All in all a great experience. I hadn't been to Fishbar in over a decade and was glad to see it was still doing good. We went for my daughters 18th birthday and I reserved off their app from their website. We had quite a lot to munch and try! Started off with: Coconut shrimp was the favorite. Although four pieces for the prices is a little steep and maybe the plating also made it look like there should be at lease one more piece. It came with a great mango, jalapeño salsa. Happy hour oysters, super fresh, clear 6 pretty quickly! Calamari was fried just right. Pretty good. Salmon sashimi was super fresh and yummy. They use soy sauce and ponzu for it and a mix of different toppings. We all like it! Smoked Salmon chowder was a hit. My husband declared it was his new favorite. Salmon plate, we ordered original (they had blackened too), it came a bit seared. So if you don't like that maybe let them know to cook it in more. Shrimp and scallop on skewers. The flavors were great, but I'm convince no one knows how to cook scallops. I would have like an extra shrimp vs the scallops. Also it was included bacon on the stick on wrapped (at less that I can tell), my pieces were all super fatty, so I didt finish those. My baked potatoe and spinach was cooked perfectly. They comped my daughters dessert for her birthday which I really appreciated. Ty! All in all a great experience, we will be back. read more

I dined here tonight (6/30/25) with my friend and I was so disappointed. We were here two years ago and had such an amazing time----the service was impeccable (I believe our servers name was Erica at the time. If she's still there, never let her go because she was amazing) and the food was on point. Five stars all around. We came back tonight because my friend kept talking about how she wanted to go back and man, what a shame. Truth be told, I would have rated it two stars today but the first visit a couple years ago made me bump it up one. The hostess was great and we were seated very quickly as we had a reservation. Our server tonight, John, greeted us promptly and asked us if we wanted to start off with waters. After he brought us waters, we ordered a wine and a cocktail and interestingly, the drinks came out at different times by someone other than our server. No big deal, just an observation. But the issue was it took a while for him to re-approach our table to take our food order. When he did, he did say he would course out our order so we could enjoy our appetizers first and fire the entrees when we were ready which we appreciated. However, it took him a long time for him to come back to ask us if we were ready for our entrees and he was no where to be found. It was a Monday night so not sure if he was super busy doing other things for other tables but it didn't look too busy. On to the food. We ordered half a dozen oysters which were so good and fresh. We also started with Salmon Tempura bites which were the star of the show. It was a beautiful presentation, perfectly balanced and a pretty big portion. I had a bowl of clam chowder while my friend had a cup----we had this last time we were here and knew it was good. I was pleasantly surprised that the bowl was huge compared to the cup so, honestly, we could've just split one. I ended up taking some home some leftover soup. My friend ordered fish tacos because she got it last time and was obsessed so she ordered again this time. She subbed the side it came with with garlic fries for a dollar extra----something the previous waitress suggested. As for me, I unfortunately asked John what he preferred between the Fish Sandwich or the Coconut Crusted Mahi Mahi. John told me he preferred the mahi mahi----I'm sure he did because there is a distinct price difference between the two and I'm sure he wanted to up the check average. I went with his recommendation and I'm so bummed I did. The presentation was pretty but the dish was so terrible----rice was mushy, there was barely any curry despite the curry broth description on the menu, and there was absolutely no flavor. There's bland and then there's this dish. It was so bad, I tried my best to try to eat it and I couldn't even eat a quarter of the dish. Our server didn't come back to check on us and never asked us how are food was. He did come back way later to ask us if we needed boxes to go and my friend asked for a container for my soup and a box for her tacos (they're huge so she was full). I told him I didn't want to take my food home and he seemed unbothered and left to grab the boxes. A busser(?) came by to clear all the empty plates and all that was left was my almost completely uneaten dish. The server came by to give us our check and didn't even ask about the lone dish that was there....uneaten. He just ignored it. I didn't want to cause any issues so we just ended up paying and left after he scurried away hurriedly like he couldn't even be bothered. I was a little annoyed that I paid $34 on a terrible dish that I barely ate. To be fair, I could have talked to the server and I would have if he checked up on us after the food was delivered. I would have sent it back. I ended up just finishing the Salmon Tempura Bites we were eating as an appetizer while everyone just ignored my full plate of food. This kind of service negates the previous amazing experience and makes me not want to come back but----who knows? Maybe my friend can convince me to come back with her one more time so she can get her fish tacos. Maybe one day I'll feel like driving 30+ minutes to eat here again and hope it's better. Who knows? On a side note though, the bathrooms are super clean---like sparkly clean and I loved it. read more

The restaurant was super packed and lively, so I definitely recommend having reservations. I ordered their virgin pina colada and it was the best one I've ever had. So creamy and flavorful, I wish it came in a bigger cup! I also ordered their lobster taco and asked if it could come with garlic fries (instead of rice). Both are delicious. I live nearby and this has been a favorite. Even during the pandemic, I bought toilet paper and watermelon here when the hustle and the struggle was real. We were out of the country for a few months and got out of our routine so had not been back for maybe 9 months. We decided to treat ourselves on our anniversary. We had Chowder, the Taco Special and Clams And Muscles in a garlic broth. The bread they served with the clam/muscle entree was the best part of the eating experience. I found the Broth that the shellfish entree was extremely weak. Being from the East Coast I am used to my shellfish having a more fishy taste. The Clam chowder rated a 3.5 on a scale of 5 and the Tacos were fresh and I would recommend the shrimp over the blackened fish. Always such a fan of the salmon chowder! Been coming here for years for that alone, altho all other fish dishes I've had here were good, too. The coconut shrimp also never disappoint! Convenient paid lot across the street as well as street parking. Sometimes gets really busy on weekends or at dinner time, but this area is real nice to walk around and the blocks are really short, so however far away you park, it's still not that far or difficult. read more

This place is amazing! I went here on a Sunday. Parking was easy to find since it was Sunday, but I believe it's street meter parking. Our waitress was amazing! She answered all our questions and was very accommodating when we wanted to switch something. The food is a 10/10 the coconut shrimp was so good! I highly would recommend it. My friend the oysters were good he liked the sauce on them. The fish and chips were great as well. My friend had the Maine lobster, rice, and Mac & cheese and he enjoyed it. Took a drive to Manhattan Beach for Brunch and went to a restaurant recommended by a family member. I wished I lived closer so I could come more often. The service was superb, the food was devine, the location was perfect. What else can you ask for when dining out? Good food and good service is what is all about! Bookmark this restaurant, especially if you like seafood. As we arrived our table was set and ready for us. It's a casual place where you can see sports on their many TVs. Some tables have an ocean view, the decor and seating was very comfortable with high top tables or leather booths. Our server was Jesse, he made sure we had everything we needed, from appetizers, drinks and entrees. All employees were friendly and helpful from the hostess, bartender, server, food runner and busser. I love trying new places and Fish Bar did not disappoint !! Walking distance to the Beach with a metered parking structure right across the street (a super + if you're familiar with beach cities parking). Sammi was our server and did a fantastic job making suggestions regarding the wine and food. The Manager, Marianna, actually came to the table to make sure everything was ok (she did this for other tables but it's just a nice extra touch that you don't really experience anymore). When dining at Fishbar on April 7, 2026, there was a roach, a brown in color roach was near our seating are and above our food --gross!!! I informed the manager. I told him where the roach had gone and instead of trying to get rid of it, he offered to take money off of the bill. Honestly, the meal should have been free, given that I did not finish t the presence of the roach. So, gross--that my friend and I put the remainder of our food down, or rather, I had ordered something else in place of my mashed potatoes that looked liked mush, and as soon as I saw the roach, I questioned the cleanliness of the place. I will definitely not be returning. The service was also poor. One of the waitresses was fantastic, the other, very abrupt disposition, appeared annoyed most of the time. Not too creamy and clams abundant. I had the scallops on skewer which was ok. The lobster bisque, shrimp scampi were pretty good. The salad, oysters, coconut shrimp and steamed clams were 10 out of 10. They have large screens for watching sports, some booth seats and high top seating. Good acoustics for private conversations. I had the manager ask my fiance and I right as our dinner was going to be served if they can move us to a different seating location to accommodate another party that can sit where we were sitting. We were moved and felt embarrassed. Our 2 females waitress were outstanding, sweet, great and the food was great but the manager was terrible. Made me feel uncomfortable and mind you we were the only Hispanics there at the time. Came here after work for their happy hour and dinner. There is street parking outside that is metered. The restaurant itself is in a great location near the beach and fittingly nautical themed. The server was great and informed us of happy hour before we ordered. We got coconut shrimp and calamari of the HH Menu. The calamari was crispy and cooked well. The coconut shrimp were just okay for me. They were a little sweet and I didn't like the sauce that came with it. For dinner I would recommend the cioppino. It was filled with fish and seafood. The fish was tender and the scallops in it weren't chewy. The soup itself was rich and flavorful. The perfect cold day entree!! My partner ordered the seared ahi burger which wasn't as impressive. The burger itself was lacking in flavor and I felt as though it needed more crunch/texture. The fries it came with were excellent though! The service was amazing and restaurant itself is very cute. This place started out pretty good. Despite not having any trout on the menu, which is how I judge any seafood or seafood grill, the entree I did have was done to greatness. It was a little light on the actual shrimp and scallops, but what was there definitely satisfied. No, the real star of the show was the Salted Caramel'wich, which was an amazing take on an ice cream sandwich. It made my taste buds soar to new sugary and creamy delight. It was massive for a dessert, which was the way I liked it. It really was heaven on a plate. My only complaint was the server laying it in the middle of the table despite my letting him now that this was my dessert twice. It was the same with bringing multiple spoons for the party. WTF, dude? Not only is a shared dessert a stupid choice, but he directly ignored my telling him that this should have been served directly to me. That's why I can't give good marks on the service. I try not to be a complainer, but when a waiter ignores the words out of my mouth and laughs at them as if I'm making a joke, that's a sign of either inattentiveness or callousness. Both qualities I do not want in my experience when eating. Trying to give my dessert away pretty much soured any good spirits for this place and that, along with the small entree portions, makes my wary of coming back--despite the bombass dessert they have waiting there. read more

This place is a classic and staple for Manhattan Beach area. The fish and chips and salmon and chips were pretty good. I had not eaten all day, so I was excited that they had lots of options. Our server, Isabella, was very ice to offer options since we were first timers. The ambiance is a cross between a sports bar and upscale dining. I would bring family back to visit this place. Good seating, some of the booths need an upgrade to the tables so people don't fee squeezed, but still overall a great place for a quick meal. The Margarita Por Favor is excellent. read more

What a truly enjoyable restaurant. Genuine and sincere all around: the food, the service and the ambience. It's a great spot for enjoying yourself at the raw bar of sports bar by yourself, date night, dinner with friends, family dinner (with kids), etc. They have a pretty extensive menu with weekly night special. I contemplated giving them 4 or 5 stars but decided to go with the 5 star rating because they are not pretentious and their food is decent value for good quality seafood. First of all, picked Wednesday evening dinner to check out the snow crab weekly special day (20% off wine bottle). You get a pound of snow crab with 2 sides ($2 to sub in house salads and soups) for $39.99. The crab was great the saw it was naturally prepared, didn't even need the butter. The side options are extensive, especially when you can sub in 3 types of salad and soups. Picked the mashed potato, which was amazing and ceasar salad. We also enjoyed the Happy Hour menu. The oysters and Peruvian scallops were fresh and the coconut shrimp and fried calamari were lightly battered and well-seasoned. Also we had amazing service. Friendly and positive energy from our main server and the staff who bussed our plates were professional and efficient. Definitely coming back to try other things on the extensive menu (sandwiches, grilled seafood plates, sides, soups and salad) and they also do brunch. read more
