Fork is a go to for me! Great restaurant. Clean inside and clean ingredients! Food always tastes good and fresh. Servers are always on top of it and friendly. Gluten free here so went with "The B.C.S" (Boise Chopped Salad). Salmon on salad had a great taste and finished the whole salad. My friend got the Fried Chicken & Ballard Cheddar Waffle 'Sliders as she had gotten before and loved! Super delicious orange honey butter. I like that fork using local products you don't find places like that everywhere. Prices are decent too. Prime rib 5/5- Saturday special. Served medium rare. 14 oz. Great serving size. Would order again. Better than house of prime rib in Sf in my opinion. Bam Sammy 3/5- overrated. Didn't enjoy the flavors too much. Greasy. Burger 2/5 - burger was over cooked, and didn't taste too special. Warm butter cake 4/5. - not the best butter cake I've had. However it paired well with the cream , but the berry sauce added a bit of tanginess to it. Served warm. I would recommend the BCS and prime rib. As I drove aimlessly looking for a place to park, to stretch my legs and contemplate what delectable cuisine I was going to partake in, I came across this super cute street of goodies in Downtown Boise. As quickly as my tired body would allow me to move, I made my way to an attractive block of options, albeit some closed, yet, options for another day. In my immediate future, I saw outdoor eating and the most inviting words in culinary "farm-to-table". My feeling of joy could not be explained nor contained. I simply walked (but was skipping in my head like I was 7 years old again) to the wait staff and with a smile said "table for 1, outside please". This ambiance...I was so for it!! I scanned the menu and immediately was attracted to all of the deliciousness that would soon be gliding across my taste buds. The Urban Burger topped with some brightly colored, crunchy veggies, a sauce compositioned by a world renowned classical orchestra and fries that need no introduction, Rosemary-Parmesan Idaho (of course) Fries. I'm sure, that when you take your first bite,  you, too, will be singing a tune of pure delight. Enjoy! I certainly did. Came with the family for Christmas Eve. It had been about a year since my last visit and found the menu refresh along with improved service to be very high marks. I was hoping to get into the quieter dining room, however; I believe it was booked by a private event. The main dining area with the bar was still very loud, however; we got to sit in the corner and the noise was a bit more moderate. I was so disappointed in the food. The website had some great photography but the food did not live up to the photos. I had the blackened tuna sandwich which lacked flavor, had a lot of bread to meat ratio and was really a cold sandwich since it tasted like the tuna came out of the fridge. We had the tomato basil fondue but the grilled cheese part was hard and crusty. The cheese had been baked and left out and the whole dish was unpleasant to eat. Also, there was so much oil in the soup, it floated on top. A friend had ordered the trout and said it was good but it was not cooked completely. For dessert we had the apple cobbler and the butter cake. The cobbler was overloaded with nuts and was set in a cake crispy and not a cobbler topping. Another disappointment. The butter cake did live up to the hype so I will give them that. The service was fine but not exemplary. They did a good job of clearing the plates and bringing soda and water refills. They neither added or took away from the overall experience. All in all, I wouldn't recommend going to Fork. read more

We came in for lunch yesterday after wanting to try this place for a while. First of all - KAT!! We would come back just to see her again! She was so sweet, attentive, hilarious and made sure we had everything we needed the whole time. She was just wonderful all around. The food was delicious- they're not kidding about those asparagus fries!! They're SO good. I had the salmon sammy and my husband had the Bam Sammy and both were *chefs kiss* - we sat outside because it was a beautiful day - outdoor seating is comfortable and fun because you can people watch. The food was good yet not anything to write home about (I had the filet au poivre with shrimp which is their most expensive dish). Hostess was snooty. I sat at the bar, and although the bartended serving me was super nice, the other bartender was dropping incessant F-bombs and other foul language throughout the course of my time there which made my dining experience not so enjoyable. The couple sitting next to me said that they had already spoken to a manager about that bartender's behavior, and evidently, nothing was done about it. read more

We were invited back to try Fork again after a disappointing visit last year, and were pleasantly surprised! This time we brought our preschooler for brunch on Father's Day. I started with the cold brew with vanilla bar cream, which was delicious and not too sweet. The French Toast Sticks were uniquely crispy and caramel-y -- we all agreed that this was some of the best French toast we've ever had. My husband enjoyed the Huevos Rancheros Stack despite it being pretty soupy, and the Chef's Benny was fantastic. I was confused when the benedict arrived with salmon rather than the ham that was listed in the menu description, but it was a delightful mix-up because I prefer salmon. Service was polite, and when we were first brought the wrong order, the error was rectified immediately. The place was packed but food and drinks came quickly. After a cold and soggy afternoon in Boise that had me feeling like a wet sock, I stumbled into Fork, a cozy beacon of warmth with more charm than a rom-com leading man. I was greeted by a server whose smile was brighter than my future and whose attentiveness to my wine glass was nothing short of heroic. I ordered the Tomato Basil Fondue & Grilled Cheese, because why just go for comfort food when you can dive headfirst into a pool of cheesy bliss? The dish arrived looking like it should be on the cover of "Gourmet Magazine's Comfort Food Edition." Was a recommendation from someone I do business with while in town for a convention and oh em gee, I was not disappointed. I love a farm to fork restaurant and always try to eat at places local to where I'm visiting, Fork did not disappoint. I ordered the Idaho Rainbow Trout over farro and it's was melt in my mouth delicious. Perfect portion, the farro was perfectly cooked and flavorful. I had the fork lemonade, which I was hesitant on getting because I'm not typically a vodka fan, this lemonade was fabulous! It was muddled with 4 types of berries and I couldn't taste the vodka at all, I slurped that lemonade down with ease and happily ordered another. Dessert was the signature butter cake and holy guacamole this is a MUST HAVE!! Save room for dessert!! Such a cool place. First of all the building is amazing but the restaurant itself is also so beautifully decorated. We ordered the brussels sprouts as an appetizer, and I ordered the rainbow beet salad for lunch with a side of grilled chicken. Let me start with the brussels sprouts. Those were some of the yummiest sprouts I have ever had. They were super tender, sweet was spicy and so filling. The rainbow beet salad was so delicious! I ordered the dressing on the side but honestly, the dressing was so yummy that I ended up using all of it up. It's definitely a salad I'll be thinking about on my way back home. Another special thing about the salad was the way they grilled the chicken. The chicken was not dry, it was so tender and it pulled apart easily. I didn't really have to even use a knife. This was good dining on the streets of downtown Boise! Literally, look at those pictures, we were in the middle of it all with our outdoor booth! Came on a Friday evening and enjoyed people watching on the streets, live music from a guitarist across the way, and a little bit of yelling from a homeless man, but hey that's nothing a Californian can't handle. The menu had a nice variety, plenty of appetizers, sandwiches and burgers, and different meat/vegetarian/fish options for the entrées. I ended up going with the special of the evening which was salmon served with a lemon caper cream sauce orzo. This was the first time I've ever been asked how I would like my fish cooked, I went with medium well and it was absolutely perfect for my liking, very flakey and moist. Our server was also fantastic! She was honest about letting us know which items were and weren't necessarily her favorites, she helped us make informed choices so we ended up happy with what we ordered. Would love to come back here when I'm craving a sandwich because some of them sounded really good, and the fries were delicious! Really liked the look and feel of the restaurant from the outside since it was an old bank in a very cool building. The architecture and the old school fork sign created a cool vibe. I think the best thing I can say about this place is the Ambiance. It was beautiful outside just as it was in. I think the service could definitely use some work. Our server was a bit standoffish and the person that brought our food was about the same. Ryan our server got worse and more rude as the evening progressed. Both not very happy to be where they are. The worst part was the food, The rainbow trout I had was terrible, dry, flavorless. The Farro was nice though, and that orange sauce added a nice touch but definitely needed more on my plate to even make a dent in how sad that trout was. The 16 dollar asparagus wasn't too bad either, apart from how small the portion was for the price. The potato chips that came with the sandwich were terrible; how do you mess up a potato chip? lastly, the prime rib sandwich. This was actually decent, better, mediocre. Anyways overall the service and food could definitely use some work. I don't think the prices justify the meal whatsoever. read more
