I finally made my way to this fabulous restaurant I have heard so much about. It did not disappoint . Our waitress, Anna Lisa was so inviting and really allowed us to get comfortable and enjoy this amazing meal. I am a Lover of chicken piccata (not all are created equal) but this one did not disappoint and hit every mark. And I'd take two of the okra to go and if I could have it everyday I'd gladly have it, I enjoyed it with the whipped feta. Now we tried three desserts (don't judge) cheesecake, adult s'more and coconut tres leches... Chef's Kiss... I will definitely Walk/hitch hike back from Atlanta very soon. read more

I have been to this restaurant several times and it's one of my favorites in Chattanooga. The fried leeks appetizer is wonderful, pork chop is amazing! Chicken piccata is fantastic. Get some bread on the side. It's perfect. It comes from Neidlov's and they make this bread specifically for the restaurant. Favorite cocktail is " The Sure Thing" it's kind of like a margarita and delicious. Service is always great with a very lovely atmosphere. read more

From the moment I stepped in the door the ambiance set the mood for a wonderful dining experience There is a main dining room and a front room with bi-fold windows that were open due to the beautiful 70* temp outside. This room is perfect if you are sensitive to noise or just are looking for a place with low to no background music. Nathan was our waiter and was very knowledgeable on all dishes served. 4 appetizers were ordered for the table PLEASE PLEASE order the Deviled Eggs! I ordered the Prime Bavette with a garlic butter sauce and a side of mashed potatoes. The bavette was cooked to my specifications (medium rare) and the seasoning on top along with the garlic butter were a tasty combination. Mashed potatoes were light and creamy. For dessert I had the coconut tres leches layer cake served with whipped cream and toasted coconut flakes. Also a home run! I was with 4 other people who all enjoyed their orders. read more

Highlight of our trip! We were able to make a reservation (make sure to do so) and get a high top for 3. From the moment you walk in you can smell the experience you're about to have. We decided to try some of the Happy Hour appetizers and were not disappointed. The Crispy Leeks are my new obsession. Simple and just a perfect alternative to the greasy onion blooms you'd get at the chain restaurants. And elevated of course. The okra chips have just a little spice with lime and chile salt; and are addictive. And if you like deviled eggs - you'll love the house pickle that sits on top of theirs! We all decided to get something wood fired - because of the smell. None of us were disappointed. The Wood Grilled Salmon was cooked medium and perfectly with a sauce that perfectly accompanied the meal. I didn't taste the Swordfish or the red curry half chicken - but I know one of the next things I'm ordering will be. The statement 'the best chicken dish I ever had' was used..... I would highly recommend trying out SideTrack and definitely take advantage of the Happy Hour options. Call ahead and have one of the best meals of your trip! See you again next trip! read more

So a Tuesday night 5:30pm... a wait of 45mins estimated. Party of 3. Nice high top in bar area available and a few other booths and tables open. I don't understand... we sat at the bar and ordered drinks and then meals because no table was 'available'... yet the high top was still open. Ridiculous. Food was good and bar service good too. Shrimp Scampi and Wedge Salad for me. Shrimp were really good. The wedge is one of my favorites and the lettuce served was really subpar... still dressing and tomatoes were good though. Savory chicken was really really good! The $5 plate of sloppy mashed potatoes seemed off... not a sprig of parsley or atleast a nice 'dallop' ... not classy restaurant presentation for sure. Nice ambience, but not worth the frustration and not a manager in site to check on diners and people waiting. read more

Officially in my Top Two favorite restaurants of all time! Really! We returned Sunday night for a fourth visit after dining at Sidetrack on Thursday night. Two years in a row we visited Chattanooga for Chattajack and ate twice each year at this culinary delight! Tonight did not disappoint! Annalisa, from Tupelo of all places, a fellow Mississippian, took excellent care of us. (Service is top notch always here!) We loaded up again! Starters: Whipped Feta with House-made Pitas, Crispy Okra Chips, and Truffle Fried Mushrooms (3 varieties) and Rosemary. Every bite sensational! Salads: Gem Caesar (1st) and Grilled Gem (3rd) - had the Wedge (2nd) on Thursday. All excellent. Ranked here is our preferences when we return. Opted for Fresh Fish: we both got the Pan Roasted American Red Snapper. Winner! Side: Wood Grilled Okra - perfection! Ending: French Press Velo Decaf coffee with real cream and brown sugar cubes. Side note: started off with a personal tea pot of hot Harney & Sons Japanese Sencha Green Tea with lemon wedges and honey. Even their hot tea tastes amazing! Do they put us under some sort of spell when we walk through the door?! Grand Slam every single time we dine here. What more can I say??? read more

Side Track is beautiful inside and the menu is very good. The service was quick and friendly and he was super proud of the restaurant with a lot of history. We started with the pimento cheese and I think we are both in agreement that it's the best we've ever had. Then we had the lasagna dish and the burger with fries and both were flawless - though my husband wished there was more lasagna. The cocktails were great, as well. We'll be back! read more

This was our third time visiting Sidetrack, and just like the previous two, everything was absolutely wonderful. We were seated right on time for our reservation, and Chloe--our server--greeted us immediately with a smile and took great care of us throughout the evening. The food was outstanding. We started with the Charred Gem Salad and warm pita, which paired beautifully with a round of happy hour martinis and a Vesper. The pork chop was perfectly cooked and came with a side of mashed potatoes that hit all the comfort notes. We also tried the Rajas, which added a flavorful twist to the meal. And for dessert? The Coconut Tres Leches was a showstopper--light, creamy, and just the right amount of indulgent. Sidetrack continues to impress with its cozy atmosphere, attentive service, and consistently delicious food. This is a perfect local place where you can find awesome service and food! We made a reservation because we were told that this place fills up quickly and they were right. We decided to order wine and the truffle fried mushrooms for appetizer. Our waitress, Annalise was so kind, funny and personable! She made the experience even better! The mushrooms were so delicious! For our entrees we ordered the red snapper, grilled okra, charred gem lettuce salad and the salmon bisque. We also ordered shrimp and grits to go. All of the dishes were delicious! So much flavor and I loved the presentation of the dishes. Inside does have a dim light ambiance to give a more intimate atmosphere and they have many tables and booths. Despite a chair not designed for my "sturdy" bottom, the ambience from the personalized greeting at the host stand, despite never have been her before, to the pleasant dining area it was pleasant. We were there on a Wednesday evening and a sizeable crowd developed. We fit into the crowd as most seemed to be from the baby boom generation. The service and the food were very good. We've been here two times now and the food is usually pretty good, get the whipped fetta and the brussels sprout appetizer they are really good. Ambiance is good, might be to noisy for some, and the service is as expected from a $100/guest establishment, well trained and attentive. The reason for the 4 out of 5 stars is simple, my wife got the chicken piccata and the breast wasn't pounded out, it was just a big ole breast of chicken prepared "like" chicken piccata would be, very disappointed with that. I had the scallops and they were prepared exquisitely so that was a huge plus but to get 5 out of 5 stars you need to be perfect. read more

I have been here twice due to reviews and its proximity to my hotels. The time of day, busyness of restaurant, and size of my party (1 v. 2) were all different. Despite once even asking to be seated in the quietest place possible, both times I was seated in the last hi-top in the bar in the doorway to the kitchen. Food was good but not exceptional, particularly for the price. Doubt I will try it again, since there were plenty of tables for 2 in quiet areas still being served and seated as I left, within vast open areas I had noticed as I came in. read more

We were in Chattanooga visiting family and went here with them for dinner. Reservations for 5.45 and we were seated promptly with no wait at all. We started off with some Okra Chips and Rajas. I am a huge fan of some fried okra, but this dish brought okra to a whole new level! So tasty and crispy. The rajas were also delicious, a very unique dish. I ordered the Pan Roasted Scallops with a side of Sauteed Mushrooms while my wife chose the Shrimp and Grits. The scallops were delicious! A perfect sear on them and cooked just right! That brown butter jus was super and the addition of the maitake mushroom was the right addition to the meal without being overbearing. My side dish of sauteed mushrooms was phenomenal - I am a big fan of mushrooms and this was a tasty mix of cremini, shiitake, maitake mushrooms with some heat from the calabrian chili in the sauce. I was able to grab a bit of my wife's shrimp and grits and they were delicious...most likely the best I have had at a restaurant. The grits were cooked just right (which is so critical in this dish). The shrimp had a really good flavor and the andouille sausage added a little kick of heat to the whole dish...just right. We finished off the night with the Grownup S'mores - SO, SO, SO, SO GOOD! Our server, Grace, was wonderful as well. Whether you're in Chattanooga for a visit or you live here, you owe it to your taste buds to check out Sidetrack...I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more
