Came here during restaurant week for lunch shortly after they opened. It was decorated very cute for the holidays. We were greeted and seated right away. It came with two courses. The first was a caesar salad which was good. The second course was KC Chiefs steak which was shaved sirloin, peppers and onions, mushrooms, Swiss cheese and white cheddar sauce on a hoagie bun. It was good but a tad bit salty. Also came with fries. They were crunchy and tasty. I was pretty stuffed when I was done but wish I ordered the carrot cake which looked yummy. Check out the happy hour! It's has to be one of the best happy hour menus in town. I loved the burger, it has to be one of the best burgers ive ever had. The tatter tots taste were perfect. They have great sauces on a lot of menu items. Our server was kind and our food didn't take long to get out. Pretty good spot for a drink or a happy hour noshable. You have plenty of options in downtown Old Shawnee, but District Pour House probably has the most robust menu of eats among your choices. We dropped in for a drink and (unfortunately) there was a gathering/party going on at the same time, so it was super loud and with the high ceilings, somewhat noise-overwhelming. But that's not on District, and the service was friendly and attentive, always in a nearby orbit if we needed anything. This visit had me sampling a seasonal cocktail, an espresso old-fashioned, which had a coffee pungency with bourbon sweetness. Excellent execution by our bartender! We also snacked on a fresh order of Parmesan truffle fries, crispy and scorchingly hot, with a fine garlic aioli nestled alongside. Absolute winner of a shareable! Easy place to get into, good strong menu, and friendly service. I've had District's offerings from their days on Wornall and the vibe has carried over to Shawnee. Great experience. Stopped in for lunch with some friends. Waitress was super friendly and patient with all of our orders and questions. Place has a cozy vibe to it that somehow wasn't noisy even though they were busy. Our drinks remained full. My salad was delicious with tons of fresh flavors. Definitely hit a local flavor to Shawnee! We had their Seafood dip- cheddar cheese, crab and lobster served with baguettes and chips. We had to ask for more fresh chops which didn't disappoint with the pairing of the dip! The Chicken sandwich had good flavor but with the chile infused honey it would tasted to well. My husband and I stopped in today to get try out a cocktail and were very pleased! The decor was lovely with all the Christmas decorations that were tasteful and the ambiance was relaxing and enjoyable. We went about 5 pm and were seated immediately. We didn't have any food because we just ate dinner but wanted a cocktail. They have wonderfully tasteful infused liquors and my husband's was a berry basil type of martini and mine was an apricot type of cocktail (cannot remember the names! Oops!) But they were delicious! My girlfriends and I were looking for a local brunch spot. As soon we this spot came up on our search, we knew we had to go check it out. It did not disappoint! We got a few brunch items and all were delicious. The chilaquiles portion is huge! And the egg Benedict with smoked salmon was delicious. Running egg yolk on a warm English muffin. Seriously! So delicious! I wanted something filling and heavy so I got the chicken fried chicken. I agree with other reviewers that the chicken was dried and thin. Yes, the answer to your question is yes! The place hasn't skipped the beat from their move from Waldo. My family enjoyed several cocktails, I recommend the pickle martini. My favorite entrée after sampling everyone's was the meatloaf, but I did like my WFC burger & tots! The biggest compliment I can give is our server. I've come here several times and I enjoy it each time. The ambiance is nice but casual. It has a neighborhood restaurant vibe to it but still upscale decor w lights and nice furniture. They have lots of different drinks items which is a plus. I've had their gumbo, truffle fries, risotto balls (which I love), brussel sprouts, and their burgers. Everything is pretty good and the service has always been fine for me. There were some days of inconsistency, but nothing that would make it negative. Tried out The District Pour House in Shawnee for lunch with the family. We all ended up ordering brunch items. I had the salmon eggs benedict, my wife had the veggie eggs benedict, and our daughter had the chicken and waffles. The portions were just right and food was delicious. Everything was cooked to perfection. I tried a piece of my daughter's chicken and I also thought it was very good. Service was quick and stayed on top of refilling our water glasses. I love how more and more amazing restaurants are opening up in Shawnee and this is not slacker. After an extensive revamp of the building that was, for lack of a better term, underused. I went here last week with my parents. I grew up in Shawnee so it's fun to see so much growth downtown in the last few years. I've been watching this space for a while, especially when I enjoyed District Pour House when it was in Waldo. I'll start by apologizing for not remembering all the dish names. They don't have any pics of the menu or a website yet, so I can't remember the exact names a week later. We started with the risotto balls/arancini. The sauce was SOOOO good - like a romesco aioli. It was perfectly fried and I just loved them. High marks for the app! For the meal, I got the meatloaf, my dad got the fried chicken sandwich, and my mom got a chicken salad (I feel like it was named the sonora or sonoma.. something like that). I thought the meatloaf was tasty but the meal was room temperature, at best, and I thought the mashed potatoes could have used some salt. My dad liked his chicken sandwich well enough, but he wasn't particularly effusive (but that's him). My mom really enjoyed her salad. We ended up getting the lemon dessert. It was good but my parents thought it wasn't made in-house. ::shrug:: It's a cute space though I'm a little dubious about the bench booth that backs up directly to tables. I could see someone's long hair landing in someone's food. And sitting closer to strangers than to my dinner companions is kind of odd. More of a partition would be a good idea. I am happy that there is now a full-service dinner spot in downtown Shawnee. It will likely make a killing with all those bars and no other higher end options on the block, right now. This restaurant is in a GREAT location in downtown Shawnee. My wife and I loved them when we first visited at their old location and have been excited that they're much closer to us now. With the weather as nice as it is now, they have the space open to the outdoors so you have a nice view during your experience. Our server couldn't have been nicer and the service was good. We started with the seafood dip. The consistency was a little more like a chowder than a dip but the flavor was DELICIOUS. We also had some truffle fries that are a must. I had the duck risotto. I enjoyed the flavor of the balsamic with it, but it was missing that wow factor. Had lunch at District Pour House today. Prompt service, good food! Wife had a Championship Cheeseburger on no bun. Cooked perfectly! I had a Cubano Sandwich which was awesome. Both of us had salad on the side and a Bloody Mary. We totally enjoyed our meals and will definitely return! I've always enjoyed the food here, but my last visit was disappointing. The BBQ didn't taste like BBQ, and the food was cold. The salad seemed old, and the chicken tasted like it had been reheated for days. There were six of us, and none of our meals were good. I'm not sure if there's a new cook, but the food was cold, tasted old, and some items were missing from our plates. Even the drinks were off. Dropped in on a Wednesday around 7:15pm. Not busy at all. We were seated way in the back . Our server Izzy was very pleasant and attentive. We placed our orders and the food came out rather quickly. The ham sandwich was very good however the KC Cheesesteak was only mediocre. The meat was very overcooked ( crispy) , very few mushrooms and onions and the white cheddar cheese was flavorless. I keep wanting more. My 3rd incognito visit! So I'm landing on 3 stars. Generally, everything is fine and average. I've tried now about eight or more dishes on the menu. I'm going to say that tonight was the most interesting option and it was the salmon salad. The hummus platter was OK. Everything in my opinion just needs more flavor here and a bit of uniqueness. I did enjoy the grill salmon salad but you have to make sure you mix it up a bit to get the flavors. All the fresh salad toppings and dressing was nice. The hazelnut topping - dry and literally just applies to the top of the salmon so my preference was to simply remove it. I am always completely freezing here so today was no different. But they finally had one of the big windows open, which was nice. I find it odd that the hostesses seem to never want to allow you to sit where you prefer. It never fails. This was our 2nd time at District Pour House - and the food was good! Since we were tasting off of the KC Restaurant Week menu this time, my review is solely for this visit. The evening wasn't too busy - but was picking up as we enjoyed our meal. If I had one thing that kind of fell short for us this time, it was the timing of the courses. We got our appetizer first, cocktails 2nd, and then our entrees arrived before we'd really even had a chance to tuck in to our apps. It seemed like the kitchen was going full-bore in "turn-and-burn" - that is, trying to push food out as quickly as possible. I get that it was probably due to KCRW, but it felt a bit haphazard in execution. They could also have been short-staffed, as so many places have been for the last few years, but it seems that a bit of better timing as dishes came up would have made our visit more enjoyable. We will likely be back, because this location is kind of a happening neighborhood these days, what with 2 of the best cocktail bars in the country and 3 breweries all within walking distance. It does tend to get a bit loud, and has a bit of a sports bar feel, but DPH is a solid restaurant that we will be back to enjoy! read more

Def worth a visit. They have infused vodka and tequila. We had the pineapple margarita with the infused tequila. Our entree was the dinner meatloaf with mashed pots and green beans. My friend wasn't in the mood for anything on the menu so we went w/the servers suggestion. Very odd it's called a pour house but no draft beers only bottles. Downtown Shawnee was in great need of a bar with good food like this and let me tell you District delivered! They layout is great with nice decor for the space. The food was awesome! We got the seafood dip which was so good! We did have to order some extra bread because we wanted to lick the bowl clean. Both of our sandwiches were very tasty. The fries were well seasoned, crunchy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside. Service was great! Excellent experience! We were super excited for a new restaurant within walking distance from our neighborhood. The bartender, Hugh, appeared to be the only bartender running the bar on a Friday night, yet he was quick, helpful, and super friendly. The food was delicious. We had the seafood dip, short rib ravioli, cheesesteak sandwich. Our waiter, Tony, was super personable, professional, and just an overall nice guy giving us a great dinner experience. We were told we'd have a 30 minute wait but we're seated within 15 minutes. This place has only been open for 3-4 weeks, so of course there will be some kinks to workout, but you can count on us to be frequent flyers! read more

A downtown Shawnee must! Both the infused spirit drinks and the food are fantastic at the District Pour House. They've had both a fall and a winter specialty food/drink menu in addition to their regular menu the two times we've been.
