Excellent food and amazing services. First visit to Bea's restaurant and I see why it's been around since 1950. Tasty traditional southern comfort food hit the spot for Sunday family dinner. The inside is a nod to yesterday's nostalgia. The inside is homely, welcoming and nothing pretentious. The food is served family style on a lazy susan in the center of the tables. Refills are by request. Sunday dinner included fried chicken (breast only), ham, pulled pork, pinto beans, cabbage, collard greens, slaw, beets, corn bread, rolls, potatoes, tea, water and dessert if the day which was strawberry or peach pie. The service was excellent. The food was good. There is ample parking out front and it's great for a family dinner. Big plus is this place is locally owned and not a big chain. Definitely worth a visit

If you are in the Chattanooga area and Judy can't decide what you want for dinner... Just book it to Bea and let them set you up! $21pp and you get a crazy selection of hot and cold dishes, fresh and pickled veggies, fried chicken, fried fish, pulled BBQ pork, corn bread, biscuits and whatever dessert is on the menu for the day. And then you get to ask for additional servings of the sides and mains you want more of! I don't think the decor has been changed must since they opened 50 years ago but that's ok because it's still all clean and comfortable. The staff is phenomenal and so friendly and the owners came by each table asking if all was well too. No frills, just great stick to your gut, home style Southern cooking! Seriously cannot wait to go back!

This place was a great surprise! The service was prompt, friendly, attentive, and make the experience memorable. The food was great. We had chicken, ribs, collard greens, corn, potatoes, cornbread, rolls, and likely some other things I forgot. The Apple cobbler dessert was great! This meal was a flat fee when you enter and the food just kept coming. The food is placed on a table that spins so you can bring the food right around in front of you. Look forward to visiting again.

Southern excellence, very tasty and abundant. Peach and apple cobbler with cookies completely satisfied my appetite.

I really was hoping that Bea's was going to be as good as the person who recommended it to me!! Unfortunately it was not. The food was not very good. It's the kind of place where they bring out little dishes to the table, like a buffet without getting up. The greens were super salty. The potato salad was too sweet. The coleslaw was bland. The catfish and chicken were just okay, nothing special. And the peach cobbler was disgusting. However, the pasta salad was delicious and the rolls were light and fluffy. The service was excellent, fast and friendly. The restaurant was built in the 1950's and I doubt anything has changed since. Large tables with a lazy Susan in the middle. Old pictures from the 50's on the walls. I really wish it would have been better, but I just can't recommend it.

The beets were fresh and the goat cheese carried so much flavor. For the desserts, we got the carrot cake with pecans and chocolate cheesecake. Both were soooo good. I would get both of them again, especially the carrot cake which was so warm and moist. And the candied pecans were such a nice complement to the cake - not too sweet at all. You drill down into the ingredients, where products are sourced, OLR buys local, buys premium, buys fresh, and it all shows in the product they put out onto the table. We were back today for Father's Day, and of course we arrived early as no reservations are accepted. Not a problem, happy to do it, we wanted to be part of that first seating when OMR opened at 11:00a. I would have been happy with ANY ITEM on the days menu, and I went with the Strip Steak and eggs, but got to sample the other selections at the table as well. Two gotcha moments today above and beyond the meal itself, the fresh fig with peach and bacon served when we first sat down.....and for the first time, I had coffee while dining here, it was absolutely delicious. Folks, I recognize it is a turn-off for some when you can't make a reservation, but my recommendation is to look beyond that, you have to enjoy a meal here at OMR, you'll be glad you did!

We got to choose our table and had friendly service the whole time. Note that although the service is pretty good, the food coming out was a little slow. We got the 3 chicken tender basket, catfish basket, the smoked buffalo wings, and banana pudding. The buffalo wings were the highlight. Great smokiness coming through the wings. Just a little bit of heat from the buffalo sauce. Highly recommend. Everything else was pretty good. The chicken was tender, and good crisp to the outside, and good seasoning. The catfish was pretty good too although they were pretty thin so didn't get quite as much of the crunch to tenderness contrast that I like in a catfish. Also, their tartar sauce is too sweet. I prefer more tang on the sauce. I think the sauces run sweet as I thought the champy sauce was a little too sweet over mustard-y. Good fries with great texture and seasoning. I also got the green bean sides which were a little soft but great, depth of flavor as it was clearly cooked with pork. The potato salad was good if not memorable. The kids loved the banana pudding. A little too much of the cream and not enough pudding but otherwise worth getting. All in all a strong chicken spot to visit while in Chattanooga.

We visited during a snowy day in Chattanooga, which normally would have meant sitting on the patio. The patio is heated and dog-friendly, but with the weather being particularly unpleasant, the staff graciously allowed me to join my humans indoors as long as I stayed in my carrier. From the moment we arrived, everyone was incredibly welcoming. Several servers stopped by to say hello, compliment me on my excellent restaurant manners, and generally make me feel like an honored guest. The food was excellent, and my humans enjoyed their meal while I was treated to a side of chicken that disappeared surprisingly fast. The service was attentive, friendly, and genuinely warm throughout our visit. The restaurant itself has a comfortable atmosphere with plenty of character. One of my favorite features was the giant cow mural, which provided excellent entertainment while I waited for my chicken to arrive. I spent several minutes making sure none of the cows planned to leave the wall. What stood out most was how accommodating the staff was. They didn't just tolerate a dog--they made us feel welcome. Dogba's verdict: Great food, wonderful service, heated patio seating, emergency snow-day hospitality, and cows that thankfully stayed inside the paint.

It was also a beautiful day so we sat on the patio. I love that they work with local organizations for fresh vegetables and meat! Our waiter was very nice and fairly attentive. But the food... For the good - the crab cake was delicious. It was like all crab meat with no filler and was very tasty. The pimento cheese was also SO yummy. You could tell it was made fresh and had a great flavor. The pita it came with was fine, a little over-grilled. I was not crazy about the fried okra. I wish the pieces weren't just cut in half, because to me they had that slimy okra texture inside. My gf said they weren't THAT bad, but I really had to push myself to eat them. The rosemary fries have a great flavor and were crispy (I prefer thicker fries but my gf enjoyed these). I LOVE mac and cheese and was super excited to try theirs. It was very creamy and had a good flavor but there was way too much cheese for the amount of noodles. Like the ratio was pretty off. Now for THE issue. My gf ordered the Filet Mignon, medium. It came raw and without the blue cheese compound butter. By the time the waiter came to check on us, I was half done eating. He took the steak to be put back on the grill and brought it back with a bowl of crumbled blue cheese. It was still raw inside. He brought us extra fries, but by the time it came back I was done eating. She asked for it to go and it was STILL RAW. She had cut it, so it was super obvious if you looked. The manager came and talked to us and they took it off the bill, but for a $40 filet mignon it should not take 3 tries to cook it right and it still not really be right. She said there are cold spots on the grill and they're training a new line cook, but it was not a good look... I'd maybe give more of a pass if they were packed, but there was no one eating inside and maybe two other tables of folks outside.
