Murder Burger? Check! Had to try this after all of the hype I've heard. I LOVED the physical dining room (kinda hard to describe, but very weird and cool). The guy who took our order did a great job with a quick overview and rules (don't ask for ketchup!) and was quick on the cold beers (winner, winner, murder burger dinner!). While I enjoyed the visit, not sure I need another one of those niche burgers right away, but I wanted to try other menu items, and take some friends by to try it. Given that, I'll be back. Quirky place in a converted house in the expanding transitional Main Street area. They have a limited menu with Neo-traditional or "elevated classics". For example a cheeseburger is presented as they make it, without an interest in how you want it, particularly if you are a ketchup person. In fact there is a sign at the bar where you order your food that warns you they offer no ketchup or French fries, nor will they ever. The burger did however have a house special sauce that had the very slightest hint of curry which if I had known ahead of time, would have not ordered but having experienced it left me glad I did. Eccentric vibes, local favorite. We tried this spot after seeing several TikTok videos on the Murder Burger. We ordered 2 burgers, chips and a couple Cokes. It is counter service to order. Stopped in for a quick bite since it was close to the Airbnb and seemed people raved about this place. "The burger , the burger, the burger" So I decide to take their word and of course get the burger. Sounds tasty and full of flavor. Sounds...... I didn't get any of the onion, garam masala aioli , or pepper crema. The burger was hot and cheese was melted but that's almost the end of it. Burger was extremely bland and lacking in any of the flavors described on the menu. Not being local maybe this is the best in Chattanooga but in general it absolutely missed the mark on flavor and wouldn't be ranked on the scale at all with out major seasoning and adjustments. Also Got the arroz con elotes which is not elotes at all. It's Indian rice with corn. And oddly enough it's where all the salt went. On the south side of Main street in Chattanooga we had to go and try the infamous murder burger. This is a smaller restaurant with a comfy atmosphere. The staff was friendly and courteous. Now for the Murder Burger. Wow and wow. This is a smash burger on a brioce bun and a wonderful sauce inside, maybe one of the best burgers I have had. I've been wanting to try this place for their widely talked about "murder burger". It was absolutely amazing amazing! Perfect in every respect. The smash patties were perfectly browned on the edges. The bread was soft. And the toppings were wonderful. If you don't like Indian food, it might be too much for you, but I kind of doubt it. I ordered it just the way they make it With a masala aïoli and red pepper creama along with onions and I think a little shredded lettuce and cheese. I was a little concerned sauces, might be overwhelming, but it wasn't. It was perfect. Will definitely be ordering one again. I ordered it to go and drove almost 20 minutes home before we ate it and it was still warm and delicious ( granted I got there right as it was coming out and put it in an insulated bag- maybe I should drive for Uber eats or DoorDash.) . This place gets pretty crowded because it is loved by the neighborhood usuals as well as the people further away. That being said, the wait for a spot to sit and a Murder Burger is worth it. Find a seat at the bar if you can, grab a can of somewhat-obscure domestic beer or an interesting handshake, snack on some Indian-inspired chips, and try not to salivate too hard while waiting on the burger. I know there are other things on the menu, but we can't stop thinking about the burger. I thought it was over-hyped, but I'm glad I was wrong. I may be drooling while writing this. read more

If I was rating this place as a bar it would probably be higher and if that's what you're looking for then disregard this review. Like a lot of people I saw the TikTok video about how this place had the best burger in Chattanooga so I stopped by. First of all my living room is bigger than the dining area and I'm not rich. It was a total bar scene and after 6 you have to be 21. They don't open until 5 so that was weird. Not many choices for drinks if you don't drink alcohol and the few options are served in a can and very overpriced. You order at the counter and the food is brought to your table so service is what it is. Now, as far as the food...it's ok. I've had better burgers, a lot of them. It's good not great. Also be prepared to just have a burger, there's no fries. How can you have burgers with no fries! All in all if you're looking for a place to have a drink and are a little hungry this place is good. I don't hear much about lo main, but was excited to check it out since it was right by a concert at Barking Legs Theater. I fell in love as soon as we walked in, the dark grunge with with weird 80s movies playing was very charming and a great change up to the usual Chattanooga scene. The place was packed, but we were served our drinks quickly and the burger was a solid burger with great flavors. I'll definitely be back. read more

Still one of my favorite spots. The murder burger is the best by far, the ambiance is really friggen cool, and Jen & Graham always make me feel welcome every time I visit! I am a bit of a tomboy so having a shorts and tee shirt kinda vibe with really epic food and great service is the way to go. I usually sit at the bar and if they're not busy- they always find ways to strike up and conversation or talk to me about what's new in their world. Overhead someone talking about this place....so I had to see for myself. 5:30 on a Saturday and the place was at 90% capacity. Parking lot full : good sign. Divey for certain but charming as well. A really old house with a lot of original woodwork and windows. Made me wonder about the families that lived here before it was turned into a bar. In an up and coming part of Chattanooga a definite plus for the area. Excellent bartender: fast and courteous. We didn't eat but man the food coming out looked and smelled delicious. Wrapped in paper. 5:30 and only people In the place. Limited menu and beer selection. We just had the most surreal experience. This is the review I just wrote: We just had the WORST experience here. My husband and some of his coworkers decided to try this place for a late lunch. He called and I was in the area- but had already gotten my kids food from a drive- thru- but didn't get myself anything, so we decided to meet him and his co-workers at Lo Main. After getting settled and reading the menu, my husband noticed the disclaimer on the back that said "no outside food and drink". He went to the bartender and explained the situation- especially the fact that one of our children is autistic and only has a handful of safe foods that he will actually eat. (We are typically rule followers but considering that the restaurant was literally empty and we were bringing more guests to eat, we didn't think it would be a huge deal- which is why we asked for permission). The bartender was incredibly kind and helpful and considering that the entire restaurant was EMPTY except for our table, said it was okay this one time. Fast forward to when the guy from the back came and delivered our food and screamed at our entire table (including my now terrified children) about the outside food policy. I tried to explain to him that we had spoken to the bartender- but I couldn't get a word in because he was just yelling over me. He then went and berated the bartender in front of us and proceeded to walk by us numerous time with an exasperated loud sigh and dirty looks for the remainder of our time there. Then another lady from the kitchen came out and gave our table dagger eyes as well. My kids were terrified. Again- we were the only patrons inside the restaurant. It was appalling. The food was subpar, at best. The only redeeming thing about this place was the kind bartender- who got berated by the guy from the back. I sincerely hope the bartender finds a place of employment that does not treat him like trash. read more
