I discovered this little boba tea shop a month or two before Christmas 2021. Its in a quieter part of downtown Arcadia, so parking has never been a problem. The staff are so friendly. I go there fairly regularly and always receive a little wave. I have only tried the house boba milk tea( delicious by the way), so I can't comment on the other drinks and food they have. It all looks great though, so at some point I will eat there. Such a pleasant experience. I will drive out of my way sometimes( I live in Pasadena), just to see them. I highly recommend this shop. I recently tried the braised pork rice and sausage rice at this restaurant. While the flavors were decent, I found the sausage rice to be lacking in braised pork. This resulted in a lot of plain rice after finishing the two pieces of sausage, despite the fact that the sausage rice was priced higher. I was getting coffee down the street and noticed this new place. Popped in for some Taiwanese style popcorn chicken. I was pleasantly surprised, it was one of the best I've had! It's a new place, only opened for 3 weeks. Staff is still under training. But the owner shared with me they have a location in Rowland Heights which has been around for 24 years. After hearing my parent's review of this place, I've decided to take my girlfriend here on a date. It was around 7:30PM, an hour before we had to leave to watch Shang Chi a couple miles away at AMC. We're both foodies in a sense. She's addicted to drinks, and I'm addicted to food photography. We make a perfect pair. We came in to look at the menu, but was ignored for the most part as I stood in the front. The interior was all very clean and organized. Couple of seats spaced out with giant, beautiful windows: which only magnified the illusion of space. My first impression was, "alright, this place seems great. Clean, nice, and tidy. I'd enjoy my time here!" Granted, I was looking around a lot because I was very curious of everything. Suddenly, after a few minutes, hearing what seems to be the owner/manager yelling at the employee: it suddenly left a bad impression on my part. It's just me, but I really dislike when people take anger out on trivial matters. From what I can tell, the girl was in the process of making a drink and left the cup behind her. She literally just put it down for 10 seconds and was filling up something on the other side. Then she got yelled at. I really disliked that. We came in with the intention of getting 2 meals and a drink that night. Recently my routine of high sugar intake and unbalanced diet has left me feeling pretty drowsy during the day. What I really wanted that night was just to try their meal and have some water. "Try our black jelly milk tea, it's very good!" the lady recommended I hesitated, and wanted to say no. She insisted, and was pretty much ready to take the order. I thought to myself, "Why not, I guess. I'm here to try something new anyways." So I ended up ordering what she's recommended. I've heard stories of this from my friends who visited this place. Many said they felt pretty pressured into ordering things they weren't planning on ordering. It's not hard to see why. Though it didn't matter too much for me, if you're shy and not into feeling pressured while ordering, this might not be your place. All in all, the food was all very good. I can eat a generous amount, and they enough for my dinner. It's pretty hard to top their portion at their price point. We sat and listened to what seems like a lady getting their job interview done. Good luck to her! While I probably won't return for another while, I'm a firm believer in second chances. Maybe the owner/manager just had a rough day. Or maybe putting cups out of place is a strict policy at their establishment. They made their food all very tasty with a good filling amount. It's definitely worth trying out, and it's generally good practice to support small and local business while they last. I came here with my family to try their Taiwanese shaved ice. I asked the lady how many toppings come with a bowl. She said 3. So I ordered red bean, green bean, and strawberries. But no, it seems I wasn't allowed to mix food groups of toppings. Fruit was fruit and couldn't be mixed with beans - why? The bowls were all the same price and apparently I was allowed to substitute a topping from the set bowl for a different topping so I didn't get what's the big deal with my original order. But whatever. My daughters changed their minds and wanted fruit so I changed the order to a fruit bowl. 1) I'm disappointed with the amount of fruit for the price. Considering that 1/2 the bowl is frozen water a couple pieces of fruit shouldn't cost as much as it does. You can get double if not triple the amount of fruit from the fruit vendor on the side of the street for the same amount. 2). The lady brought out 3 spoons for the 4 of us. It was obvious we were sharing as a family. Even ice cream shops will give out spoons per person, rather than spoons per bowls. At least she brought out 2 smaller bowls for the kids. 3) I understand that I may have gone in with the assumption that this would be like in Taiwan where 3 toppings is 3 toppings no matter what food group they come from. But no matter how I look at this I just don't understand how a restaurant / food place won't customize the order to the customer's liking.
