Chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and mac and cheese
    Rachel W.

Great service from Kamron and a good dinner! The chicken fried chicken and pulled pork were really tasty but the sides didn't blow us away. We had mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, okra, and sweet potato fries. It's a neat, cozy little place and the breakfast menu looked like it had some unique dishes worth checking out!

Came here to have lunch with my siblings and all of our kids and it was delicious. I mixed up how many people were coming and the guy at the front was really flexible where he got a table for us and was willing to pivot when I realized it would be too small. The shrimp and grits was amazing. Our first server seemed a bit overwhelmed with our table and so they gave us a different server who was awesome. He fixed anything that had been messed up (sprite having water poured into it during refills) and was fun to talk to. It has a very cute homey feel inside and the food was great.

The food was just ok, looking at yelp I wanted to try the ribs but they are only served on Saturday only. The service was great and the live band was good also.

Amazing atmosphere, services and more importantly delicious food. Highly recommend the nacho brisket. A surcharge for the brisket versus the pull pork but it's worth it. I wasn't a fan of the side salsa but it didn't take away from the appetizer as it was on the side. Had the Nashville Cheesesteak but brisket and it did not disappoint. Next time will have to try the hot one but that means another trip The kids had the Southern Fried Chicken and Piggy Mac and they loved it. The Southern Fried Chicken was a big platter, so be ready to eat The place has a great family environment and the entertainment was setting up as we were eating so those left behind likely to have more fun. Can't wait for the next visit.

Decided on Pucketts for dinner on our last night in Chattanooga. We ordered a chicken salad sandwich with sweet tater fries, a fried baloney sandwich and fries, and our friends split a pork nacho plate. Two mixed drinks, water, and a coffee rounded the beverages. We didn't wait very long, and our waitress was friendly and attentive. We listened to a good guitar trio (Josh Driver Trio) while we dined too. I believe we're adding Puckett's to our Chattanooga dining stops! The prices aren't too bad either though the mixed drinks aren't cheap. Oh yeah, we split a chocolate cobbler and ice cream for dessert, while our friends split a fried brownie with candied bacon, ice cream and chocolate sauce. Yeah, they were as good as you are thinking.

Great breakfast spot. We stopped by on our way to a day visit to Chattanooga and found this place. There is a parking lot beside the building, but you have to pay. We didn't know check for free parking. It wasn't crowded when we arrived. Service was done with a smile! Biscuits were light and fluffy. Bacon was cooked crispy. Coffee was good. French toast with peanut butter cream cheese, bananas, and whipped cream was delicious- well balanced. Individually, the peanut butter could easily have been overwhelming, but with the whipped cream, bananas, and French toast... it was the perfect play on a breakfast pb and banana sandwich!

Smoked Brisket Hash with scrambled eggs

I came in on a quiet Saturday morning and was greeted with warm smiles and a clean restaurant. I was seated immediately and the server was like a tornado handling the patrons with quickness and care. I had my best breakfast I've ever had here. #1. No question. Who knew smoked brisket was excellent for breakfast? Puckett's does. The smoked brisket hash was perfect. This is a must have when you're in Chattanooga. Come here now!

This was our fourth visit to Puckett's and all of our previous visits were great. This visit, however, was bad. We ordered the "whole farm" to split amongst me and two kids. The sausage and BBQ pork were great, the brisket was a mix of lukewarm juicy pieces and tough (for brisket) chunks, the turkey was so dry and over cooked that you couldn't cut it with a knife, and the half chicken was so dry that I had to chug water to get it down. I asked for more turkey (my son and I's favorite) and after 20+ minutes they brought out a piece that was even more over cooked. The waitress didn't seem to notice the issue and we never saw a manager until we got the check and asked to speak to him. He heard how our experience was, saw all the food left on the table, and did absolutely nothing about it. I don't know if it was the time of day (we got there at 7:45) or what, but this experience was DEFINITELY not worth the $50+ for one adult and two kids.

I've never been to a Puckett's Restaurant, so I thought I'd give it a try. I was surprised that it was similar to another home style type restaurant, but this seemed better. It was cozy, the service was good and the bologna sandwich was amazing. What I didn't like was having to fight with the mayo packet. The sweet server noticed my struggle and brought a ramekin without asking :) That's what made her so good at her job. This was a nice experience and I'm glad to have tried it here.

Service was awful. We were seated immediately (they were half empty) but it took forever for someone to even greet us and take our drink order. Once we actually got waitress she was fine but the food took forever to come out which was surprising given how dead they were. Fried green tomatoes- 10/10. Crispy, thick, hot and perfect with the sauce and pickled red onion. Piggy Mac - 7/10. Served in a skillet. Was tasty but wouldn't order again. Corn cake - like a pancake made of cornmeal. Order these! Sweet and spicy. So good.

After reviewing Yelp for places that had some southern comfort foods, we decided on Puckett's Restaurant. Having been to downtown Chattanooga several times, I find the having to park and pay everywhere a negative experience (not exclusive to Puckett's, but for us it's always a turn off to frequent a business). We've never been downtown when it was full or busy and why is the city trying to keep people away?! Puckett's was not busy the Sunday afternoon we came by, maybe 15 customers. The staff obviously was bored and hanging out talking. Took a few minutes before we were seating by a pole by the kitchen, we asked to move to a window table as it wasn't busy and we enjoy people watching. This request was met with, "well if you must pick something you like better!," now if you know me I don't do well with sarcasm, lazy, or rude. I come from Germany, my family owns and runs a Guesthouse/Restaurant and we'd serve 200 people during lunch happily with 3 kitchen staff, 4 family members helping wherever, and 2-3 waitresses/waiters. Everyone left well fed, with good service or my Opa would let us hear about it and the customer became his friend making sure he was happy! So back to the waitress, yes she was not up to par. Being there for the first time, we were not familiar with the menu and instead of recommending some items (a good waitress would), she left. We waited, and waited a good 15 minutes before being asked what we'd like to drink. At this point I was searching other restaurants nearby, but my friend has more grace and patience so we stayed. We ordered our meals after I ordered the iced tea special, Puckett's Signature Fruit Tea Blackberry-citrus Southern sweet iced tea. I thought it was very good and recommend it. I finished my first Mason Jar in a few minutes, being parched from hiking around my favorite Rock City Garden and some of the trails nearby (if you haven't been...go, it's Devine). Unfortunately, I didn't see a second refill for 20 minutes when our food arrived-Piggy Mac: Cherry wood-smoked pulled pork in an iron skillet, topped with white cheddar mac n' cheese and biscuit crumbs 15.99. It looked good, but both our meals were cold and neither of us mess with cold pork, I really don't like any hot food that is cold. There's a reason it's supposed to be hot food. We tried for another 10 minutes to get a waitress attention without having to yell or cause a scene, waitress busy at the bar and kitchen talking. Finally, we caught another waitress attention when she came to check on the table next to us. I don't like to eat food that has to be returned, people do crazy things out of unprofessional behavior. My friend tasted hers after it was returned (after 10 minutes) and it was still barely warm! Mine was lukewarm. What happened in the kitchen? . Were they to busy chatting, throwing a fit because they served cold food? We had someone come to the table, didn't identify themselves and told us the food was reheated. Normally, a manager would ask, "is it to your liking, is it warm enough?" Nope. I couldn't eat my food because it was not a warm delicious comfort food, but a lukewarm premade mess. The serving was small, and my friend who ate hers lukewarm ate another meal with me at a much better restaurant (now I must also state, she's skinny, tiny and doesn't eat a lot of food at a sitting, for her to leave hungry says a lot). The restaurant was clean, our silverware (we had to ask for mine), my fork was dirty. Happens with commercial dishwashers and staff not checking or caring. I must say the southern hospitality and comfort food experience was lacking today. Perhaps it was too slow and staff decided wasn't worth any effort on tourists, but I tip generous for service when I am treated like a customer. Not getting refills, cold food, no service follow through and sarcasm as I'm interrupting your day gives you zero tip and advice to get out of the service industry. As for the restaurant, you need to do better if you want to keep open, eventually tourists stop coming. Might give this place a second chance as it had good reviews and maybe the Sunday we went was an off day, I sure hope so.

The food was good, but the major drawback is that a large plate only had four ribs, one of which you could barely call a rib. The second, drawback for me is that the ribs came with sauce already on them. That's like a major no-no in my book. I know, everybody has their preference, but I prefer to sauce my own food if I feel that it's necessary. To be honest, barbecue should stand on its own without sauce and sauce should only be there to enhance the flavor. The meat was tender, but I couldn't really get a feel for the flavor of the meat because the sauce interfered with that. The pulled pork plate was good. Also, my girlfriend said she enjoyed that. But again, sauce should come on the side in my opinion. I have no real complaint against this place, but I wish I had known ahead of time that the ribs came with sauce on them and I wish that I had known that there were only four ribs on the plate, I would've ordered a whole rack. Prices are good, the place is clean, and as I said, the owners are very welcoming and warm people. Give this place a go, it's worth a trip! But just ask questions before you order!

Customer service and atmosphere are still solid, and the presentation of the food was great! Everything looked delicious when it arrived. This time, I decided to try something different and ordered the smoked wings platter with white BBQ sauce, baked beans, and potato salad. Jalapeño Cornbread was added to each meal. Unfortunately, the smoked wings were a letdown. They had a fatty underdone texture that was unappealing. It was almost as if a step was missed in the cooking process. They were just too soft for my liking. Also, I'm not a fan of Jalapeño Cornbread. I prefer my Cornbread without the jalapeños, but I ate most it anyway. For some reason, the Jalapeño Cornbread had a dish soap taste to it. It was weird. On the positive side, the baked beans were flavorful with a nice kick, and the potato salad was just as good as I remembered. Is Edley's still our go-to BBQ spot? Absolutely!
