This place sucks. Their pizza crust is horrible extra crispy like a cracker. Couldn't really eat the pizza. Wasn't busy the waiters suck.

Normally love this place. Today however from 6pm-7:20 on 4/12... the bartender and staff SUCKED. Bartender kept grabbing her phone and going to the back kitchen area & sitting there chatting with food runner girls. MULTIPLE customers were telling her to not look so excited and or irritated about getting customer drunk and food orders. Food came out cold & under cooked on all 3 of our orders and pizza had to send back to finish cooking. Never seen it as dead as it was especially w/ a Royals game on but after the experience we and other customers had with the staff working, if these are the regular Sunday staff, it makes sense. I love all the other bartenders I have dealt with but will not be back on Sundays. read more

Was @ the Drivers License office the other day and needed to get a quick lunch and kill some time. They're just south of the DL office, so I sauntered over there. Good lunch special, 2 pizza slices, with a small salad. Food - good Service - good Ambiance - Cheers like bar vibes, no Norm though. Slices of Pizza for the lunch special are limited to cheese, pepperoni, and sausage (unlike Minsky's) but they're large ish slices. Salad choice is either house or caesar, and the ranch option for dressing (amongst others) is tasty.. Pepperoni slices with a house salad was a good value and the 'regular' crust is thick and the topping stayed on the crust until invaded by your incisors. Also as a bonus, plenty of tasty Mozzarella cheese included so you can show off your cheese stretching skills either @ the bar or @ the table. read more

This was the first time in the Mission location. The cheesy breads was huge but no seasoning on it. The nachos were huge too. They did good layering the cheese across all chips but could use some more toppings throughout. The inside/outside atmosphere is very nice. read more

I liked the first-rate service, the fast kitchen, the nice atmosphere and the very reasonable prices during my opening week dine-in lunch visit. The chicken taco salad ($8.49) was served just six minutes after I ordered at the bar, where the service was cheerful and helpful. The salad was nicely sized with a good amount of tasty, shredded, moist, white chicken, fresh veggies and crisp tortilla chips. More salsa would have been nice, though. The interior was clean, nice and new with a large bar, a mix of tables and booths, 16 beers on tap, 17 TVs and 70's/80's classic rock background music. I also noticed a patio area without any seating yet. In addition to the reasonable menu prices, they also offer daily food and drink specials and a happy hour 3-6 PM M-F. The staff were still getting up to speed and there were some startup issues on their second day, but overall, my visit was very nice. read more

I came here with my daughters for lunch for the mozzarella sticks. Mozzarella sticks did not disappoint. However, the pizza was okay the sub was mid at best. The service was top-tier, even though I witnessed a server vaping while on duty. The atmosphere is definitely a sports bar, but it was clean and the people seemed happy and respectful . read more

I love the food here, I especially love their french fries. I think they season them so well and the crunchy texture is always very satisfying, on the crinkle cut fries. I came here for takeout and it was so busy and full. Tons of people were here I think for some sort of sports game that was playing on all the TV's. There are a lot of TVs in here. I ordered my takeout from the guy at the host stand and waited over by the window at a bar counter stool combo. It's a sports bar primarily, so the focus is on casual beer and loudness. I would not want to try to have a conversation in here. But the tables seemed nice and it appeared to be clean and not messy. The waiters were constantly moving around and taking care of the customers it seems. The food came out in a timely manner, not too long of a wait, but I hadn't ordered much. I just wanted a snack. They have many options of typical bar food as well as pizza. I haven't been impressed by the pastas but I haven't tried the lasagna yet. They do have very good mozzarella sticks. I would definitely recommend those. Very filling and wonderful texture and light amount of crunch. Good marinara sauce with it. I'm glad they made this second location of The Other Place, now I have one in both places I frequent a lot! read more

We went on a Thursday night right after it was open. It was packed. There was a short wait but that wasn't too bad. The service was a little slow, probably because they were just so busy and new. The biggest issue we had was we ordered a salad with chicken on it and the chicken was not cooked in the middle. We never send food back but we had to on this one. They took it back and brought us a new salad with fully cooked chicken immediately. The space was clean, had lots of TVs, and had a great sports bar atmosphere. read more

Our server Grace was great and I think I'd go 4 stars because our drinks & most of the food was really good, but the pizza was disappointing and it's so loud in here that my friend & I were literally screaming over each other to be heard. I get that it was Happy Hour at a sports bar on a Friday night, but there are similar restaurants that have better acoustics. The HH menu goes from 3-6 and there's a decent amount of stuff available. Our drinks didn't skimp on the alcohol & the nachos were fantastic, as were the fries- but it's kinda hard to mess up fries. Considering their sign outside includes that they're a 'pizzeria' we were expecting special pizza. This stuff was just plain & boring, totally lacking any flavor. It felt cheap, like the sad pizza from an elementary school cafeteria. I wonder if since it was HH they gave us their cheap lower tier pizza. I really hope it's not what they're serving everyone for lunch and dinner. The people deserve better pizza! read more

The food again was either completely the wrong order, undercooked to the point of being inedible or overcooked. Out of the 7 orders in our party, 4 were either completely wrong or not edible. Ordered items were forgotten about and never made it out with the meal and only after asking about it again, were brought out in a to go container and even that was incorrect. Male waiter working nights at this location on Saturdays was very rude and gripped the card reader out of the hands of our party and looked over for tips. Stormed off without a thank you or have a good night at least with still tipping a minimum of 20%. Just rude behavior for no reason on a Saturday night while still having 2 hours left of work hours. Absolutely unprofessional behavior and disgusting employee to have on staff. read more

This place was a one-and-done for me. I stopped in for lunch as I used to hit Avelutto's Italian that was there before them for a long time (and has moved up the hill off Johnson Dr, just fyi). I was impressed with the lunch specials pricing, but after I got my food (2 pizza slices and salad), I understood why. It was definitely low quality. I don't know how a place can have "pizzeria" in it's name and NOT make it's own dough for pizza. The slices I had were on a crust that was very clearly pre-made and probably frozen, like some of the ready to bake crusts that you get in the grocery store. It had almost no flavor and was barely a step above cardboard in quality. I honestly think you could get better pizza at a gas station. My girlfriend asked for a balsamic vinegar dressing for her salad and I'm not sure what it was really. It was so thick that it wouldn't even pour out of the plastic cup it came in. We opted to try one of their desserts and got a chocolate/peanut butter cake/brownie thing and it too was something that was mass produced somewhere and was hard and bland. If I wanted something mass produced for a meal, I could simply go and buy similar ingredients and make it better at home. I won't be returning. read more

My friends and I are staying at an Airbnb nearby and looking for a place to have dinner and drinks and we stubbled upon The Other Place. We walked in and there was no one at the hostess stand to seat us. We waiting and flagged someone down who finally seated us on the patio. We again sat there for 5-7 minutes with no acknowledgment and no service. We had to go looking for a server. When we finally got one the service was great and on point. Maybe we just slipped through the cracks. The food and drinks were great. I got the Kansas burger which advertised a runny egg and it was hard but still delicious and maybe not as messy. The pear mule was delicious but the pineapple margarita was like drinking gasoline with a hint of pineapple. Maybe upgrade the tequila on that one! I would go back for another try, especially on the service side of the house. read more

This rating is based solely on my two experiences with online ordering; dining in may be a better experience. I placed an online order for two pizzas. I showed up at approximately the time the order was supposed to be ready. I'm pretty sure the pizzas didn't even go into the oven until I was there and asked about the order twice; soon after my second inquiry, a manager appeared to tell me that it would be about 10-15 minutes before the pizzas would be ready. It ended up being closer to 20 minutes after that before the pizzas were ready, but at least they were hot. Fast forward about three weeks, and we think it's time to give The Other Place another try. I place my online order, but this time I purposefully show up about 10 minutes AFTER the order is supposed to be ready. Well, the order still was not ready when I arrived. After about 10 minutes, I see someone bring two pizzas out from the kitchen and bring them to the pick-up area. I go and ask if those are my pizzas, and one of the employees says they are not, without even checking. Fortunately, there was a second employee there - he checked and confirmed that it was my order. I have not experienced poor customer service like this at the location in downtown OP, so I was surprised that this seems to be the norm at this location. I was really hoping that I would have a better experience here, because we like The Other Place, and this location is much more convenient than the downtown OP location for our family. Unfortunately, there are too many other dining options nearby for us to give this particular store another chance. read more
