So when the Polaris Cheeburger Cheeburger closed my wife and I were saddened. It was the perfect place to go for a better-than-fast-food hamburger. They also made amazing double chocolate milk shakes, the fries were good, it was always clean, just a fun place for us to go for a quick bite away from the kids. We always left with leftovers, the remainder of a milk shake to enjoy on the ride home. Man we miss that place. So when we heard about everyone raving about Five Guys we were super excited to find a place to finally replace Cheeburger Cheeburger. Wow, what a disappointment. First off, the prices are higher than the food quality warrants. Then there is the service. I remember going up to order my hamburger, said I wanted it cooked medium and he looked back at me like I was speaking a foreign language. "We cook them all the same," he said. I pointed to the blackened piles of what looked like severely over-cooked hamburger and said. "I don't want my burnt." "We cook them all the same," he said again, with the same lack of enthusiasm. I looked at my wife and we both kind of shrugged and thought... maybe it tastes better than it looks. We go to find a table and almost every table is dirty. I look back to the kitchen area and there are 9 people in the kitchen area... 4 people are actively cooking and preparing food and the other 5 people are... talking, smiling, joking among themselves. Plenty of chit chat going on... but no table cleaning. Sure, allow me to pay for my food and clean my own table. But, you know... the food has to be amazing because of all these reviews.. right. Nope. Our burgers arrive and they taste just the way they look... like burnt, over-cooked hamburger that has severely shriveled from using probably a 60/40 fat content hamburger. My hamburger is so dry that I literally can't keep enough toppings on the bun to create a bite that is not desert sand dry. Maybe the fries are good. My wife loves fries even more than me. I watch her pick up a fry and it's limp and bends in her fingers. Cremated, low-quality hamburger, limp and soggy fries and more than $20 spent for my wife and I. Awesome. I don't think we have ever thrown away that much food before. I am not really sure why there are amazing reviews of this place. It's as over-rated as is humanly possible. My theory is that there are places around town that seem to become trendy and cool... and it seems like Five guys is one of those places. So people aren't really paying attention to the food they just enjoy showing how cool and trendy they are by going to the cool and trendy places. Avoid this place, there are many better and cheaper options out there. read more

Maybe it was all the hype surronding 5 guys but 5 guys to me was just OK. After going through the various options of toppings in my head I settled on BBQ Sauce, sautéed onion, sautéed mushrooms & lettuce on a double bacon cheese burger. Now maybe I just didn't pick good toppings for my burger but it tasted just like any other burger I've had at any number of fast food/diners. The fries were very good but once again I've had better fries else where in Columbus and beyond. Five Guys Burgers and Fries and probably my favorite burger place. It has a simple ordering style, alot like restaurants such as Cosi. Five Guys has a simple menu, but it's definitely worth it! Their burgers taste great and their fries are even greater. The fries aren't frozen fries like many other fast food places, but their made from fresh cut potatoes in each restaurant. They also have a great taste! Five Guys have a great choice of toppings for your burgers or hot dogs too. Many toppings to make a great burger. And as for their drinks, they have a good many Coke products. The price is a bit high compared to some other burger places, but it's worth it every time I go there. The Five Guys formula is simple, yet overly effective. They also offer you peanuts to snack on while you wait for your order. Five Guys is a fun, good tasting, family environment for great burgers any day of the week. read more

Five Guys is just the latest in a long line of newer restaurants that prove simpler is better. For me, Five Guys is one of those places where the food tastes so good, I can't cram it into my mouth fast enough, and then later I find myself thinking about the burger I ate and craving another. There's nothing special about it, but it just tastes so much better than the over-engineered "beef" served at most fast-food places. The fries are pretty good, too; again, simple. The serving size is just dumb, though; a large is far too much for even two people. But the burgers are clearly the main attraction here. I would love to say the locally owned Graffiti Burger is better than Five Guys, but I'm afraid I can't. Very similar, but not quite as good. Better burgers can be found at In-n-Out Burger and Elevation Burger, but until I move to one of the coasts, Five Guys will have to suffice (though it doesn't seem like settling). read more

A review of five guys has been a long time waiting. In typical fashion as an individual consumes animal flesh I can assure you that I absolutely love burgers. So naturally I would find myself at a number of places where they are prepared for my amusement and delight. Generally when I arrive I end up ordering the bacon cheese burger and choose to add lettuce, tomato, onion, and the sauteed mushrooms. This has always provided for a delicious combination of ingredients topped upon well prepared cow that leaves me satisfied. The fries are also pretty good, and if you haven't tried the cajun variations of the fries here you are missing out! The location here now has one of those crazy soft drink dispensers that makes me think I'm using some sort of beverage replicator (which is awesome). Anyway, I imagine you've tried this place before, but if you are a burger lover who hasn't, give it a try already. read more

They gave me the wrong order for takeout. Didn't discover it until I got home. Called and spoke to the manager - after a lot of questions - he admitted their mistake said I would receive a gift card in the mail for the full amount of my order. Fair enough. The card came several weeks later. Went to use it today - their register wouldn't recognize it. They just shrugged their shoulders. So I paid out of my pocket. When I got home with the order, my burger was not fixed the way I asked for. The food is OK but way overpriced. Found a local place that's better and cheaper - that's my new place. read more

It's not the burger, it's the fries. Don't get me wrong, these five guys make a good burger (and you get to top it for free), but, honestly, the burger isn't quite as good as Graffiti Burger. However, the fries are to kill for. These fries may eventually be the cause of a divorce, and I may even disown my daughter-- if they continue taking more than their share of the fries. I don't even have a penchant for les pommes frites. But these? These fries are something special. Oh, and the hot dog is good, too. A nice kosher beef dog, split down the middle and grilled to crisp perfection. Worth a bite. So, if you're in the mood for a burger, these five guys will do you good. My favorite restaurant! If you're looking for a cheap dry burger, this isn't the place you go to! Five Guys has a taste of its own. The burgers are always juicy and fresh! On to the fries, they have the best fries around. They give extra fries with any size. They give you a cup with a whole extra scoop. Is it more expensive than most? Yes but the flavor makes up for it! The customer service is amazing! The people there really enjoy their job and it's pretty obvious! Not bad burger. They don't let you get them done at suggested temperature (I like mine medium rare) so this was a big miss for me. This is one of my favorite burger places. You can get all sorts of toppings on top, including two of my favorites -- fresh jalapenos and grilled mushrooms. Their burgers always taste fresh and go very well with fries and Peach-flavored Fanta! I don't see the appeal of this place. Took my wife and daughter and it was almost 50 bucks for fast food. I would even mind that if it was great, the fries were hot but soggy and floppy, my burger actually fell apart and the bun was pathetic and smashed. I don't get it, won't get going back. My wife and I dropped by last night to eat after some time; it's still great, just like the first time I tried it years ago. When you go in to this particular location, right off the bat you notice that it's for dining in. So why not bring a bunch of friends? The food is spectacular. I order a hamburger all-the-way, and it taste great! The fries, the ketchup, everything is great about the place. The staff are good at what they do, kind and they get your order done in a timely manner. I like the posters showing the great reviews this chain of hamburger shops have had; being from Washington D.C. And living in Maryland, Five guys is really popular, so seeing all the headlines, the city names, takes me back to the times I've had back in the east. I have to mention that even the veggie sandwich is good, so this place is vegetarian friendly; I'm not sure about vegan, but vegetarian, definitely. read more

YUM!! These are some GOOD burgers! What makes them stand out??? The toppings! I love all the choices you have for toppings. It also has a fun atmosphere. Some of you may not care about atmosphere, but that is big for me. They have peanuts you can eat while you wait and I like the pop machine. It is one of those that has a million different flavors and options. I am very glad they had two sizes for the burgers. The "little" burger was great for me and my husband got the regular size one. The prices seemed a bit high, only reason for the 4 stars. It was a good meal, just not something we could afford to do everyday, but I tend to be cheap ;) read more

I really don't want to bash this place but I got a double bacon cheeseburger with Kraft single cheese. My wife got the veggie burger and medium fries medium drink $20.49. If you're looking for value you might want to try somewhere else the veggie burger my wife had, it consists of 3 small slices of mushroo.s and 2 slivers of onion I could not believe it and it was almost 4.00 she was furiius we went to steak and shake for her. The burger I had was really good the fries were really salty but I'm not a big fan of a lot of salt anyways the two drink machines they both had Strawberry Fanta which I love so that brought back a lot of memories. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and as far as overall cleanliness the place was a very clean along with the bathrooms. read more

As the Five Guys in Seattle has yet to open, I had to try the Columbus location since I was in town. I love burgers and this place definitely did not disappoint. I got the little burger which was plenty big (get a regular and you'll be looking at double patties) and the large fries which fed the four of us. Yum.... it was fry heaven! A mega large order with the skin still on and oh so hot and fresh, plus they have malt vinegar for those who like to douse their fries in it. The burger was not dry as I heard in prior reviews and I think the bun was some what toasted. I totally love that you can choose whatever toppings you want! Jalapenos, grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, BBQ sauce...... the combinations are endless! Totally awesome for a fast food burger! Will definitely be a regular once it opens in Seattle, WA. read more

I love burgers and am always looking for a great burger place. I'm not particularly fond of those high-priced burger offerings ($15-$30) found in many restaurants and steak houses. I'm partial to made-to-order burgers and fries offered in a "burger joint". I've never tried anything except for the standard 5-Guys burger (comes with 2 patties) and fries. I've learned over time NOT to order the burger with "everything" since it gets a little too messy with the sauce, ketchup, mustard, etc. I've found that custom ordering the burger with just your favorite toppings is far more practical. The fries are exceptional but - be warned - a small order is probably plenty for most people. Loving fries - I ordered a large order on my 1st visit. Fortunately, the cashier warned me that I might want to start off with a small order - that was good advice. I've been at the Polaris Parkway location a number of times and have always found the service to be quick and efficient. One time when my order took a little longer than usual - the server apologized for the wait and threw in an extra handful of fries. Great burgers / exceptional fires and good service. read more

I went the other day and had a bacon cheeseburger. It was freakin delicious. I loved it.

Lunch here with a few people from work -- first time ever in a Five Guys, so I had heard they were the cats meow. Maybe the cat was silent today -- I wasn't all that impressed with the burger. The bun was kinda chewy and mushy -- and the patty was just okay. I didnt have the fries, but my co-workers did and said they were good. The decor is a bit odd -- 50 lb bags of potatoes line the way to the counter where you order. And they really, REALLY like to toot their own horn about how much Zagat loves them. What chapps my hide is that I didn't see a Yelp sticker on their window -- maybe I missed that. Ah well, maybe they'll get one someday. Also, very, VERY important: if you have a Peanut or nut allergy: Stay OUT! they serve peanuts in open containers for you to munch on. I saw warnings on the way out not to take peanuts out, but oddly, didn't see a notice going in. *shrug* -- I don't have those allergies, but if you do, don't bother coming in. *Bonus points: this place was playing Boston, Rush and Blue Oyster Cult when we were there. 3 thumbs up!* read more

Best chain burger in town. I love their fresh jalapeños. Most places will use ones out of a can, but at 5 Guys they are fresh. I don't like the brown bag thing. If I am staying, which I always do, put my food on a tray. I hate trying to fish all of my fries out of the bag. The burgers are small and plain and grey and overpriced. The only possible reason to go to five guys is for the fries which I think are pretty good... especially the cajun fries. But in no way is this place able to compete with a great burger chain like smashburger. Go to smashburger if you want a well prepared, well seasoned, well presented delicious burger. They should just call this place Five Guys Fries since that's the only real reason to go there. read more
