We have visited on several occasions. The staff is always friendly without being overbearing. They are quick to take your order and to check on you. It's a sports bar so it's loud but clean. The food is comparable. read more

We just moved into the immediate area and we LOVED the bar. I'll admit that the bartender wasn't super friendly, but I can live it's that. The food was good and came out much more quickly than I had expected. I got the potato skins, which were lovely, while my husband got the Rueben and onion rings- both of which he enjoyed. We did come at 9 pm, but it be struck us as a very cool, chill place to hang out. Lots of TVS for sporting events.... We really enjoyed our time here. read more

We came for brunch over the weekend, and while the brunch menu may be small, they definitely make up for it in flavor and portion size! I ended up getting the breakfast burrito with their fried potatoes and it was perfect! Their potatoes are some of the best breakfast potatoes I've had at a restaurant, super crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The burrito itself was done very well also, well seasoned and loaded with filling. I also recommend getting their $4 mimosas, they definitely don't skimp on the champagne! All in all, it was a perfect patio brunch - food was great, service was great, and the food came out very quickly! read more

A few years ago I had given The Bar a 3 Star but now I can confidently say it's a 4 star in my book. My friend and I stopped in recently on a snowy day and the place was lively and the service was on point. I forgot they had curly fries which are indeed the most superior fry in the game so, that's a big plus for me. But, what really shone through was the Chicken Caesar Wrap, it was filling and fresh. I've been on the hunt for a standout Chicken Caesar Wrap ever since they really started trending online and this one hit most of the right marks. The grilled chicken wasn't rubbery and the ratio of protein to lettuce was on point. I enjoyed that the creamy tangy caesar dressing wasn't too plentiful, if it's overdone then the wrap becomes soggy. The only thing that would have upped the ante would have been if the tortilla was grilled because it was a tad gummy. Other than that this wrap checked all the boxes. The curly fries on the out hand were near perfection, seasoned just like one of my favorite fast food restaurants and crispy without being oily. The Bar is what its namesake says, it's a neighborhood joint that serves "bar food" nothing stuffy or fancy but, great drinking food...or if you're not drinking your loss...still, the American classics are done right and you shouldn't be disappointed if you order an appetizer, burger or wrap here. read more

Just as great as the other locations. Obsessed w their Bacon Jam Burger. Comes w a side (love that they have healthy & more decadent options,) and is big enough for 2 or to take home some for later. Can get loud- esp on a Saturday during NCAA March Madness. Few tables outside too, which I always love. read more

For a bar, this place is great! Our server was awesome and made recs for us! The burgers were delish and unique but not over the top. The spicy avocado burger actually had a decent spice to it, which was nice to get! The star was that Mac and cheese though! I feel like a lot of places kinda throw in the towel with Mac & cheese and it's not easy to find a really good one in a lot of places (might be a controversial opinion...up for recs if you have em!) but this was soooo good! It was a white cheddar mac and was bursting with flavor! It was good food, quick and yummy! No complaints and we will definitely be back to watch some games! read more

It was extremely busy that night, so needless to say, being a smaller place, was quite loud. The service was prompt even with the crowd. The food was good...typical bar type food, but that is what we ordered...it was very good. I would love to come back again on a not so busy night. read more

Since most of the breweries in the area close at 9 on a week night it was nice to find a place that was open later. The had plenty of TV's to watch the game that was on. Even with 20 or so people in there watching the game it didn't seem load and overly Sportsed. There were a few table that were there not watching the game and they didn't seem to have a problem having a conversation a the table. Finding myself a bit hungry at 10:30 at night it was night to be able to get food that wasn't fast food. I ordered the Sliders per the bartenders suggestion. They were a good side and had good flavor. read more

I came here for a quick bite to eat last night after the chiefs game and to celebrate my birthday with family. Great experience! The young man taking care of us was very charming and we were impressed by the service he provided. I got the mac n cheese with blackened shrimp for my entree. The macaroni was *mwah* chef's kiss, but I felt like the shrimp was a little over seasoned. It wasn't bad, but I kinda wish I'd gotten the chicken. Overall 8/10. Since it was my birthday, we all split an order of the funnel cake fries. Another *mwah* chef's kiss moment. I'm not really a big dessert person and have only had funnel cakes once or twice before, but these were special. They were kind of like skinny, little churros. I loved the flavor and texture. The caramel dipping sauce that it was served with was also really good. 10/10. This is a fun little spot for meeting friend for drinks or a sports game. Menu has a lot of different options. I'd also like to add that the cups they give you are really cool as well! read more

Spur of the moment in the mood for a glass of wine and a veggie plate. 'The Bar' provided the atmosphere and service. Pretty crowded for being after 7:00pm, but received very good attention immediately after seating and did not wait long for the drink/food. Will revisit. read more

This was our first visit to The Bar in Mission on Johnson Drive. We sat outside. The food was just okay - the table had the caesar wrap, potato skins, house salad, nachos and the chicken fried steak. The french fries were the highlight of the meal. Basic bar food. My two complaints that stick with me are (1) how filthy the salt and pepper shakers were - I was disgusted when I picked the salt shaker up to use it; and (2) the clothing the server was wearing - she had on short bike shorts (the fitted yoga type). There are too many other good pubs - not planning on another visit. read more

We walked in and got a drink at the bar since it wasn't clear whether we were supposed to seat ourselves inside or outside. After finding a table outside, we were told we couldn't be served because we had already ordered drinks at the bar. When we asked to speak with a manager, the server refused to get one. The whole experience was completely unprofessional. read more

Cool place. Attentive servers. Lots of good snacks Convenient on Johnson Drive. They have other food here but didn't try that this trip.

This is our favorite restaurant! This place can be packed and you will get your food within 5 minutes or so. Waitresses are the best

Tonight my mother and I decided to go for a burger and a sandwich. She got the Reuben and I got a Bacon Cheese Burger. Starting from the beginning, it was a decent distance from her place so that was what peaked our interest. We were a little worried that it was going to be really busy because we went on a Saturday evening around 630pm. It was not busy, so that was nice when we got there. We sat down and ordered our beverages and an appetizer. We got the pickled chips with ranch. They were one of the best fried pickles I have ever had. Made sure to take a picture and send them to my sister who got me on to fried pickles. Our food arrived shortly and that is where our experience started to go down. My burger didn't taste the best, had a weird taste to it. The Reuben meat was very tough and there was too much 1000 dressing. The Kraut:Meat ratio was good though. The toast wasn't soggy either which is a definite plus! The fries that came with my burger were limp and a little bit of a disappointment. I was not going to take those home. Overall the experience was okay. Our waitress was super nice and it was fun talking with her. May have helped me talk my mother into getting a small tattoo which was fun?! Anyway, if there was a reason to go back, it would probably only be for the fried pickles and maybe the service. So would I recommend it to you, yes and no. Yes, for the fried pickles and yes, for the crap ton of televisions(probably a fun place to watch Hockey). No, for the burgers, tough meat on the Reuben. Remember, you do you. read more

Burgers are great, sweet potato fries are top notch. Love the dipping sauce that comes with the sweet potato fries!!

Late night ambiance, people watching, jukebox singalongs & iced cold beves! I loved this little bar. We're not in this part of KC very often so there are lots of hip joints we love to rock out. We didn't eat a morsel - don't have any advice for that. BUT our group had copious amounts of adult beverages on a holiday weekend. We had speedy service & great conversation! I wonder, do they open the garage doors on a nice weekend? Can't wait to check it out in warmer weather! read more

The Bar has some good happy hour specials in the drink AND food department. I think they had $5 and $6 happy hour food selections. Our waitress was very sweet and friendly. I got the chicken fingers and they were good but I have had better. Now, that being said, I would probably order them again. Their french fries are also to die for! The atmosphere was obviously very bar like (duh). It was very very loud though. The parking lot was also a tight fit towards the back. I have be multiple times and never have had a bad food item.
