As a person who had been in the restaurant industry for over 7 years, I was surprised at how indifferent the staff at Agave and Rye were yesterday. I understand it was Ironman weekend, but it was just carelessness that led to a poor experience. 1. Had a party of 8 and needed to be outside because there was a dog with us. Was quoted a 20 minute wait outside, watched more than half of the tables become available and had to recheck in before we got sat 30 minutes into our wait. 2. We ordered drinks and appetizers and while it took some time we were ready to order - we order and ask to go ahead and get refills because it had been 20-30 minutes with just drinks on the table. An additional 30 minutes go by before we get a round of refills of standard fountain drinks. 3. After almost an hour after ordering our food, I go inside to check as I had seen another party of 8 and a 2 top outside with another server already receive their food even though they were sat well after us. When I go inside to check in, our server Becca is casually chatting with the hosts, I get her attention about my concern, and low and behold 10 seconds later our food is brought out - cold. Telling me it was sitting under the heat lamps patiently waiting for the server who knew she was getting her 20% tip either way. No manager touch, only source of contact was our server Becca who couldn't care less. I'll be sure to take my business elsewhere when we next visit Chattanooga. If you know it's a big day for your business you should have your top brass on large tables only. I typically tip over the 20% as I know how hard the restaurant industry is, but without customer service, hot food, or any sense of urgency, I could've gotten a better meal from a food truck. Look for somewhere that is excited when you walk in the door, I should've taken the hostess's eye roll as a sign and stopped it there.

Super cute vibe and fun decor. Known for their epic taco sampler plate of fusion tacos. But they also have more traditional tacos as well. Hostess was super nice and pointed out bathrooms when seated. The food Service was utterly fantastic. Yazmin was a delight. She thoroughly explained menu and made some recommendations. We chose epic taco sampler: Mini Gangsta, Mini crown Jewel, Mini Smoke Show. All delicious but have to admit we wouldn't order lobster on taco next time. We also tried the whipped queso with chips. At first I was bummed thinking I wished it was hot but it was a HOT day and the chill with the queso flavor and toppings hit the spot. Really enjoyed. I know it was HOT day but I was a little bummed the AC was so high that multiple of us were using menus to fan ourselves. They do have a cute patio.

This trendy hipster taco restaurant was a fun experience. I'd like to go back when we have more time to fully enjoy it. We were on our way to watch our grandson in a rowing competition. The server was marvelous and went way beyond the call of duty to make sure we got our food and check quickly so we wouldn't be late. Dan and I got a flight of tacos. Our son in law got one, too. Our daughter ordered elote. That's what I'm getting next time along with a taco, of course. Elote literally means "ear of corn." It came with a very nice presentation. Debi let me have a bite and it was delicious, but I mainly like it for the presentation. Our eyes have to eat, too. It came on a cob of corn complete with the stock still on. The corn dip was poured on the ear of the corn cob. The taco flight Dan and I shared was sea food. We got 2 with battered cod and one with shrimp and grits. Both were good. We liked the battered cod best. Loved the greens and sauce. It had delicious and unexpected flavors. This is not your usual taco stand.

Agave and Rye was an absolute standout. The menu is packed with so many creative, over-the-top taco options that choosing just a few felt almost impossible in the best way. I ended up going with the taco flight and selected two Crown Jewel tacos -- the truffle mac and cheese with lobster -- along with one Island Banger, featuring coconut shrimp and mango salsa. Every single taco was phenomenal. The flavors were bold, layered, and genuinely exciting. What really sets them apart is their signature double-tortilla approach: a fried hard shell tucked inside a soft tortilla. It creates the perfect contrast of crunch and softness in every bite and holds up incredibly well to the generous fillings. Between the inventive combinations, fun menu, and the unbelievable execution, this was a top-tier taco experience from start to finish.

We ate dinner here after the aquarium and before doing a haunted pub crawl ghost walk tour. They weren't super busy. It was a Friday. They ran out of C02, so we couldn't get soda. We all ordered different tacos. Several of us ordered the fish taco. The fish was cold. In fact I think all the tacos were cold. I don't know tif they were supposed to be or not. The chips and queso were delicious. I think their salsa is way overpriced. I probably wouldn't go back to this location.

I am currently here now while I'm writing a review so I just wanna bring up. The food was really good here. I'm not sure why the fried rice one is like the most popular one, but it wasn't up to my standards. Didn't care for the fried rice as much, but I do like the shrimp that was on top of it. The one that actually shocked me was I think it's the bougie beach that went surprisingly was really good and I definitely would recommend maybe getting all three of those I did try the fajita one as well and it was OK overall I think the service was really quick. They do all of them pay attention to our area. The drinks I got the flight a little sweet for me but what did I expect right but overall, I love atmosphere. I'm gonna include some photos. I said next to the prince statue. I definitely recommend if you come in anywhere you sit as perfectly beautiful and they do have outdoor patio scene as well. It's just kind of hot to sit outside. I recommend it. It is so much to choose from. I didn't get to go through half the menu so I'm pretty sure whoever you bring we'll find something they like.

So y'all know I like to spin the block on my favorites! I had to come back! So Kayte my waitress extraordinaire this time was just as amazing! I ordered the Shrimp Rangoon Bites and OMG this is my favorite right now in the world...and yes I ordered TWO! However, before I got them wrapped to go, I ordered the The Island Banger, The Chipotle Chika , The Gangsta... I haven't tested them as of yet, but I am sure they are just as amazing as Everything else... I got the Bourbon Peach Punch X 2 :)... it is soooo tasty. And got a swig or Wild Turkey! It was a great time! The atmosphere here is always very lively!!! There is a festival outside the window right now as well! I give this place sincerely a 10 out of 10... and of course I will be back, because my business keeps drawing me through town! Kudos Kayte & Agave & Rye!!!

Had a hurried lunch as our grandson's race was about to start. Our server understood we were in a hurry and she delivered. Very eclectic decor with a definite hipster vibe. We old farts were kind of out of our element but enjoyed it all the same. Would have loved to have had more time to explore the menu both food and drink. We got a "flight" of seafood tacos. Each had a crispy fish taco and shared a shrimp and grits taco. Both yummy.

Consistently good food and reasonable prices. The burritos were packed with flavor, and the ingredients tasted fresh. I love the grilled street tacos!

Overal....can't beat the ambiance of the restaurant! Amazing views and I happened to dine on a day when the weather could not be any better! Customer service was a bit lack luster with long wait times to place order and receive food. But overall I'd give them another chance!

Chips & Chunky Salsa

My lover, Lyles, already left a review but I had to write one as well. We had the BEST TIME here with our server, CHANNA. She was so sweet and full of amazing suggestions and knowledge. She recommended us the Bee Sting which was unlike anything I've ever had. It made my mouth tingle like a bell when it's jingled.

So this location needs to go some before it will beat our local Agave and Rye & our Rachel. BUT - the food was still delicious. The service was ok, but definitely get the ick when a server treats you like they think they know your 'type' but he made up for it. The location's layout and decor followed the traditional of eclectic vibes with bold colors and Dia De Los Muertos inspired art. I am loving the new expanded menu and return of some of my favorites. The new chipotle chicken is delicious and the mac-n-cheese donuts are so much more delicious than you'd like! It's definitely a must try, but go super hungry and willing to share!

I'm writing this review, but really feel like I need to go back again to get a full experience…read more We went here over the holiday break because we haven't been here yet - and wanted to go out. I had been sick and Cooped up in the House. When we arrived, it was easy to find and the location is perfect. Parking is valet, or park on the street. We paid $8 to park in a lot nearby and walk. There is an awesome spiral staircase in the middle of the hotel, but you can only get to it from the 2nd floor. Or take the elevator to the 10th floor and you'll hear a bit of noise, walk towards it, and you're there. The bar/restaurant feel is amazing. It's simple, yet elegant and classy. You could come in casual wear and enjoy a drink with friends and watch a sports game (as they have TV's) or sit on the enclosed outdoor patio around one of 3 fire pits and sip on a crafted cocktail. I had an Irish Manhattan - and it was great. My husband got the pineapple mojito and it was wonderful as well. My friends ordered the tacos and said it was amazing. We didn't order food. Here are just some things to note: - Service is different here, it's the feel of a rooftop bar in NYC where the servers come around and get your order (just a lot smaller than the NYC rooftop bar scene. - You can order drinks directly at the bar if needed. - You can order food and drinks even in the fire pit area. - Drink prices range from $5 beers to $10-15 craft cocktails. Compared to the area, this isn't a bad price at all. - wine options were a little more pricey and slim on selections, but the options were great choices in my opinion. - the bar is kind of loud - I was screaming at my friend to talk - it wasn't a club or loud music vibe, it's just people were enjoying themselves. So basically, if you are taking a group here to chat it up and don't want to scream, I would go elsewhere for that. (Say a group of friends that have catching up to do) - it is a great date location and there are couches and chairs side by side for the perfect one on one convo even if it is loud. - it opened in the fall so I can't comment on what it's like for the nice weather, but it was warm with the plastic enclosed walls for January. - the views are nice - but I would say Chattanooga's best views. This was probably the biggest disappointment for me. I was hoping for a little more. All in all - it's a great venue and a beautiful hotel. The service was great and the atmosphere was amazing. The only reason I wouldn't go here, was if I was wanting to support more of a local bar scene. Other than that - it's a win win for craft cocktails and fire pits! :)

The tap list is very small, only 2-3 taps if I recall correctly, but they had Ballast Point Sculpin on tap so I was very happy. The bottle list is much larger. However, the bread and butter here are the cocktails. I got to try a sip of several different ones from people in my party and none of them disappointed. The cherry on top of all of this were both bartenders were extremely courteous and efficient despite a packed house.
