Really fun ambience, rooftop is great on a cool day. Love all the pickle themed dishes. Pickle marg was pretty great. Burgers were huge and really tasty.

This place is awesome. The bartender was phenomenal great customer service, tasty drinks. Place was clean, food was FANTASTIC. I got the fish and chips and my best friend got the Philly cheese steak with tots! So much food left over we was able to split it with another one of our friends who showed up. Thank yall for having us! We will be back

In the area celebrating Friendsgiving. One of our crew picked this spot and it was a hit. The menu had a good selection for all types of eaters. Loved the rustic and old school vibe. The service was great and the food was delicious. The portions were huge and the prices were reasonable. Good location for a quick spot to eat.

The food was good, the service was solid and a cute little place to get a lunch. I had the pickle brined breaded chicken on a salad. My husband had a chicken sandwich and we got the breaded pickle spears for an appetizer. I was worried that the "gimmick" of the location and the "pickle" theme was going to disappoint but I would go back if in the area. It was pretty quick while we were there but I would worry if it was busy tourist season that it might be loud or even difficult to get a table.

Burger! I'm sorry I can't remember which one!

It's busy and I hate crowds but we had a great time! Everything we had was good- Reuben (upgraded to fries). Server Tanya, (I hope I got that right) was EXCELLENT, and a Burger I can't the name but it has pickled onions in it. Casual and 21 and up only (although my teens would have loved everything about it.) Food was good, and nice, laidback atmosphere. Parking was easy. Nice on the patio outdoors but if you want quiet go inside. (Which too was fun). Definitely coming back for the food and service.

What an eclectic and cool spot! I truly enjoyed my experience at the Pickle Barrel. Unique, fun, and memorable. The food was surprisingly good too, it exceeded my expectations. We were waited on quickly and served our food and beverages quickly as well. The pierogi were stellar!

For pickle lovers and non-pickle lovers alike, this place is so packed with flavor. It's a small dive-bar-style spot with stone walls and floors and it was a great find! Our service was really good--even though our server was being pulled in all directions. She was working the bar, the floor, and we even saw her helping out in the kitchen at one point. She handled it all like a champ and never left anyone feeling ignored. I got the signature burger with a black bean patty, and my boo got the chicken tenders with mozzarella sticks. We also split the fried pickle spears--absolutely amazing. Everything was seasoned to perfection, and every sauce we tried was so good. I love pickles, so this place was made for me. My boyfriend has a love-hate relationship with them, and he still cleaned his plate. That says a lot.

Good selection, decent menu, and the food was delish. Staff was cool, and the prices are totally reasonable. Outdoor seating was also great.

So this joint is a go-to spot and it's a have to spot if you are in the area. It's not astounding or it's not life-changing but it's a pretty good bar that has decent burgers and a pretty good area. You're right on the main street so you can see and be close to this bar and maybe some other things considering how far you're willing to walk. It's very dark and drab and dreary but that's not a big deal. That's just a mood of the bar, that's the ambiance. It's supposed to be a dive bar kind of situation. You'll come in the door from the front and there's going to be a bar there and some seats and then there's an upstairs because it has a rooftop area as well which is probably to me the good selling point of this spot. Through top maybe fits about 10 tables or so, but you can get a good view of some downtown scenery while you're there. And I don't get it twisted, it's not like it's on the 35th floor lol So don't expect to see all of Chattanooga. But it's a nice place to be if you are in the area and want a nice seat with some breeze. I have to wait a while to get the waist app to come over, which I wasn't really sure why, because it wasn't a full day. I think we waited maybe 15 minutes or so, and that part was the unsavory part. After we got the attention of the way staff they were pretty good about it. The waiter asked had somebody been over, and it was kind of obvious that it wasn't the case. But like I said, we got through that and I got a beer and I got a burger and I was happy. I just hope next time attention is paid a little bit more to people who are sitting there so you don't neglect anybody. Be careful on the steps lol. The steps are a winding staircase going up and if you are trying to go up or down and have had too much to drink, you may want to be careful lol. I would definitely suggest this place. My waitstaff experience would not be the thing that breaks me from going back because I enjoyed the air and the vibe and the view and the burger.

I came by as a recommendation from a coworker. They told me to try the ODP. I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I walked in it was fairly empty and there wasn't any direction as to if it was seat yourself or not. It did appear that most folks chose to go to the rooftop. That's probably where I should have gone to get the full experience. But I just picked an available table downstairs. There was plenty on the menu that sounded good. I really wish I had tried the fried pickles, but I thought it may have been too much pickle for me with my cocktail. But chose to go with the pickle brined chicken tenders. They were fine. Nothing spectacular.

So, I've been looking to visit this bar for some time, but since there is smoking permitted up top, my wife had no interest to visit, so in spite of a high school friends claim this is a great spot, I had to wait until I could make this stop on. my own. So people call this a dive bar, well, they've got that right. It has quite the personality and you can see it and feel it, once you walk in. Since I was alone, I parked my butt at the bar, it's a small bar, but so much better for the bartender to be able to engage, which I did over a cold draft. Unfortunately, since I saw pierogi's on the menu, I didn't take the time to try any of the pickle-influenced items on the menu. That's probably a big mistake on my part. I'm a sucker for good pierogi's, sadly those, these were not. My guess is they were Mrs. T's frozen, not very good, not authentic enough, and just a bad decision on my part. There was no mistake with my second offering though, the Immigrant Sandwich. Now this was tasty, but a little friendly criticism for the kitchen, the melding of all those wonderful flavors is key, make sure you get that brown mustard spread across the entire sandwich. It is that little touch that makes the rest of the food symphony work to optimal level. In fairness, I should not have expected an establishment in Chattanooga with the word Pickle in its' name, to give me a good pierogi, too much to ask. I will be back though, I liked the spot, and I need to experience what they can offer when they let that pickle shine!

Great service on Christmas Day!!! The vibe was awesome. Food hit the spot. We were just stopping through town, but will definitely be back!

This is probably as close as they have to a sports bar atmosphere given the number of tv's and of course the ping pong table. When the weather is good, they have the ability to open up the back of the restaurant to their outside eating area, which is great. When the weather is uncooperative and the outside closed off, I find HFC to be a bit dark, with the motif maybe a bit dated. There's a full bar, with a very good beer selection. The service is always good, a characteristic of all the Monen restaurants. As to the food, there's a broad enough selection to satisfy anyone in your family. While the Philly brisket sandwich I had was just okay and I'm still trying to figure out the buffalo cucumber salad, the nachos and chicken wings were really good.

Their sandwiches come with chips (I assume they are Ruffles... because they have ridges)... for a buck more you can have fries, or for $1.50 more you can have onion rings. I didn't want any of these, so the server told me I could have a salad (or any of their other sides). She disappeared and soon came back with a small bowl with a couple of pieces of iceberg lettuce, a huge quarter slice of tomato, and a few other "salad-y" type things. It was accompanied by the cup of the thickest blue cheese dressing I've ever seen in my entire life. I turned the cup over and the blue cheese came out in a big clump on top of my salad. I had to break it up with my fork and mix it up with my "salad". There was almost as much dressing as there was salad. Not a good start. Before I was even done with my "salad", our food was ready. This was not too surprising considering we were one of three tables in the place during the lunch rush, but I still thought it was real fast. Our plates were set down in front of us and I was ready to dig in. I grabbed one half of my sandwich and immediately felt that the bread was soggy on one side (the side on the plate)... and not just wet... soggy... soaked as in the bread turned to mush in my fingers. I took a bite and was disappointed even further. Something just didn't taste right. After choking my way through the first half of my sandwich, I figured out what it was. It was the "sauerkraut". It was the worst tasting sauerkraut I've ever put in my mouth. I scraped it off the other half of my sandwich, discarded the soggy piece of bread and folded the remaining half of bread over just the corned beef... that significantly improved the sandwich and that's not saying much. I was also under the impression that my salad would replace my chips... but no, I got a half plate of Ruffles and a fresh from the jar pickle spear too. In fact, I paid an extra two bucks for my little tiny bowl of "salad". Obviously none of the food here is fresh. It's bought at the grocery store, slapped together and heated in the microwave. I think this is more of a "saloon" and the "bistro" was an afterthought. Our server never checked back with us to see how things were going. She did have plenty of time to bring the other tables their checks and to sit and talk with the cooks. In fact, she was so busy with that the cashier (a manager, maybe?) came by with the check for us just after we got our food. In a hurry, much? I mean, were they *sooo* busy that they needed the table space? I think not. As for the decor, it didn't seem that old.... there's been some wear and tear. Obviously, it has a little rougher life when it's a saloon instead of a bistro. Honestly, the best part about this place? Free parking downtown. Maybe this is a great place to listen to live music and drink beer, but stay away from the food... stay far away. My bowels still hate me after eating this stuff.
