, so yummy, great vibes!

Really fresh and tasty for brunch!!! The fruit is amazing. I got the yogurt bowl and boyfriend got the açaí. Both very good. A little pricey but that's because it's trendy and good quality so definitely worth it. There's usually a line on the weekend but we came at 10am Sunday and only had to wait 15 minutes. Would love to come back and try lunch!

Finding a restaurant that can handle our motley crew including a senior citizen with a walker and a very camera ready little dog has its challenges. Today, on our way back from central CA we stopped off at Cafe Nouveau for breakfast. I think we were their first customers of the day. They helped us navigate thru the back patio with the walker to a well situated spot. Jason, our server was attentive and knowledgeable providing recommendations on what to order, spice levels, and comparisons between breakfast options. Jason B was great and represented Cafe N very well. We usually drive up to Cambria / Paso twice a year. We have found our new spot to stop off and break up the drive with a tasty meal. You should find it too. All of the team will make you feel welcomed.

Curiosity got the best of me because it looked like a house so I decided to dig a little bit more into it. Apparently, it's a 1920s Spanish bungalow They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Service is attentive and very friendly. Now the food... Oh man, it was delicious!! I was eating healthy and got just a plain chicken bowl and that was really nothing to write about, but that was my fault because who gets that when surrounded by such yummy food like Strawberry Matcha pancakes or Churro French Toast with kiwi, banana, berries and chantilly cream ‍ Anyways, we got the maple bacon beignets for the table and wow, that was delicious. Warm, fluffy, sweet, salty... yummm!! My son got the 2+2+2. At $23 it was a little pricey for two eggs, 2 bacon and 2 pancakes, but the pancakes were huge and barely fit on the plate. The bacon was also very thick and tasty. Warning: That the house made vanilla caramel syrup they serve is super addicting and you're gonna want to drizzle everything with it!! Everyone else at the table was really happy with what they ordered. Someone also ordered a biscuit on the side and that was by far the fluffiest biscuit I had ever seen. Usually they can be dry and hard, but this one was quite opposite. I've seen other pictures online and I guess it can be a hit or a miss because they don't seem to be consistent. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town and this time actually try the other plates I was eyeing

We got 4 between me and my husband to share and sample: Baja Taco (got fried fish) had fresh ingredients, lettuce and a nice lime flavor! Beach House Tacos (got grilled fish), nice pineapple salsa, tender fish, nice sauces and lettuce. Calamari Taco - fried calamari - fresh avocado and cabbage, nice sauce - chipotle. Marilu Taco with popcorn shrimp with nice chile lime crema, not too spicy. Even the fried seafood here is fresh, not very fried, just a tad, nice and crispy, but not greasy. Loved every taco, they are all different than each other, they use fresh ingredients and vegetables, each had a great, original flavor, they don't skimp on anything - seafood or ingredients. Anyone who doesn't love a chicken, bacon and avocado sandwich might have some taste bud issues... It came with in-house made potato chips and those were also wonderful. It took 1 hour and 25 minutes just to receive our appetizers. During that entire time, our waitress never took our dinner order, and our menus remained on the table the entire evening. After our initial drinks were delivered, no one came back to check on us or ask if we'd like another round, even though our table would have gladly ordered more drinks. We later noticed that gratuity had already been added to the bill. Whether or not that had anything to do with the service, the lack of attention was disappointing. I understand restaurants can get busy, especially on nights with live entertainment, and I'm usually very patient.
