A few years ago I had given The Bar a 3 Star but now I can confidently say it's a 4 star in my book. My friend and I stopped in recently on a snowy day and the place was lively and the service was on point. I forgot they had curly fries which are indeed the most superior fry in the game so, that's a big plus for me. But, what really shone through was the Chicken Caesar Wrap, it was filling and fresh. I've been on the hunt for a standout Chicken Caesar Wrap ever since they really started trending online and this one hit most of the right marks. The grilled chicken wasn't rubbery and the ratio of protein to lettuce was on point. I enjoyed that the creamy tangy caesar dressing wasn't too plentiful, if it's overdone then the wrap becomes soggy. The only thing that would have upped the ante would have been if the tortilla was grilled because it was a tad gummy. Other than that this wrap checked all the boxes. The curly fries on the out hand were near perfection, seasoned just like one of my favorite fast food restaurants and crispy without being oily. The Bar is what its namesake says, it's a neighborhood joint that serves "bar food" nothing stuffy or fancy but, great drinking food...or if you're not drinking your loss...still, the American classics are done right and you shouldn't be disappointed if you order an appetizer, burger or wrap here. read more

We came for brunch over the weekend, and while the brunch menu may be small, they definitely make up for it in flavor and portion size! I ended up getting the breakfast burrito with their fried potatoes and it was perfect! Their potatoes are some of the best breakfast potatoes I've had at a restaurant, super crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The burrito itself was done very well also, well seasoned and loaded with filling. I also recommend getting their $4 mimosas, they definitely don't skimp on the champagne! All in all, it was a perfect patio brunch - food was great, service was great, and the food came out very quickly! read more

For a bar, this place is great! Our server was awesome and made recs for us! The burgers were delish and unique but not over the top. The spicy avocado burger actually had a decent spice to it, which was nice to get! The star was that Mac and cheese though! I feel like a lot of places kinda throw in the towel with Mac & cheese and it's not easy to find a really good one in a lot of places (might be a controversial opinion...up for recs if you have em!) but this was soooo good! Since most of the breweries in the area close at 9 on a week night it was nice to find a place that was open later. The had plenty of TV's to watch the game that was on. Even with 20 or so people in there watching the game it didn't seem load and overly Sportsed. There were a few table that were there not watching the game and they didn't seem to have a problem having a conversation a the table. Finding myself a bit hungry at 10:30 at night it was night to be able to get food that wasn't fast food. I ordered the Sliders per the bartenders suggestion. I came here for a quick bite to eat last night after the chiefs game and to celebrate my birthday with family. Great experience! The young man taking care of us was very charming and we were impressed by the service he provided. I got the mac n cheese with blackened shrimp for my entree. The macaroni was *mwah* chef's kiss, but I felt like the shrimp was a little over seasoned. It wasn't bad, but I kinda wish I'd gotten the chicken. Overall 8/10. Since it was my birthday, we all split an order of the funnel cake fries. Another *mwah* chef's kiss moment. I'm not really a big dessert person and have only had funnel cakes once or twice before, but these were special. They were kind of like skinny, little churros. I loved the flavor and texture. The caramel dipping sauce that it was served with was also really good. 10/10. This is a fun little spot for meeting friend for drinks or a sports game. Menu has a lot of different options. This was our first visit to The Bar in Mission on Johnson Drive. We sat outside. The food was just okay - the table had the caesar wrap, potato skins, house salad, nachos and the chicken fried steak. The french fries were the highlight of the meal. Basic bar food. My two complaints that stick with me are (1) how filthy the salt and pepper shakers were - I was disgusted when I picked the salt shaker up to use it; and (2) the clothing the server was wearing - she had on short bike shorts (the fitted yoga type). Tonight my mother and I decided to go for a burger and a sandwich. She got the Reuben and I got a Bacon Cheese Burger. Starting from the beginning, it was a decent distance from her place so that was what peaked our interest. We were a little worried that it was going to be really busy because we went on a Saturday evening around 630pm. It was not busy, so that was nice when we got there. We sat down and ordered our beverages and an appetizer. We got the pickled chips with ranch. They were one of the best fried pickles I have ever had. Made sure to take a picture and send them to my sister who got me on to fried pickles. Our food arrived shortly and that is where our experience started to go down. My burger didn't taste the best, had a weird taste to it. The Reuben meat was very tough and there was too much 1000 dressing. The Kraut:Meat ratio was good though. The toast wasn't soggy either which is a definite plus! The fries that came with my burger were limp and a little bit of a disappointment. I was not going to take those home. Overall the experience was okay. Our waitress was super nice and it was fun talking with her. May have helped me talk my mother into getting a small tattoo which was fun?! Anyway, if there was a reason to go back, it would probably only be for the fried pickles and maybe the service. So would I recommend it to you, yes and no. The Bar has some good happy hour specials in the drink AND food department. I think they had $5 and $6 happy hour food selections. Our waitress was very sweet and friendly. I got the chicken fingers and they were good but I have had better. Now, that being said, I would probably order them again. Their french fries are also to die for! The atmosphere was obviously very bar like (duh). It was very very loud though. The parking lot was also a tight fit towards the back. I have be multiple times and never have had a bad food item. This is a local favorite! In the summers, you'll find their patio Hoppin and in the winters, you bet there's every game you can think of on! The food has always been great. The food and selection is pretty good, but the pricing is too high. I ordered a goat cheese salad, very simple, with chicken breast. The salad came with little chicken, and they charged me a $1.50 for my dressing... making it a $15 lunch size salad.
