Since we were nearby, my partner and I decided to check this spot out. It is a very small shop, but they have a huge menu. Honestly, the menu feels overwhelming with how many options there are. The menu has small text and looks quite outdated. Prices of drinks were not listed on the menu. We each got the Matcha Au-Lait, which is supposed to be a creamy green matcha tea layered on top of smooth milk for a velvety, fragrant beverage. Honestly didn't know this spot existed until recently. My partner and I visited when we were in the area and it's pretty well hidden. Interior is small, more of a takeout shop than a hangout spot. Their walls are filled with their accomplishments over the years and it's very refreshing to see as I haven't been to a H&H location in a very long time. We got their Matcha Au Lait BOGO which is basically a matcha latte. Drinks came out quick as it wasn't busy at all. I remember the cups were a lot bigger than before, not compatible with car cupholders, but looks like they've made some changes to accommodate for that, very impressed with the cup qualities while keeping their signature cup styles. Drinks itself were delicious, very refreshing on a warmer day and the matcha was pretty well made. Not super overpowering but also very smooth taste. Half & Half brings back good memories of my high school days making boba runs with my friends. When I was running errands at Aldi in this same plaza, and saw Half & Half Express at this Arcadia location, I stopped by to pick up some boba. Their menus with the drinks they offer had no pricing, and instead there was a list of pricing on the wall. I'm assuming that's to save money on reprinting menus when they change their prices. I ordered my parents a Taro Black Tea with Honey Boba ($7.10/each) and I ordered an Almond Black Milk Tea with Pudding and Honey Boba ($7.82). I received a free size upgrade to a large on my order for their weekday promotion. Note they charge for bags here, and do not offer any cup holders when you're ordering multiple drinks. Most other tea houses will give you a cup holder or bag to hold a large order with. Isn't it in their best interest I order more? I was so excited for my drink but I was a disappointed when I sipped it. Doesn't hit the spot like it used to... and it's so expensive now. Just like all of the other things I've outgrown, I think I'm over it with Half & Half unfortunately. Don't plan on revisiting any time soon. read more

Decided to get a drink since I was already in the plaza. Menu has a lot of options, milk tea, shaved ice, snacks, pretty much everything, but the drink itself was just average. Nothing wrong with it, just nothing that really stands out compared to a lot of boba spots now. Flavor was okay, sweetness level was fine, but didn't have that strong tea taste I usually like. Store is extremely small. Registers are right when you walk in making you hold the door to stay in line if two people are in front. Feels like the layout needs to be reimagined so that the register is towards the back of the store so that more people can be in line. There's also a Kiddleton claw machine taking up space by the entrance as well. My kids loved playing the machine but I had to wait outside because it started to get claustrophobic as more people started coming in. I ordered my usual milk tea with honey boba and it was good. They're currently running a winter promotion offering a free size upgrade Monday through Friday. I grew up in Rowland Heights and moved to NorCal after college, but while visiting, I wanted to go back to my roots and was excited to see they had a location in Arcadia. I ordered my usual passion fruit Yakult and took advantage of the complimentary size upgrade. The boba was perfectly chewy and nicely sweetened, though the drink itself tasted a bit watered down. This H&H discontinued the split cup policy, which makes no sense. I understand that people may have taken advantage by splitting more than once or complained that the split cups' volumes were unequal, but stopping this wholesale is not the answer. To make things even stranger, you can still buy an additional cup for $1 and split the drink yourself. So guess what we did? We sat on the bench with a small plastic spoon and clumsily doled out the drink to the other cup, making an unavoidable mess while doing so. The split cup portions were perfect for my two kids - even one regular size is way too much for them. Please bring this back or we will stop visiting this location! read more

I go to half and half and get the same drink every week and I used to drink this everyday. First time at the is location in a while and the drinks are not close at all to other locations. I always get lavender black milk tea with jelly. Full sweet, but on first sip it was so watery and barely any flavor. I had to ask them to remake it (the workers here are very kind!). They kindly remade the drink and it tasted more like lavender milk tea. HOWEVER I'm convinced the tea is either watered down here or the creamer is messed up. Please have them try drinks again before serving! read more

I have been at Half & Half Tea Express in Arcadia on several occasions whenever I pick up ramen from their next door neighbor Ramen Yukinoya. Food and drinks go hand in hand at least in my book LOL. Wow, it has been 4 years since my original review. Time flies that's for sure. Well, things have changed since the last time I was here. They now charge for no ice which is a bummer... so ask for less less ice which is an option... thank goodness... I don't like my drinks watered down by ice if possible. They don't have a rewards program... I don't recall if they ever did. You may super size your drink for some extra change... sorry I don't remember the extra cost... probably no more than $1.00, but close to it. I ended up getting 3 drinks... 1 Kumquat lemonade with aloe plus lychee jelly and basil seeds, 1 Honey lemonade with aloe, 1 Brown sugar milk tea with honey boba... all with regular sweetness and less less ice. I didn't super sized them because I forgot about it, but will do so next time. All our drinks were amazing... flavor and taste were on point! Both my daughters and myself enjoyed our drinks very much. Staff was super friendly and nice. Thank you ladies! Always enjoy coming here for fantastic drinks and great service. There is nothing that sets me off more than bad boba. I requested that the barista remake my tea because it was too bitter, only for the new tea to be more bitter than the last. Not to mention, no refunds. This is one of the very few tea shops that use real milk. Most boba places use non-dairy creamer with powders and inflammatory vegetable oils. They also have free cup size upgrades for in-store orders. The upgrade cup is humongous, like a bucket of tea. The service is usually friendly and helpful, mostly young kids. I think it's worth coming by if you're already in the plaza, especially on weekdays when there is the size upgrade special where you purchase a regular and they will hand you a large if you want one. I've only ever gotten fruit tea here and I enjoy those. I think if I just got a regular iced tea, I'd want the tea base to be stronger. This seems to be a newer BBT place in the SHV. They are in a small to medium sized strip mall. The lot is usually crowded, but parking is usually available. Other businesses in the mall are also popular. The staff here seems to be predominantly young, but respectful and efficient. They can get crowded, but often the wait is just 2-3 ppl. Their prices are probably about comparable to similar places. They currently have a deal where u get gifts for spending different tiers of money. Worth a try if u like BB drinks. read more

Price 8/10 because of the promotion. During certain seasons there is a promotion with a free upgrade and/or free topping and when they have those, I think this place is pretty worth it. I came during a time with the free large upgrade and free topping, which bumped my rating of this place from 3.5 to 4 stars. The large size at Half and Half is pretty massive so it was great value. We went inside and luckily there was only one other customer in front of us placing the order. There was 4 of us so each of us picked a drink to indulge upon. I remembered had half and half a while back, and I remembered it being really good. A balance of creamy and sweetness from the dairy and the warm and savoriness from the boba balls. I chose their signature drink which was the milk tea classic with honey boba. The drink came out to be about $6 for a large cup. It took them about 5 minutes to make. As soon as we got the drink, I popped the lid with my boba straw and took a sip of it. The boba was good, but not as fresh as I imagined. The drink itself just tasted like watered down whole milk. I guess I shouldn't have asked for any ice because I had a feeling it definitely diluted the flavor drink. I felt like I was drinking milk with honey boba. Not what I wanted so I was pretty disappointed in the drink. I didn't even bother finishing it so I threw it away. I would probably give this place another try because I remember it being really delicious tasting the first time around. But then again, I could see why this place is rated below a 4 star so I guess the quality isn't just there anymore. Taro black milk tea 3/5 - I haven't been to half and half in yearssss but decided to give it a try again and I didn't like it... I heard some of their other drinks are good but the taro milk tea wasn't that good. I felt like it was just taro power and not real taro. There were taro chunks at the bottom though so not sure if they just added that. Staff is friendly and we got our drinks very quickly because no one else was there.
