Let's start with the positive, the restaurant was clean and peaceful. I went for lunch on a…read moreThursday afternoon. I was seated at a booth as requested and was quickly brought chips and salsa. The chips were fresh and the salsa delicious with the right amount of heat. I ordered the El Poblano, which came with a small salad, Mexican rice and refried beans.I added the steak for a protein. I am familiar with the meal as I have made it myself at home. I'm sorry to say it was all very disappointing. The poblano had absolutely no flavor nor did the steak. I would have enjoyed the steak with a bit of a chili powered and cumin spice. After thinking about it I probably should have added some of the salsa from the chips to spice it up. You can't mess up refried beans so those were fine. The Mexican rice was extremely under cooked and some weren't cooked at all. The salad was the only positive of the meal itself. The waitress never came over to ask me how my meal was. The next time I saw her was when she brought me my bill. At that time I told her about the rice being very under cooked. He response was "ok". Now to be fair there was a sign that said under new management so I'm going to give them grace. If I lived near by I would give them another try after a couple months to see if they got all the kinks out. Maybe wait until Cinco da Mayo. They don't have a liquor license yet.

My husband had the Sopa de pollo and a soft beef taco and I had the Speedy (beef). Everything was mediocre at best. Including the margaritas. The House Margaritas were way too sweet - so I asked for a bunch of extra limes and added them. They weren't super busy for a Thursday lunch - which I would have expected them to be given the location. The decor feels new and maybe too much like the Applebees it used to be.

If I'm ever in town again, I definitely will be requesting her as our server! Thank you Channa for making our night!

The tacos tinga chicken, juicy yet dry, the pastor had great flavor yet was missing chunks of sautéed onions and/or pineapple, the asada lackluster, and the lengua was tender and tasty. The huevos rancheros had so much flavor and the eggs were cooked perfectly alongside the chorizo, no crunch at all so as odd as it is I'd ask for the tostada on side next time. The pork tamale was tasty and filled with meat although so small it was almost comical, definitely should have been labeled a mini tamale. The huarache was absolutely amazing, I devoured every last bit, and to top it off the cocktails were tasty too.

I ordered the Carne Asada, which is usually my "go to" when I eat at a mexican restaurant. Wait time wasn't so bad. The chips and salsa were good too, the tortilla chips were crunchy and salsa was flavorful. But unfortunately, my Carne Asada fell flat. I asked the beef to be cooked at medium but the beef was tough and overcooked. I was surprised at how dry it was. There were some pieces of the beef that were decent, but overall just too overcooked and dry for me. It was pretty disappointing actually for my first time here. Service was great, they were attentive and checked up on us from time to time. I just felt like the Carne Asada price at $17.99 did not correlate with the quality of meat at all. The other sides were good, like the avocado, beans and rice. And the overall portion size was great too. But for the dish as a whole, I can't justify the price for that. I've been to other mexican restaurants in the area with better Carne Asada that I'd choose in a heartbeat. Despite that experience, I'd come back here but I'd definitely order something else.

I was alone and asked for a quiet table in the back - I looked at the patio which was really nice and spacious, but it was about 95 degrees so I chose to sit inside due to that. I was seated at a nice booth alone with tons of space and a friendly waitress came to explain the menu to me and take my order. I had a mocktail made that was very good - and they only charged $5 for all mocktails which I appreciate. As a non-drinker it irritates me to pay $13-18 for juice that doesn't even have alcohol. I chose the house salad and it was by far the best I've ever had. Loaded with fresh veggies, delicious dressing, cheese and some breadcrumbs I think. Great size and portion for the price and fabulous combination of items. I chose the salmon with peaches and cream couscous. The salmon itself was wonderful - but that couscous was so good, I could not stop eating it. It had corn and fresh peaches and it was the perfect combination of salty and sweet. For dessert - I went with the Chocolate Bomb.com but found it to be wayyyyy too salty with the toffee, salt, and combo. I wish I'd gotten their famous cheesecake but, next time! Loved everything about this spot. Very elegant and no portion of my food wasn't clearly well planned and carefully prepared. Highly, highly recommend. The ambiance, especially the bar area is beautiful and can feel somewhere between an elevated casual to mid-high end experience. Some things I'd like to see happen here: (1) a more true and robust brunch menu and please get an espresso machine, (2) brunch could use some live music and/or a dj (like a toned-down Stateside Kitchen vibe or a jazz trio--something--anything). The food is so good here, there is no reason this place shouldn't be absolutely packed on a Sunday.
