Our 1st and last visit to this place. Just don't get there before the real servers come in...5ish. We went in about 3:20 today after missing our Odyssey IMAX date at 2:15 due to unforeseen circumstances. We stood at the entrance and about 3 or so minutes the daughter greeted and placed us at a table. Then a sulky looking dark haired guy comes to our table and asks about water/ drinks. He acts as if being a server is beneath him and is the worst server/ service I have ever had. I tried to tell him it was my birthday, shrugged me off. I asked for a candle to be lit, it was at our table. He took the candle away and didn't come back until we were ready for our tab and for boxes. The atmosphere was..... no one was there. Oh, the owners. Daughter and Mom. Need to put someone else out there that can be a people person. Or come close. Now, to the food. Mediocre at best. We ordered several tapas and he brought them out as soon as they were ready. The endives were limp salad scoopers with old lettuce leaves, but we were hungry and ate that. Then the shrimp, not for me. Still had the intestine line intact. My husband ordered the chicken tacos and pimento cheese skillet. The bread with the pimento cheese was soaked in butter to the point of being in edible. We originally had reservations for Calliope for later, since we missed the film decided to go here. Totally underwhelming. I know it's tapas but the quantity was barely enough for one person for 3 people we bought 8 tapas and we were so hungry when we were done. A wonderful meal. We were warmly greeted, shown to our cozy corner booth, and provided attentive, respectful service, and absolutely delicious food. We began with watermelon salad, which was beautifully balanced with sweet, tart, and salty notes. The patatas bravas were a bit salty for my taste, but still enjoyable. Roasted carrots were sublime: honey ricotta paired beautifully with herb tahini. I don't know why I've been eating carrots any other way. Duck tostadas included pickled onions and tomatoes- lovely. The chargrilled octopus was tender and flavorful. We managed to find room for the chocolate budino, a luscious pudding topped with whipped cream. The ambiance was relaxed elegance, with beautiful lighting, furniture, and glassware. When music was playing, it set a comforting tone and still allowed conversation. I've been to Amada a few times now. Let's start with the service. Our waiter was extremely nice and accommodating. He lowered the lighting for us and even got the manufacturer and name of their table chairs because I loved them! The ambiance is nice, especially with the lights lowered. The seating was comfortable but stylish. I think this is the perfect spot to grab a few tapas before hopping to another place or maybe a nightcap and dessert. The pricing is a bit excessive in my opinion. The deviled eggs and potatas bravas were tasty but not worth $8 each. Same goes for the street corn priced at $10. Definitely one of my new favorites. Came on Mothers' Day so they were busy but the service was impeccable. The whole group worked as a team. Food was great. This is a wonderful new addition to Southside dining! The interior is beautiful and the service was amazing. We started with chicken croquettes - they were creamy and good, wish they had a tad more sauce with them though to offer more flavor. The seared salmon was excellent, cooked perfect and tasted very fresh. Classic Patatas bravas always a crowd pleaser. My husband really enjoyed the octopus, he said is was expertly seasoned. First time eating at Amadas for a birthday dinner, we were not disappointed. The host staff were very courteous, and I'm pretty sure the owner came and spoke to us and said how grateful she was that we'd chosen to celebrate there. The food is excellent, especially the eggplant and potatas, and it's easy to share with others. The general ambiance and vibe felt welcoming, and the bits of decor added so much to the space. I went here over the weekend with some girlfriends for my birthday. We ordered most of the tapas offered and shared among the table. Note that the plates are primarily prepared with 4 servings. There were 6 of us, so this was an issue with the dishes everyone wanted to try. Overall, it was good. I was disappointed with the temperature of some of the food - definitely could have been hotter. Also the steak was ordered medium and came out well done. We also expected there to be some daily specials, but they no longer have daily specials. The churros were one of the best items we tried. All in all, the ambiance was nice but the food didn't impress me enough to come back. read more

We were super excited when we saw there was a new tapas bar in Chattanooga! The restaurant was super cute and cozy inside and the staff was incredibly friendly! We ordered a ton of food of course and overall everything was really good other than the scallops. They smelled and tasted fishy but other than that everything was really delicious! Just dive in and get a couple plates and enjoy! The yellow fin was the most exciting but quiet surprisingly the egg plant really blew me away! I've never had better egg plant. We've been to Amada several times before- however tonight was different. The food wasn't as good as usual. The shrimp seemed old because the texture was weird. The deviled eggs were flavorless. The chicken croquettes were mushy- not sure if there was chicken in them. The BlackBerry Bloom cocktail and Estrellas were good though. . Here's the kicker- we asked if they had any hot sauce. They said they had a house hot sauce. I don't know what kind of sauce it was but it was not hot AT ALL. Even better, they charged us $3.00 for a tiny cup of it. (We needed it to make the food better.) We miss Terra Nostra!!! Amada could use some cooking lessons from them. I wish this review was better. The service was fine and friendly. read more

We were welcomed to the stylish setting and multicolored glassware at a table selected especially for us since our two guys are well over 6 ft. The fried deviled eggs were a unique twist on an old favorite. We shared grilled octopus and grilled shrimp which were flavorful but not too spicy as well as mussels. We rounded out the meal with snap peas and cubed potatoes each with unique preparation. The guys raved about the carrot cake but I was a little disappointed in the chocolate offering.
