We had an absolute blast visiting this Northshore Chattanooga gem for girls' night out! The interior design of the bar and restaurant areas are wonderful and welcoming. The staff as well are very pleasant. We especially enjoyed sitting at the bar and talking with other visitors. Tyler was the gentleman we dealt with the most while at the bar and he was very knowledgeable about mixology. The drinks he crafted were very nice and we appreciated his creativity--the drinks he made were absolutely delicious! We also ordered a spread of small plates--some were more than expected while others were far under expectation. The lamb meatball and octopus were the only let downs of the night. Most places I have traveled to and had octopus have offered at least a quantity of three (3) for such items for the same price point. Either way, they were still absolutely delicious. Recommendations: * Ask about menu items in regards to quantity, and such, to gain full understanding of the different items. * Make a reservation if you wish to sit inside but not at the main bar. A fantastic experience from start to finish. Our server Misty was the perfect amount of attentive and was knowledgeable about the menu. The gentleman at the door (wish I had his name) was wonderful as well. If he wasn't seating people he was running food and clearing tables. This place runs like a well oiled machine. We went for an early Sunday supper (4:00) to celebrate a birthday. The patio was nice. The food was good, the service was subpar. It took the server 30 minutes to make her way to the table to take our order. Other than taking the order, dropping the meal and check off, we never saw serving staff. No one checked on our beverages and I had to get up and go to the hostess station to get a check delivered to the table. Came here with a large group and had a wonderful meal. They were able to seat us all together even though we didn't have a reservation, luckily we got there early. The group ordered scallops with green sauce, trout in pecan butter, shrimp and biscuit, fish and grits, and pork shoulder. As well as the pear cocktail, and an old fashioned. Every single thing was absolutely superb. I almost don't even know where to start. The plates were small but filling, the ingredients high quality, and everything impeccable. We are not from the area so it was a real treat to have such a delightful interpretations of southern cooking. I usually get desert to go since I am too full to enjoy it directly after the meal. I was afraid the fudge pie would be sickly sweet, but two hours later it was perfect. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

Outstanding all around. Attentive service, great food, and incredible ambience. There was 8 in our party and our server did a top notch job. The appetizers were special to say the least: tender scallops, smoked wings that were top 2 or 3 I've ever had, and deviled eggs that everyone raved about. I had the trout in brown butter and blistered green beans and was succulent and flavorful. Zero complaints from the other meals as well. Amazing!!! From the time we walked through the doors till the server running us down in the parking lot to give me my phone I left on the table. We were late. We had reservations on a Saturday night and we didn't take in consideration it was prom weekend as well and Frazier was packed, so parking was a challenge. We walked in and they had no issue with us being a few minutes late and was seated right away. We ordered the Mexican street corn side as an appetizer. It came out and honestly I was a lil disappointed because it was the size of the corn on the cob nibblers you get in the frozen section. We bit into them and the flavor just exploded in our mouths! We were stumped when we tried to guess the mixture of the slather that was on Them. They were topped with crushed hot Funyuns. I got the hanger steak with papas. It was amazing! If I could give a 4.5 I would, this was very close to 5 territory. The inside is very nice and polished - perhaps not the most special, but very inviting. Ate at the bar, of course, and our bartender was very friendly. Sports on two TVs, which i usually don't care for - but not obtrusive..brass and glass - nice overall. I gotta say the two gin/violette drinks I had were amazing. Two other things of note, the lamb meatballs were probably best I've had - no idea what they put in those things, so tender and delicious. We had a bunch of appetizers for our meal, including deviled eggs, octopus, caper tapenade, beets with corn nuts (!), and trout fritters. All were good, none of them were life-changing--except the beets! Fantastic. I'd have given 5 stars, but we were seated on the patio, which didn't have the great vibe of the inside. Also, it was winter and, although comfortable, the hot/cold was kind of iffy. I wouldn't normally blame the restaurant for being full and having to seat people on the patio, but I felt like the layout inside left a LOT of unused space. Upon just arriving in Chattanooga from out of town, our first stop was to walk the river and see the pedestrian bridge and Coolidge Park before it got dark. Frazier is nearby, so we popped in there to eat and were seated right away. They have a very nice patio outside, especially since the weather was nice and comfortable temperatures outside. We started with the sour cream n onion deviled eggs and the grilled bread to start. For entrees, I had the nola style shrimp, and he had the trout. Everything was delicious! So good! We were walking along the river and happened upon this place on Sunday around noon and liked the vibe when we walked in from the back. We found the hostess and were quickly seated. Our server Jaclyn was excellent! She explained the menu how many of the items are home made there. Breads and many of the meats. We ordered a mimosa and a fear and loathing. The fear and loathing is one of those delicious and dangerous cocktails. I could have had 2 more and then needed a wheelbarrow to get home! Brunch for us was a BLT and hash browns. My bride said the hash browns were excellent. My BLT with home made bread was superb. Usually with home made bread it can often fall apart and it didn't with this sandwich. I cannot honestly remember eating at a better restaurant. The food, the service, the atmosphere and the prices were beyond words, spectacular. The tomato pie was a memory on a plate. Everything we ordered was perfectly balanced and not one thing needed anything added. The lamb shank was huge. Every plate got practically licked clean. The waitress was also very knowledgeable and so proud of the food(I wish I would have got her name). It's beautiful inside too. The prices are so low I don't know how they are making money. Had a lovely meal over a holiday weekend at FF&D. I've followed this restaurant on Instagram for a long time and finally got to try it out. We sat at the chefs bar, they also have tables and booths, indoor and outdoor patio seating, and a bar upfront which was a bit rowdy (in a good way - seemed very laid back with football on). I love the overall vibe - upscale hipster-ish without being snobby or inaccessible. Great menu of southern classics with a twist. We started with deviled eggs and grilled bread with caper tapenade which was outstanding. The eggs could use a little flavor (or salt?). I ordered the grouper with grits and it was a work of art plus super yummy with that crispy skin. Hubs ordered the trout which he said was great. We had roasted carrots and collard greens on the side which was perhaps unnecessary but also really good. For cocktails I had a mezcal tequila cocktail - called Fear and Loathing maybe? - and it was very smoky but delicious. Not my normal order but recommended by the server. We topped off our already full bellies with bread pudding and the chef sent over complimentary champagne. The entire meal cost less than $100 and it was such a nice experience. I definitely plan to go back and bring the family, even my "meat and potatoes " father in law will be comfortable here with the menu. Parking is a bit tough but we parked a few blocks off and walked over. Lovely neighborhood restaurant - they really got it right with the blend of traditional and modern southern. read more

I moved here recently from Nashville and this place is on par with high end restaurants and craft cocktail bars in Nashville, even better than some really nice New York restaurants I've been to. My wife and I ate there yesterday afternoon before the dinner crowd. We have eaten her several times before, so we knew their food was great. This time we had their deviled egg appetizer. This was one of the very best recipes that I have ever tried! I also had their deviled egg roasted leg of lamb. It was possibly the best I've had anywhere. The lamb was surrounded with creamy polenta and covering the bottom of the dish was an awesome pan dripping sauce that was savort and scrumptious.
