Not a good experience at this location. Our server was Jamie (I think that was her name?). She was very nice, but rarely came over and checked on us. Also, all of our food was poor quality. My mom's food was cold, like it had been sitting out waiting to be delivered for a long time. I got a biscuit and gravy, and it was very burnt. The bottom was dark brown, almost black as you can see from my picture. I did not send it back because we had already waited such a long time for our food, I did not want to wait another 30 minutes. I really do enjoy eating here. I don't think I've ever had anything that I didn't like. I don't like maple but the million dollar bacon was pretty phenomenal! The juices they offer are different and taste really good as well! They are great for families, couples or singles. Just be prepared to wait. I came here for a late breakfast a few weeks ago when I was in town visiting. We were seated right away at a table by the windows. I ate here for the first time today after my daughter has been telling me how great the food is. How can breakfast be that great? Today I learned why. I had the chickichanga (pronounced chick-E-chonga) which is of course fun to say. This lovely bit of heaven had whipped eggs with spicy chicken, chorizo, green chilies, Cheddar and Monterey Jack, onions and avocado rolled in a flour tortilla. Topped with Vera Cruz sauce and sour cream. The Vera Cruz sauce was delicious. Next time I'll order more on the side. This came with fresh fruit and seasoned potatoes (which had a bit too much salt for my liking but my daughter had never had them that salty so I'd like to think that was a fluke. I also shared some lemon ricotta pancakes with lemon curd on them for our breakfast dessert. Who doesn't like breakfast with a dessert option? This girl loved it! They were light and delicate and had home made lemon curd piled on top. Fresh strawberries were sprinkled on to make it even more balanced. I will be back, but not soon enough. read more

Eight minutes later no one had come to my table. There was only one other table in the room that had people at it and they were given their check and whoever their server was didn't even notice me. No fuss and just a good concoction of meat, cheese, and the beloved avocado... which God made just for me to eat [and for me to make fun of the dimbulbs who don't like them]. I was really impressed with my visit here. I was expecting Denny's quality food, but I was pleasantly surprised. I had the traditional breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, an English muffin, and hash browns. The eggs could have been better, they were probably the most disappointing part of my meal. They were kinda rubbery as if they had been sitting for a bit. But I'll take rubbery over underdone (like I get most places) any day. I was happy with everything else. VERY surprised that the bacon was 4 pieces instead of 2 like most places! Awesome! It was thick cut too. Yum. My fiance's fruit cup was a joke, but that seems pretty standard. There's no lacking breakfast options in the area, but First Watch is one of my very few main go to places. The food is consistently good, and I can't think of a breakfast item that I didn't enjoy. They promote a lot of fresh ingredients, and it comes through in their food. Portion size to price seem reasonable as well. My usuals are the traditional breakfast or eggs Benedict. Whatever I get, a side of grits is always a staple. They have a lot of healthy options which is nice. Whatever your preference is, you can expect it to be good. You can tell that they put a lot of thought into their menu and recipes. This isn't your typical diner food, far from it. I've only been for lunch twice now, something I need to change. They have plenty of choices, but both times I got the Pesto Chicken Quinoa Power Bowl. I'll have to try some other menu items, but I would easily get it again. Service has been friendly and attentive most of the time, but there have been some misses on a couple visits. Both times were during a really busy time though, so that may have attributed to it. read more

On top of my favorite, Parma Hash, they put on the perfectly cooked over med egg (or any way you prefer) and a side of toast (ask for a biscuit instead). Not a hash fan, there is plenty more deliciousness to choose from. The fruit crepes are so thin and moist wrapped around a perfect berry blend of fresh fruits. The pancakes are thick and fluffy just like grandma makes and the bacon nice and crisp but not burnt. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect from a breakfast joint that specializes in a wide selection of hash. A small town slightly country look. Went here for breakfast on September 12, (2015) they remodeled it since last time I've been there the last time I was there was June 13 of 2014. When we got there me and my mother were seated automatically. My mother got an omelette meal and I got a pancake meal. I was craving pancakes and I didn't want a plain one so I got the blueberry one. But I saw that they had pumpkin spice pancakes last minute and I really wanted them so I was going to ask the guy but he said that he had put the order in. I don't want to give the guy the trouble so I just left it alone. Our meal was delicious we both enjoyed our meal. The pancakes are delicious. My blueberry pancake came with blueberry sauce to pour on top of it. (big pancake enough to share with two people.) our waiter Brandon he was extremely nice and helpful. We left him a good tip. (and good thing we were still there while they were cleaning the table off cause my mom left her phone there by accident good thing he gave to us before we left) wonderful meal. I would go to brunch here everyday if I wouldn't be sad at my bank account due to the continual spending of money on restaurant food....fyi, there's a compliment in there! Either way, the waitstaff is always happy and just a delight and I'm never disappointed with my choice for breakfast. I may sound like a lush, but if this place served bloody mary's or mimosas, I would never go anywhere else for my weekend brunch. Long story short, I left KC for 8 years and now that I'm back, I am so impressed with the way First Watch chose to renovate their locations. The menu here is a bit pricier than Bob Evans, Dennys, Big Biscuit, etc. but the food seems to be higher quality and the atmosphere a tad more pleasant. They claim to have healthier breakfast options, and that may be true, but the food is boring and bland. I ordered the bacon and avocado omelet. There was no avocado and too much bacon. The potatoes were dry and overcooked. The service is usually fast and sometimes friendly. I have eaten here a couple times, and every time it is bad. Plus $20 for two people at breakfast is no go. I enjoyed "the Works" Omelet and so did my friend, Jayne. But really, my review is for restored faith in mankind. On the way to check out and pay my bill, I dropped a $100 bill. Thinking I had inadvertently laid it on the table for a tip, or put it back in my purse somehow, I re-traced my steps back to the table with no luck. As I am about to reach into my purse again, a gentleman working at the restaurant stops; and asks me if I am looking for something. Feeling a little silly, I say, "You're not going to believe this, but yes, a $100 bill." So he hands it to me saying our waitress found it on the floor. By far the worst experience I've had at first watch. Either kids portions are being served today or someone ate half my meal. Not really interested in paying full price for half portions. Consistency is needed. Also they had a curbside pickup option for my location on their website but you get to the restaurant and clearly they don't offer curbside. That would be nice to know so I could have opted for delivery and not had to take my 9 month old inside. read more
