THE FOOD WAS SO GOOD!! The servers were so nice and kept making sure everything was alright. The atmosphere was so fun and I loved the music!!

Exactly the kind of Mexican place we were looking for! We wanted authentic and found TacoNooga to be fresh and friendly! We were given chips and salsa after ordering our drinks. The salsa was AMAZING! Wish they sold it by the bottle! The chips were corn which was perfect as I am GF. We ordered chicken tacos and my daughter got nachos on the kids meal. She loved hers and the chicken tacos were perfect with the lime (and adding salsa) they provided! I was sad I hadn't ordered more! If you go order more than you need as you will absolutely want leftovers again and again!

Truly authentic & delicious! Super affordable, super cute, and quite convenient! I am so glad that I stopped in here with my daughter cuz the food was absolutely delicious. The service was phenomenal and the location superb! I ordered the kids quesadilla. It came with rice and beans and I enjoyed the Carne Asada taco on flour tortilla instead of corn. Absolutely phenomenal!

I have visited Taconooga a couple of times on trips to Chattanooga and I've never been disappointed. The specialty tacos, especially their namesake with grilled chicken, are worth the $6.50 price tag. I had that, along with a perfectly crispy carnitas taco. It had a few too many onions for my liking but it was still a great meal. It was a little different to pay $4.50+ for chips and salsa, but there was plenty and I did not run out in my short meal. It's definitely going to continue to be one of the first places I stop on each trip.

FANTASTIC little Mexican restaurant. Family owned and run. If we lived here, Taconooga would be our regular spot!

Have walked by this spot a million times and just now tried it. I love the cooler full of yummy drinks if you feel like a cold sugar rush in a hot day. I got three tacos (I ordered a combo but never got the beans and rice). My favorite was the ground beef as it had more seasoning than the other ones. Husband had the fish and shrimp and loved the shrimp ones. The fact they give you three sauces on the table is amazing. I really enjoyed the spicy one pictured in the middle although I personally could stand for an extra hot option. Easy in and out, we would stop in any time for a taco fix.

Boy, this little spot has what you want if you like hand made corn tortillas & fresh salsa's. The Al Pastor tacos were excellent.

This place is crazy good. We were in town visiting some friends and this is where they took us, and I was so happy about it. The tacos were delicious and huge! Two tacos filled me up from an empty stomach. I got the chicken poblano and the fried fish tacos. The poblano has chicken, cheese and a sort of spinach/artichoke dip on top. It was such a unique but delicious taco. The fish taco had this awesome mango salsa and came with a special sauce that was amazing. The guacamole was also on point. The employees were very accommodating to my wife who is on a very restricted diet right now. Add Taconooga to that "must visit" list for Chattanooga!

Off of Frazier, and bit hard to find. Basically hole in the wall. Inside small and nothing to look at. We had guacamole with mango which was delicious, chips were made fresh and yummy. Had the street tacos Carne Asada and Shrimp, they were just plain but ok, not bad not great. Overall good food. The homemade Popsicles and guac I would definitely come back for but tacos...iv had better with more flavor.

The basic chicken tacos were so full of flavor - delicious! The chicken taconooga with the corn salsa/topping and cheese was good and the shrimp taco was great too, but my favorite was the basic taco flavor of the chicken!

Excellent chicken tortilla soup. Best I have ever had! Sorry about the photo. If I had known it was going to be so good I qould have the photo prior to eating.

We visited Taconooga on Saturday after wandering around North Shore for a bit. We started with the bean and cheese dip and then had a few tacos (carne asada and al pastor). The menu was surprisingly interesting (I was surprised to see things like huitlacoche!), but everything seemed underseasoned to me - from the beans of the bean and cheese dip to the meat in the tacos. Everything we tried was missing salt for sure. It's a fun spot though!

My husband and I really liked the chori-queso. He got a chorizo taco, Carnitas taco, and bean and cheese taco. The chorizo was his favorite. I got Pupusas revueltas. They were really good but I could've use more cheese. I loved the pickled cabbage on top.

The chicken tortilla soup and giant mango/guacamole is enough to drive to Chattanooga from Nashville for.

We had our two young girls and they were very understanding and accommodating (high chair and coloring sheets). The menu is interesting but to be honest, we enjoyed almost none of our items. The cocktails were very meh. Not awful but not great. The food is really where this place lacks in my opinion. No one was a fan of almost any dish we got. The puffy tacos with redfish were likely the worst. Under seasoned and close to being gross. The catfish dish was so so. The fish itself was good but the grits were hard and the green tomatoes were so sour that they overpowered everything else. The ribs tried but I'd suggest going to a legit BBQ joint for real meats like this. The potatoes were greasy and mostly bland. I'd rank this our least favorite meal in the city. Interestingly enough. We were just at a Michelin star restaurant less than a week before and had the complete opposite experience.

Upon arrival, a friendly host found us comfortable booth seating behind the bar. The waitress not only answered our food allergy related questions pertaining to certain dish prep but the manager came over to our table to assure us that she would be double checking our order to make sure there was no allergen cross contamination. Such a kind, thoughtful gesture! Mom and I ordered the sampler to split - a huge tray filed with delish gluten free chips, a delish bowl salsa verde, a delish bowl of homemade guacamole, and a delish bowl of homemade cheese sauce. For my lunch, I got two of my favorite tacos on their menu still, the California Club ones, large tacos filled with roasted chicken, a tasty like crema, and avocado. Not as hungry as I, Mom got an Oy Vey Taco, another longstanding goodie, a brisket based taco, which she enjoyed. Our later than planned Wednesday lunch was perfect.

It took a while for a server to see us, but then it was fast to get our drinks as well as food once orders were placed. Tacos were alright, Cali club was messy & drippy. Homeboy was good but I don't think I'd get the spicy version again - not overly spice just overly sauced. The appetizer trio was good, but seemed expensive at $14. Overall the place is nice, but a little expensive for tacos.

The bathrooms are always clean, which I appreciate. Paid street parking is usually easy to find, though during busy hours it can take a little more time. The veggie fajitas are an absolute treat and full of flavor. The guacamole is fresh and perfectly seasoned, and the salsa is truly top notch. One of the most delightful surprises is that the churros are vegan, and they are unforgettable. The Papillón dish is especially meaningful. It can be made vegan and comes from the owner's grandmother's recipe in Guatemala. That personal touch really shines through and makes the menu feel inspired and unique. There used to be a young blonde male bartender who was hands down one of the best servers I have ever had. Highly recommend if you are looking for consistently great food and a standout dining experience in Chattanooga.
