    Smoked trout dip
    Gen M.

Very good! The Italian Summer cocktail was delightful! The smoked trout dip was reminiscent of the smoked fish dips I used to love in Florida. The pot roast was tender and flavorful. The Mac and cheese...the true star of the show! YUM! Amazing lunch! And very affordable. Service was excellent as well.

This was a group dinner with work colleagues. Hard pressed to think of any problems with the dinner. Everyone seemed happy with choices & mine was really good. I started with the "yankee cornbread." Comes in a skillet with butter & spicy honey. Ok, there it is - I didn't love the spicy honey. For main course, I got the Carolina trout. Ate every bite of the ample serving. I overestimated & ordered an extra side - Mac & cheese. Delicious. Stuffed, I couldn't order dessert but someone ordered a crème brûlée & a bunch of spoons. My spoonful was also delicious. Oh, & Tara took good care of our group of six. Try it.

This is a great spot! We eat here at least once a month, however, we typically take out Vs dining in. It's a great spot for a date, group dinner and/or work event, since they have a private dining room. The service is always great whenever we dine in or pick up. I usually order the Cesar Salad and sweets and spicy chicken and my wife loves the Cobb salad with fried chicken. The fried chicken is so good! It's probably the best in town since Champys kinda went downhill after Covid. They have a full bar in the back of the restaurant with TV's, which is a bit more casual, and it's also where you pick up the take out orders. I recommend this place a lot.

Our first time visiting Chattanooga and Public house. Must say service and food have not disappointed. Our server Andy was exceptional and knowledgeable. Her recommendations went a long way with our choices. All were hits imo. Quality and freshness was top notch. Restaurant was pet friendly as we brought our puppy. I personally enjoyed my steak and fries and my wife loved her quail. I highly recommend this restaurant and also ask for Andy.

Saturday early evening, few minutes after 5 and crowds started to come. We were lucky to find a street parking (pay by phone) right outside the restaurant, but there's ample parking in the building and the restaurant provided parking ticket validation. We ordered the flounder special and the grilled pork tenderloin. Both are delicious. The place is nicely decorated and it has ample seating outdoor (covered porch) as well.

First restaurant we visited in town. Our server gave great suggestions on wine and food. The service was great and the food was delicious. Would definitely come back! The ambiance was perfect.

Met with a good friend who actually works in the same building as this nice restaurant. Connor was our server, and he helped tremendously in making our experience memorable. In terms of the dishes, a bit of a mixed bag. The trout appeared a bit dry, the cabbage was presented as spicy but was quite mild and the beets were nice. the chicken livers were great though, same for the house salad. Oh yes, and desserts! Jack Daniels cake was OK but the carrot cake was amazing. Both were HUGE so the coffee I kept on refill was more than welcome. Two glasses of neat sambuca to complete our experience. 10/10 on service, 7/10 on food and 8/10 on the ambiance.

Stopped by Public House in Chattanooga for lunch and tried the Mahi lunch special, and it was very good and such a reasonable price! The fish was perfectly cooked, fresh, and full of flavor. The portions were just right, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Definitely a great spot for a nice lunch in the city -- I'll be back to try more of their specials! There's a parking garage in the area and they will validate it for you!

Fried chicken and Mac and cheese.

We started with the fried pickes and pimento cheese, we not totally sure how it was all coming out but it was delightful. The fried pickles were lightly battered and had the right amount of sour and the pimento spread was full of flavored and tasted great on the slightly chard bread. Then we had the fried chicken with Mac and cheese and the cheeae burger with fries. Again we were not disappointed. The Mac and cheese was so creamy and left me wanting more and the chicken was full of flavor and had a great crispy skin. The burger was cooked exactly how I wanted and the shoestring fries were incredible. We will definitely go back. An our server was fantastic, he knew exactly what he would recommend and was super friendly and knowledgeable.

Great food, very flavorful. The service was fantastic as well, very friendly and helpful. The old fashioned is fantastic. It's a quaint restaurant with a cool vibe. A great date night or business meal spot.

Last night we were starving, and ready to eat! This was the second restaurant we tried to go to at 7pm on a Friday and they were able to get us seated immediately. Thankfully, we ordered fried pickles as an appetizer and they were brought to us within a few minutes. We also got cranberry lime mules, along with the pot roast and Cobb salad. Everything was sooo good! Our salad was supposed to have boiled eggs on it but didn't, but that was the only thing wrong! I loved the ranch - best restaurant ranch I have ever had. The inside has a nice vibe and they dimmed the lights, which I like for a dinner atmosphere. Service was quick, and the girls at the hostess stand were so nice.

Ooo-WEE!! This place is legit!!! My friend and I snagged a same-day reservation and came inside to beat the heat. Every single person we encountered from the hostess, to our server (Ian?), to the manager (who checked on us multiple times!), was awesome. The food, though, was what really stole the show! We started with biscuits and fried okra. The okra was full pieces of crispy okra with a spectacular remoulade sauce. Umm!! So good!! The biscuits were good and plentiful--they came with homemade jellies, butter, and prosciutto--I'm not crazy about prosciutto, but I enjoyed the mountain of biscuits and there were so many that I got three meals out of them!! For our entrees we got the Cobb salad and the fried chicken with Mac and cheese--both were EXCELLENT, and again, enough for several meals. The flavor, though, was fantastic! Especially the mac and the fried chicken--elevated, but accessible. Delicious!!

Chicken with pretty good Mac and cheese.

Service was awesome. I ordered the fried chicken. It was cooked perfectly, juicy, it just needed more pizazz in the crust. I thought it was boring. The Mac and cheese was a bit too runny and needed more cheese than cream or butter. But I finished it. It was pretty good. The wife enjoyed the great steak and wedge salad. It was tender and cooked to perfection.

Looks the part of an old style bar with well-worn wooden bar. Bartenders were friendly & attentive. Sadly, as an individual customer, that was not my experience on a Thursday night. I arrived a little before 7pm and I was warmly greeted by Drew. I told her I was excited to dine here, specifically in the bar, based on reviewers comments. Her friendliness and positive attitude assured me I made the right decision. However, the bar area was not as inviting or welcoming as the evening progressed. My bartender was cordial and asked if I wanted a cocktail. I asked if this place makes a good Cosmopolitan. He said "Do you like it tart or sweet?" (Never been asked that before, but I appreciated the question.) I said "tart" and he made me the BEST Cosmopolitan I've had in a while! It was served half in a glass and the rest in a small decanter surrounded in a glass of ice. Great presentation and even better drink! Just a touch of pink and nice and strong. 5 star start! Then, it went downhill. I ordered the Wedge Salad ($9) and the Seared Scallops ($18), both under the "Starters, Small Plates" section. Both were very good, with excellent presentation. I should have realized the "Small Plates" would only provide a few scallops (3), but they were very well prepared and quite good. After I ordered and the food was provided, little customer service was given thereafter. I had to ask for water refills twice. (When I finally asked for my check, I got a refill without asking.) During this time, only one other customer was in the bar. The two bartenders were talking to another employee about a streaming finale one recently watched. Eventually, the second bartender came onto my side and I asked if I could order one more item from him since my bartender never came back. (The first bartender was Josh, which I discovered when I got the bill receipt.) The other bartender took my order for the Pot Roast Nachos (as I still somewhat hungry) and the Nachos were absolutely fantastic, just like the reviews recommended. At 8pm, I left as I was the only patron left in the bar (I wonder why?) and they were cleaning up even though closing was still an hour away. The bill for two cocktails and the food mentioned above came to $77. Then, $13 was added for Tennessee state/county tax and also liquor/wine tax!!! Was my meal and service worth $100, not really. As I left, I saw the personable Drew and she asked me how the evening went. I explained and she apologized that it did not meet my expectations. I said I just think I came on an off night. However, maybe she should tell management that if only one customer is left at the bar, you should treat them with the attention and respect as anyone who came in earlier. I don't feel I received the service I deserved for the price I paid so sadly, I can only provide a review based on this one time experience.

People left upstairs and went back down due to the lack of service. Again, not our guys fault. Seems they may be a little short staffed today. Half moon cheese sticks were cooked very good. Not overly done and the cheese was stringy to perfection. I love wings. Bone in or not, but preferably bone in. These were cooked well and seasoned perfectly! My wife had the tenders and sidewinder fries. Both were really good. I tried both as well. Breeding on the tenders was crunchy but not overly cooked. Sidewinder fries are a definite must try. They are like steak fries but curly. Just the right blend of potato and crunch. Also tried some local brewery beer. It was called Odd story golden ale. Fresh with no bitter bite to it. Not hoppy but clean finish. A pleasant surprise. I added photos of everything we tried today! Fairly reasonable in price, friendly service, great food and the decor is older and almost rustic which I enjoy. If you like that kind of "dive bar" feel with great service this is the place to go. Marcus, for a new general manager and new to town you are a rockstar sir! Best of luck to you! Dude was also our waiter which is pretty awesome. If you have time to swing downtown, check out the Pickle Barrel Restaurant. You will not be disappointed. If it wasn't for the slower service e, strictly due to being a bit overwhelmed with all the tables our waiter had; this place could have easily been a 5 star. If I could give a 4.5 I definitely would have. Thanks for a great late afternoon meal! We enjoyed it!

Wonderful cocktail list with well balanced, well made cocktails. I loved my old fashioned and others enjoyed their drinks too. Very nice, attentive service from the servers although they brought out the oysters without telling us what was what and service was at times bumpy. The interior is nice, with it feeling casual but somewhere you could bring a date. And we enjoyed the lobster cakes which were well done, nice sauce, without overwhelming the sweetness of the lobster itself. So that was positive. Where it failed: the tuna bites on regular and not crispy rice was hard to eat. It was good but a little unruly. The halibut piccatta was VERY dry, almost bordering on inedible. Their special, which was a bento box was not great. The flavors didn't go together and their sushi eggroll had cream cheese which is very gross. Their steak frites was fine if not that memorable. All in all, I would come back for their drinks and their oysters but not sure I would come back for a full meal here.

Watching the chefs work their magic while enjoying Oyster Happy Hour was dinner and a show all in one. I sampled seven oysters from seven different regions, and my favorite raw oyster was the Cold Creek from Washington. It was clean, briny, and perfectly balanced. As much as I enjoyed the raw oysters, the true star of the evening was the Hearth Roasted Oyster. Buttery, silky, and kissed with just a hint of citrus, they were absolutely unforgettable. The Smoked Grouper Rillette was a pleasant surprise. Rich and smoky, it was elevated by bread-and-butter pickles that added a Southern touch and cut through the richness beautifully. The saltines were classic, but the twice-baked crackers brought an extra layer of crunch that I loved. The King Salmon Crudo was incredibly refreshing. The salmon had a delicate sweetness that paired perfectly with the fresh vegetables, while the serrano peppers added just enough heat to keep every bite interesting. Even the vegetables impressed me. The baby carrots were perfectly tender, and the chimichurri's bright acidity balanced the creamy richness of the toum. For my entrée, I ordered the Gramigna, which was fantastic. The sauce was packed with flavorful andouille sausage from a local butcher and finished with delicious Tomme de Lafayette cheese. Comfort food with a refined touch. To top it all off, the team surprised me with a strawberry gelato for my birthday, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The entire staff had amazing energy and worked together like a well-oiled machine. Sitting at the oyster bar gave me a front-row seat to the action, and my hands cramped just thinking about how many oysters they shucked throughout the evening. The aromas coming from the kitchen were intoxicating. The atmosphere was bright and welcoming, with large windows overlooking the covered patio. At one point, I even spotted a horse-drawn carriage taking a couple on a romantic ride outside, which felt like something out of a movie. The upbeat soundtrack kept the vibe lively, and the extensive bar menu offered plenty of creative cocktails and mocktails. A special thank you to Chef Ben, who took great care of me and even poured my aguachile tableside so I could capture it for a video. Chef Emery and Chef Skylar were also fantastic.
