Loved the special dessert of a pumpkin-carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and the added pepitas, crumble and caramel really made it special and fun. If I could give a 4.5 I would, this was very close to 5 territory. The inside is very nice and polished - perhaps not the most special, but very inviting. Ate at the bar, of course, and our bartender was very friendly. Sports on two TVs, which i usually don't care for - but not obtrusive..brass and glass - nice overall. I gotta say the two gin/violette drinks I had were amazing. Two other things of note, the lamb meatballs were probably best I've had - no idea what they put in those things, so tender and delicious. So good! We were walking along the river and happened upon this place on Sunday around noon and liked the vibe when we walked in from the back. We found the hostess and were quickly seated. Our server Jaclyn was excellent! She explained the menu how many of the items are home made there. Breads and many of the meats. We ordered a mimosa and a fear and loathing. The fear and loathing is one of those delicious and dangerous cocktails. I could have had 2 more and then needed a wheelbarrow to get home! Brunch for us was a BLT and hash browns. My bride said the hash browns were excellent. My BLT with home made bread was superb. Usually with home made bread it can often fall apart and it didn't with this sandwich. I cannot honestly remember eating at a better restaurant. The food, the service, the atmosphere and the prices were beyond words, spectacular. The tomato pie was a memory on a plate. Everything we ordered was perfectly balanced and not one thing needed anything added. The lamb shank was huge. Every plate got practically licked clean. The waitress was also very knowledgeable and so proud of the food(I wish I would have got her name). It's beautiful inside too. The prices are so low I don't know how they are making money. A welcome addition to the North Shore. Frazier Five & Dime does not disappoint. None of the previous tenant's food of this prime Frazier Ave. location ever lived up to expectations. Frazier Five and Dime does. The atmosphere is hip, slightly up class but very comfortable. On a Tuesday, early, it was hopping. The food? Well, the food might be some of the best flavors I've had in Chattanooga. The menu is a variety of small plates so trying a bunch of different tastes is the way to go. Here's a quick rundown. Grilled carrots with an addicting spice were outstanding. The smoked mushrooms with an aioli offered an equally appealing but different sensation. The cauliflower au gratin brought the comfort of au gratin potatoes. For proteins we had the scallops which were properly seared, seasoned and served with an herb pesto. The star, however, is the lamb meatball -- a crusty exterior with a flavorful, properly cooked center served with a yogurt sauce. You won't go wrong with Frazier Five & Dime. A word of caution. My fiancé & I came her to celebrate my birthday, and this restaurant knocked it out of the park! The service was kind, fast, and catered to every request we had. The food itself was fantastic! We got the beet hummus as a starter & loved it! For our entrees I got the grouper with grits, and it was so crispy & tasty! My fiancé got the smoked chicken, and we also shared a side of the their mushrooms. Overall, we loved the food, the service, and got in & out in a reasonable time! Delicious and well thought out dishes with a twist. The beet hummus with house made pita was great. Admittedly, I love beets, but my wife doesn't, and she enjoyed it very much as well. The wedge salad was also very good. Pretty classic, but well executed, and a nice portion size. The daily special was "pork brisket." It came on a bed of rice that was so flavorful. The pork itself was very slightly overdone, but the rice was so good it made up for it easily. The fish and grits were different and I'm so glad I tried it. I'm iffy when it comes to grits, but these grits are well worth it. The fish was crispy and had good flavor. Our waiter was helpful in guiding us through the menu. The biscuit in the crawfish salad was excellent. For dinner we had trout, mushrooms, carrots, and chicken. The side dishes were large enough to share. The chicken was very good but an extremely large portion. The carrots were undercooked. The mushrooms were very good. The trout was fine but not memorable. The dessert was good but also not memorable. The chocolate bomb didn't have much chocolate and the bread pudding was outshined by the ice cream. The staff was underdressed, rushed, and not personable. Its a decent restaurant but not for the price. read more

My wife and I ate there yesterday afternoon before the dinner crowd. We have eaten her several times before, so we knew their food was great. This time we had their deviled egg appetizer. This was one of the very best recipes that I have ever tried! I also had their deviled egg roasted leg of lamb. It was possibly the best I've had anywhere. The lamb was surrounded with creamy polenta and covering the bottom of the dish was an awesome pan dripping sauce that was savort and scrumptious. It made me dip everything in and it lasted till the last bite of lamb. Highly recommended! read more

Loved all the in-house touches, like the homemade bread, sauces and desserts. We had the sourdough grilled bread with the tapenade, lamb meatball (perfectly cooked), mushrooms on top of some sort of magical sauce, smoked chicken with an AL white/poppyseed sauce, fish and grits. All of it was delicious, all came to the table hot, thanks to Tonya. This place doesn't look, feel or taste like any other restaurant in town. The service is warm, friendly but not over-bearing or trying to push you along. Our server, Tonya, was knowledgeable and as newbies, helped us learn the menu and made great recommendations. She is delightful! We went on a week night to avoid the weekend crowds. We waited 7 minutes for an inside table. Beautiful patio dining too. Clean restaurant and restrooms. They just finally changed it -- added sandwiches, but the two that my hubbie and I tried weren't good - at all. (smash burger and chicken parm). i didn't even eat over half my chicken sandwich - it was yuck. PLEASE get your food up to the standard of your other restaurants - you will be printing money! The cutest little place! Went with a friend last night, our waitress was so sweet. My friend and I mostly chatted and snacked on a few plates but she kept coming back to check on us in case we needed anything.
