The food was excellent. I had a burrito. Shared chips and salsa. They have a green sauce that is great whether you get the mild or hot. The service was great too. The Margheritas were refreshing on a hot day.

We won a gift card for Tiki Taco from an auction and were excited to give them a try. I showed up with my husband and 1 year old daughter. The order window is right when you walk in, but the space is very small so if more than one or two people are there it's very crowded. Staff were great though at taking our order quickly and we found seats in the dining room and a high chair for our daughter. We ordered the chips and queso to start and I got the Baja fish tacos and a side of beans. I was excited when the chips and queso came out because a lot of places not have super thin chips that can't hold up to dipping but these were nice and thick. You could even see the salt crystals on top, which I appreciate. Unfortunately the chips were a bit of a let down. They tasted old....like either they were stale or the oil in the fryer hadn't been changed when it should. The queso on the other hand was very good. The beans were great, the seasoning for them was fantastic and the baby really enjoyed them too. The fish tacos were ok. The fish was cooked nicely, but the taco overall didn't have any flavor, the Baja sauce was there, but didn't seem to add anything to the overall taste. Overall, not bad, just not that good. Would be willing to come back any try again in case this was a one-off.

Ever since I tried Tiki Taco for the first time at the Yelp event this year. I got excited to see this local franchise expanding Had to check out this new place that took over an old Mexican Restaurant. They turned this into a new place. Love the decor, space, and food. My fav from here was the Thai fried chicken taco, carne taco and KC burrito. Everything came out fresh and hot. Def worth it. Service was great too.

We stopped by to try out the tacos and were not disappointed! We had never been to Tiki Taco before and so I first went up to the order counter to ask about whether they had any gluten-free options. They don't have very many but they have several. I chose two of the grilled shrimp tacos, and my husband had two grilled shrimp as well as a Korean barbecue taco. It came to almost $30 for five tacos, which to me is a bit high without any rice, but I will say that they were excellent and very flavorful and we would definitely go back. The service was good and friendly and they had a lot of people in and out, so there were workers continually cleaning off tables. We chose to eat outside since it was a nice day. They have indoor and outdoor seating and they also have a bar for alcohol alcoholic beverages.

I would give an enthusiastic 5 star review if not for the confusing seating and ordering process. It's open seating for most patrons. If you sit at the bar you can order from the bartender. If you sit outside you can order via a the QR code on the napkin box. If you snag an inside table you have to order at either the kiosk or the window via a real human. We only learned this because we asked. It was crowded and confusing and I really wish we would not have had to stalk people to get a table. Other than that, our experience was lovely. The food and drinks were awesome, and for opening week-this place ran like a well oiled machine. A few kinks to work out, but overall it's an awesome place. We look forward to returning, and hopefully this busy addition to downtown Shawnee will make it much less confusing for patrons.

We go on Taco Tuesday since most of the street tacos are $1.49 each. They have quite a few proteins to choose from and a few more that aren't on the special price. The tamales are also delicious and very reasonably priced at less than $2 each. They have puerco rojo and pollo verde. I've tried both and love both! There's also a market and in the back is a large meat market. I grabbed some Pastor to cook at home last time I visited. The only negative I have is that as a small business, they run out of certain foods so you need to be ready to change your order if you go later in the day and it's a market so the ambiance of eating there is not anything special but I many folks just get it to go. Otherwise, I really love Mi Pueblito and think it's a gem many people don't take advantage of in JoCo.

Walking in you'll find it's a very bright, cheerful atmosphere, very clean, with about ten tables (I think), and two tv's playing Spanish music. The people are nice and very efficient. Chef Joseph is phenomenal. He was manning the register when I went in. I'd never been to a Mexican & Salvadoran restaurant before. I'm familiar with Mexican American food, a little bit with truly authentic Mexican, and not at all with Salvadoran. Chef Joseph came out from behind the counter and sat at my table explaining the menu to me, the dishes, the flavor profiles. He gave suggestions on what order based on what I told him I liked. I got one of the combo dishes mainly because it offered a variety of proteins and side dishes. I also saw several more items in the menu that I knew I wanted to try on my next visit. The food was delicious! I surprised myself by finishing the whole plate. I was also delighted to find La Cocina De Mary had atole. It's a traditional cold weather drink made with masa harina, milk, and spices. My tia made it when I was a kid, so there's fond memories. This one was better ... and lucky for me tia isn't on Yelp and will never read this. They have soft drinks and a few alcohol drinks that I may try next time. The one that's a bloody mary except with beer instead of vodka sounded interesting. Next time I go, I'm taking FPO with me. This is a great little place and I hope they're there for a long time to come.

The food was made fresh, I've always wanted to try the barria taco but no one seems to offer anything but a beef option. And finally, I found a chicken one. It was Delish !! Now I couldn't dip in the au just because it was beef but I appreciate having the option. The Mexican rice was light and flavorful. The queso was good however it stiffened up pretty quickly, just in case you feel the anxiety of choosing between. Your appetizer and the main costs course. Respectfully, nothing was fundamentally wrong with the food, but it didn't distinguish itself. I'd eat there again if nearby, but wouldn't travel for it. Service was good for ordering and receiving time. From order to table was approximately 10 minutes which is exceptional considering the quantity of food ordered. The tables needed to be wiped down, and the table service was pretty much non-existent. You order your food at a register, seat yourself and that's that. No waitress or water; you have to buy bottled water. Price point was ~$65 for the taco platter and another ~$10 for the quesabirria tacos. This filled up the family of 4 with leftovers. There is a condiments / salsa bar but customers ran through it and there was mixed food between all the containers. The pickled red onion has their own kick to it which I enjoyed and their salsas/hot sauces are good. The decor is pretty straightforward, tables and chairs, with typical music you'd expect from other Mexican restaurants. Futbol on the TV's and old movies on others. There is a chef at the opposite end of where you order your food, hats off to that man he was very receptive and worked very hard. He helped with getting our table wiped down, our waters, and to go stuff for our leftovers, if he sees this, I want him to know I appreciated his efforts. This review is for my first time experience in Overland Park. I do not know if this is normal or because it was a Sunday that this is what the experience is but I will say, If they offered free water, had a busser, and kept the place more tidy it easily would elevate the rating.
