Really fantastic, local, Country Cookin' restaurant! This is my first visit and I had one of the daily specials, which was chicken casserole. Wow, what a delicious comfort meal! I knew it was good before we pulled into the parking lot- the lot was full at 9am on a Wednesday... yes! Just a little restaurant, looks family owned and operated? Good- simple, inexpensive breakfast. I ordered the 2 egg breakfast with gravy and biscuit- and it turned out to be biscuits (plural)! I added a single pancake- full plate size! Robert ordered the western omelet with gravy (your options are gravy or grits) and biscuit(s) & John got a tenderloin biscuit and a side of tots. John was the smart one. One of my biscuits was donated to the hubs. And both boys helped eat the other half of my leftover pancake. I was stuffed! The biscuits were delicious and so filling! Robert used to make biscuits at Metro Diner back home and said these were "better than mine"- lol. This little gem is 4 minutes from where we are staying and I am seriously considering returning in the morning!!! Great portions and really great prices! Add in that family feel and sweet service~ this was a wonderful way to start our day! read more

I'm sorry, it was aweful, walked in no one greeted me, I had to ask if I had to seat myself and I was sitting there and then I had to ask if I get my own menu, table's dirty, not sure who my server was, seemed like no one wanted to serve me! Cheeseburger was gross and French fries were soggy, had to ask for ketchup, every other table had ketchup, sweet tea was 3/4 full, I wish Gordon Ramsey could hook you guys up because you could have potential and represent Georgia! read more

SOULLL FOOD! Not spectacular by any means, but this place sells on its name-Old South. THE RIGHT PLACE This place is a "what more could you ask for?" type. After spending a day at an office in unfamiliar territory, I asked where I should go for a meat and three. An enthusiastic consensus was drawn that I should go to Old South. I pulled into the restaurant and noticed all of the old timers sitting at "the bar". I knew I had chosen the right place. WATCHING FAMILIES After walking in I was instructed to seat myself so I tucked away in a corner unobservable by most of the other patrons. Granted, it took the wait staff a second to find me, but it was no issue nonetheless. I ordered a coffee and watched families interact the whole time. If you can't tell thus far, atmosphere is half of the battle for me. There's nothing like finding yourself at a spot where the local grandparents tend to take their grandkids for an afternoon meal. IT DELIVERED The food was exactly what I had hoped for. Meatloaf, collards, pintos, and cole slaw. There isn't much to say about the food except that it delivered. As one would expect, this meal is like the one you'd get from the similar restaurant in your hometown. SUMMARY This place is a great restaurant in the same way that President James K. Polk is considered the most productive to ever take residence in the oval office. Polk was an unassuming and reliable candidate who won on the promise of fulfilling the then goals of his party. Most of the people that visited seemed to be coming here for years. The owner or manager came out at some point to greet the guests. It was such a nice experience. The ladies that work there were very nice and attentive. I got eggs, hash browns (very crispy), biscuits (probably the best I've ever had) and a hot cake. Food came out quickly and warm. Prices are really cheap too. They have daily specials each day with typically a meat and 2 or three sides for under $7-$8.
