Cheyenne was a wonderful server! The seafood pasta was delicious, and came out at a reasonable time. We got apple pie for dessert and that was great paired with some vanilla ice cream (they even heated the apple pie for us upon request). Michayla was very nice and accommodating as well! Went to Alimentari as apart of a large group with Chatt Taste. This was our second to last stop. We received a warm welcome from the chef, who prepared a sampling menu of pork belly, tofu belly (is that how it's called??), an array of pickled veggies, and bao buns. It was all very delicious. I was staying at the hotel next-door and wanted something nearby because of the weather. I saw the menu and the reviews and figured I would try this place just to grab a quick bite. I ordered a Caesar salad, which had zero taste and a margarita pizza well done that came out with pesto and balsamic and really didn't seem like had that on the menu. This is a great spot inside the Westin lobby ans is very convenient. I sprang for the Duckst dinner time, and it was truly delicious. In the morning I had "build your own" omelet with potatoes and it was fluffy and really great quality. I was very impressed. read more

I would usually go outside a hotel for dinner but I was tired from meetings all day and decided to give the hotel restaurant a try. It was a good choice. I had the butter bourbon drink (a hot drink), a kale salad, and Primavera pasta. Let's start with the drink. The restaurant is across from the bar, so the full bar menu is available. It was cold so I opted for a hot drink. It was really good with a slight kick. The kale salad was excellent, and I ate every bite. The pasta had really good flavor but a tad salty, but not overbearing, just personal taste. It wasn't crowded on a Thuraday night, and I was seated and served quickly. Had the egg salad sandwich on toasted sourdough, chicken Caeser side salad and a scoop of pimento cheese (to go). The service was good and fast, very nice server at the counter. The Caeser salad was, as they are, iceberg lettuce and chicken; the chicken was *pretty* bland, but the dressing and some pepper made things just fine...it was also quite large for a side salad. The sandwich was also slightly bland, but the egg salad had a hint of dill, which was nice. To be honest, us Americans can use a little less salt in our diets, so I begrudge them nothing for not over-seasoning their food. The pimento is also tasty. While nothing here was exceptional, it was fresh, relatively healthy, and tasty - nothing that a little salt can't help. While I would like to say I really enjoyed this establishment, my expectations where definitely not met. The wait staff was wonderful, but the food was subpar at best. Now I do understand that the time we are living in is a challenge. But, if you are going to charge "fine" dining prices, the taste presentation, and execution could be much better. The Charcuterie Board was okay, but the meat and cheese on the plate seemed very similar to the same soppressata and prosciutto you can by at any mega mart for much less for a larger portion. The entrees were good, minus the lack of salt on the pork, lack of flavor on the ring mold lasagna, and overcooked rigatoni pasta. The desserts we had, tasted like they came from a freezer and were not made in house. While I appreciate the wonderful staff as they were very pleasant, the food could definitely use some TLC. My wife and I were having difficulty finding someplace to get dinner. We went to Alimentari Cucina, and had one of the best meals in a very long time. The Alimentari Cucina is located in the Westin hotel in Chattanooga, TN and has a classy look. The staff, Superstars Becca and Joshua, were really impressive. They were friendly, knowledgeable and worked diligently to make sure we got everything we ordered. I had the Frutti Di Mare, which is pasta with mussels, shrimp, and scallops. My wife got the Linguine Verande, with leeks, capers and a creamy sauce. Both dishes were FANTASTIC! Everything was cooked to perfection and had wonderful flavors. My Frutti Di Mare, was spicy, but so delicious. My wife's food had a bit of sweetness to it from the cream sauce. SUPER GOOD! Our dessert, Raspberry Cheesecake, was a very decadent and tasty. All the while our server made sure we had our drinks refilled. A truly GREAT experience and I can't wait to come back. If you're ever in Chattanooga, TN, give, this place a try. read more

My review has to focus on the service we received, and didn't receive. The food was decent and would have earned a better rating, but they truly messed up the easy part. We were seated and 20-25 minutes went by with no one coming to the table. I finally waved someone down, who had walked by our table a good 10 times with not so much as a hello. He said he would come back. He did and finally gave us waters and took our order. Another 30 minutes went by with no one coming to the table, nothing. Finally our food gets here, still not our waiter. Never refilled our drinks, never came back until we were done eating. Gave us our check and that was that. The positives: our servers were welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. The Food: in previous photos and reviews we noticed bread and butter were offered, it was not on this visit. Salads are entrée size so we asked to split a Caesar. Lettuce was fresh and crisp, dressing lacked seasoning.. It was also brought out on a single plate. The waiter needed to fetch another plate from the kitchen and we divided it ourselves at the table. For the entrée my husband ordered the ribeye which was perfectly cooked. I ordered the scallops and shrimp in saffron cream sauce. Both the scallops and shrimp were cooked to perfection. The only thing lacking was the flavor of saffron. It's very distinct and I detected none in the sauce. I'm not sure if they have dessert as none was offered nor listed on the menu. Saturday morning in downtown Chattanooga can be a little sleepy. We are so glad we found this place. The sidewalk board outside advertised some lunch specials so we decided to give it a try. Austin our server was awesome, part time server, part-time artist was everything you would for and more. Knowledgeable, witty, efficient, personable, and friendly. We each started with the white bean soup which was out of this world. Complex, but not over done. We ordered the Mergharita pizza. The crust was done to perfection and the flavors again balanced nicely and not over or underdone. The gnocchi was also spot on and delicious. We were three for three. Italian is so yesterday and new cuisines have elbowed their way to the table. (Think that latest Thai/Cuban/Chinese/Ethiopian/ Tex-Mex by Southwest/Navajo fusion restaurant you just heard about) It seems Italian's time has come and gone leaving many places only a step above Olive Garden, or trying so hard, they mess us the basics. We found neither here. The food was interesting and great tasting. The fact they had a lunch special didn't hurt either. Located in the Westin Hotel, Alimentary has an amazing ambiance. Soft live music sets the tone from the street. As you walk in, the first thing that catches your eye is the place is absolutely beautiful. Indoor and outdoor dining is very romantic. The patio dining area at night is absolutely beautiful with the lights and fountains. The food did not disappoint either. I had the Shrimp pasta dish and both shrimp and pasta were cooked to perfection! Pasta is made in house and it was nothing short of amazing! We also had the charcuterie board as an appetizer and I highly recommend it. Crackers, cheese, three types of pickles, one being okra, prosciutto, salami, pepperoni and a whole grain mustard was the perfect start to the meal. I would have given this restaurant a solid 5 stars but the service fell a little short. The first two thirds of the meal it was spot on. Manager was working the floor checking on everyone and managing his staff like a pro. The team work among the manager and servers was terrific. They were like ninja servers! One was clearing appetizer plates and one was setting food down while the other was filling drinks. Arms and feet were flying everywhere! Then last third...ghosts. There wasn't anyone to be found. I don't know if there was a gas leak in the kitchen causing everyone to run out back leaving us to fend for ourselves, or if Justin Bieber was in the lobby and everyone left to get an autograph, but there was no one on the floor at all for a pretty good period of time. I didn't ever think we were going to get our check. Thankfully there was a birthday party going on at the table beside us and our waiter brought out cake and ice cream for the birthday boy and we snagged him. Then all was right with the world. The food was so good and the staff was so amazing up until the end, so I am going to cut them some slack. We will definitely be dinning here again! Parking is easy. There is parking on the street and pay lots close by. Walking Chestnut Street after dark is beautiful. If you want a romantic evening with that special someone, you are going to love this part of town at night! read more

Tried this place yesterday I ordered the pappardelle ragu and a fragola side salad. The ragu is awesome and savory. It has the pappardelle, vegetables and beef. The fragola salad is a spinach salad with strawberries and nut crusted goat cheese balls. I'm not sure of what kind of salad dressing it was , but it was perfect. My husband ordered the risotto al funghi and a side Caesar salad. It was very good. Cooked perfectly. The only thing is , he ordered it as a entree which wasn't enough for him . Next time he will add a protein. The salad was perfect as well . Not heavily dressed with the salad dressing and it had good flavor. They also gave us 3 kinds of bread with butter, tasty. Overall everyone was very nice, lovely atmosphere. We sat outside and it's a really nice area. We have been trying to try this place for a while and they did not disappoint. We found ourselves in Chattanooga for Christmas at the Westin. Of course, restaurant options are limited on Christmas. We had breakfast and dinner at Alimentari. While I would NOT make a point of eating there, we had a very nice breakfast. My wife had the hash; I had the "Westin breakfast." It was all very well prepared and used good ingredients. The coffee was good. The service was very good (this was Christmas morning). The food is fairly priced. We also had Christmas dinner there. We shared the artichoke fritters, had a pasta, and the cheesecake. The fritters were canned, marinated artichoke quarters, breaded and deep fried with a (I think) basil aoli. Nothing special but tasty. The pasta was overcooked but the sauce was very nice and the portion generous. The cheesecake was the only meh item. It had a grainy texture and slight flowery taste. Again, service was excellent. Thank you to the staff of Alimentari for giving us a very nice breakfast and dinner on Christmas. read more

Our entire experience was amazing. From the time we walked in, we were greeted with the door being opened for us, and with a smile. We were sat immediately, although it wasn't crowded. We went during lunch time and the prices were reasonable, in the 9-15 price range per dish. Appetizers are more on the 8-10 value though. Once seated, we were quickly greeted by our server and poured glasses of water. The server remembered the daily specials and described them to us, and then followed by bringing us some bread. I ordered the Margherita pizza and my husband ordered a pasta dish. The pizza crust was amazing and I loved the flavor, however they used pesto instead of basil so it was different than my typical slice. I enjoyed the flavor nonetheless! The food temperature was perfect and the dishes melted in our mouths. It was one of the best meals we've had in a while. Service was quick from beginning to end, and the atmosphere was simple but elegant. We will definitely be going back sometime soon. read more

This is now a cafe and market serving salads and sandwiches. There is another located in the Westin but today I'm reviewing the sandwich shop. Clean and inviting with a limited selection and good prices. I tried the Turkey and avocado and took it outside to eat. The bread is seven grain and slightly toasted. It has tomatoes and mayo and served with a pickle spear. Sliced Turkey piled high and avocado spread. It's a good sandwich but not a great one. It's like a sandwich I make at home. Outstanding is all I can say for this establishment! Sophistication is the word that best describes the quality of our food. So often throughout the meal, I enjoyed photographing our courses as much as eating them. We always start out with two to three appetizers to get a real feel of a place and also to see the chef's flair. We decided upon the grilled oysters, Caesar salad, bruschetta and an exquisite cheese plate (which was almost too pretty to eat). The portions were not too filling to spoil your entree, but just enough to taste. Upon viewing the menu, I noticed there were almost no vegetarian dishes, so I kindly requested a pasta with a simple pesto sauce. Jay checked with the chef and he stated that this could easily be done. Honestly, it is so refreshing when a diner's request is considered. Within twenty minutes, we had four decadent dishes before us (scallops, Margherita pizza and pasta with beurre blanc sauce). We ended the meal with cappuccino, blueberry panna cotta and a lemon puff pastry. As we sat and took in our sleek and modern surroundings, we noticed a distinguished gentleman, who must have been the owner, visiting certain tables chatting about the aspects of the menu. My Mom and I stopped in for dinner before a show at the Tivoli. We thought we'd try something new so ordered the fried malfatti to start with. That's spinach, goat cheese, lemon zest, and balsamic all rolled into gnocchi size bites. They had an odd flavor. We enjoyed splitting a "Dolce" Pizza though. Got a chance to join friends for dinner at the new Westin Chattanooga location. Great quite atmosphere with live guitar/singer playing some great older laid back sounds. Perfect atmosphere. Enjoyed great appetizers of bruschetta that was the best ever. Our Caesar salads had backed Parmesan chips and was very tasty. Our main courses were all very good followed up by mouth watering tiramisu! The service was fantastic.! Wanting to explore new restaurants downtown, my wife and I decided on Italian. It was a busy Saturday evening and the place was quite full. Always a good sign... The owner greeted us and were seated at the bar. The place is somewhat small with an open casual atmosphere. Nice plate glass windows with outside views to the street and courtyard. The staff at the bar were polite and professional. We ordered a few drinks and started with a calamari appetizer. Service was prompt and they brought out our calamari hot and fresh. It was cooked to perfection and flavorful. Not rubbery as it can be if it's over cooked. For our entrees, my wife had the Dolce pizza and I had the pork sausage pasta. The pizza was awesome! Nice fresh dough, cheesy, and a little sweet. All the flavors blended well together. My pasta was also very good. The meaty sauce was a little on the spicy side but not too bad especially if you like a little kick to your dinner. The best part was the texture to the pasta. Maybe a little doughy but certainly tasted like it was freshly made. Both portions were good size. We were both full and took home half a pizza. On the lookout for a new place and this is in a cool sectioned of strip of road with nice outdoor seating. We didn't have reservations and were able to secure a table outside. Service was pleasant and efficient. We ordered the caprese salad and it was the best we've had. Absolutely delicious, full of flavor, and fresh. We found some of the pickled veggies a bit sour, particularly the celery, but the meat and cheeses were very good and we enjoyed. Honestly my expectations were low since most hotel restaurants are standard at best, but this place surprised me!!!! The mussels are a very unique combination of spicy/sour sweet!! The smell of garlic as we walked by Alimentari was beckoning, and before I knew it we were seated at a window table. The decorations are upscale yet chic, and the restaurant overall has a great ambiance. As for the cuisine--I can only describe it as flavorful, modern Italian. The prosciutto pizza is delicious, as are the pastas. Our server was very kind and answered a barrage of touristy questions with ease. These folks really haven't figured much out about being a restaurant. Not yet, maybe later... Friendly service, start to finish. As another Yelper said: these people are overwhelmed. Truth! They are overwhelmed and way, way, way under skilled. The kitchen couldn't keep up the production of mediocre food. Two stars and a "meh". Every plate that hit our table was, visually, a mess. Not particularly tasty and nothing nice to look at. Mediocre at best. Do not believe the Yelpers who say they were served great Italian cuisine. Not happening at Alimentari, not yet. First time in Chattanooga and this place was right down from the Westin. Reviews looked good and I can't ever say no to fresh pasta! First thoughts: Super clean space. Bright and inviting. Staff is super friendly and attentive. Menu is unique and not overdone. Food: I ordered the carbonara and pappardelle. Both delicious and with that uniquely distinctive bite that you can only obtain from a fresh pasta. I'd say of the two the carbonara would be my recommendation. Perfectly salty and creamy how it should be. The Pappardelle (generally a favorite of mine) was a tad under seasoned. If they could work on the execution on that end I would definitely put this at the forefront. Overall: I would definitely come back. Nice spot and great food. Small and modern inside the service was good. We ordered calamari it was just okay. For my first course I had the gnocchi and it was plain amazing. So good. Came out piping hot with marinara and pesto and pine nuts and it was just so good. I crave it now. For my main course I had the osso bucco. This is a cheap cut of meat and so with the price I was expecting a pretty big shank, it really wasn't. I regretted not ordering the steak. It was middling in flavor. Not the best I've had by far. I would not order it again. The polenta it came on was also just okay. I would return mostly to get the gnocchi again and try something else for my main protein. read more

From the amount of photos uploaded to Yelp, I was a bit surprised at how limited the menu was. But what I did order was delicious. The burrata dish was soooo good and the lobster ravioli was tasty- although, there was about 6 regular sized ravioli on the plate. For the price, it could have used a couple more. The music was vibey and perfect for the atmosphere of the restaurant however, the kitchen staff had competing music and were singing loudly along with it.
