If you've been to a Tiki Taco in the area before, this one is exactly what you'd expect. Fun decor inside and delicious food and drink. They also have a nice patio, a walk up window, and great service. I recently visited this location for the first time and wasn't disappointed. I started with a margarita and it was delicious per usual. I had to start with some chips and queso. The queso is really good. It's pretty mild. The individual that took the order also gave some food suggestions. She suggested an avocado taco with added al Pastor. I also ordered a soft taco with just al pastor and a ground beef chimi. I did not know that you can get the Al Pastor with pineapple or without. But who wants it without pineapple? The tacos were delicious and exactly what I expected. The pork is super flavorful and juicy. The chimi was crispy and indulgent. I will definitely return to this location and I recommend that you check it out if you haven't been yet.

We won a gift card for Tiki Taco from an auction and were excited to give them a try. I showed up with my husband and 1 year old daughter. The order window is right when you walk in, but the space is very small so if more than one or two people are there it's very crowded. Staff were great though at taking our order quickly and we found seats in the dining room and a high chair for our daughter. We ordered the chips and queso to start and I got the Baja fish tacos and a side of beans. I was excited when the chips and queso came out because a lot of places not have super thin chips that can't hold up to dipping but these were nice and thick. You could even see the salt crystals on top, which I appreciate. Unfortunately the chips were a bit of a let down. They tasted old....like either they were stale or the oil in the fryer hadn't been changed when it should. The queso on the other hand was very good. The beans were great, the seasoning for them was fantastic and the baby really enjoyed them too. The fish tacos were ok. The fish was cooked nicely, but the taco overall didn't have any flavor, the Baja sauce was there, but didn't seem to add anything to the overall taste. Overall, not bad, just not that good. Would be willing to come back any try again in case this was a one-off.

Ever since I tried Tiki Taco for the first time at the Yelp event this year. I got excited to see this local franchise expanding Had to check out this new place that took over an old Mexican Restaurant. They turned this into a new place. Love the decor, space, and food. My fav from here was the Thai fried chicken taco, carne taco and KC burrito. Everything came out fresh and hot. Def worth it. Service was great too.

We stopped by to try out the tacos and were not disappointed! We had never been to Tiki Taco before and so I first went up to the order counter to ask about whether they had any gluten-free options. They don't have very many but they have several. I chose two of the grilled shrimp tacos, and my husband had two grilled shrimp as well as a Korean barbecue taco. It came to almost $30 for five tacos, which to me is a bit high without any rice, but I will say that they were excellent and very flavorful and we would definitely go back. The service was good and friendly and they had a lot of people in and out, so there were workers continually cleaning off tables. We chose to eat outside since it was a nice day. They have indoor and outdoor seating and they also have a bar for alcohol alcoholic beverages.

I would give an enthusiastic 5 star review if not for the confusing seating and ordering process. It's open seating for most patrons. If you sit at the bar you can order from the bartender. If you sit outside you can order via a the QR code on the napkin box. If you snag an inside table you have to order at either the kiosk or the window via a real human. We only learned this because we asked. It was crowded and confusing and I really wish we would not have had to stalk people to get a table. Other than that, our experience was lovely. The food and drinks were awesome, and for opening week-this place ran like a well oiled machine. A few kinks to work out, but overall it's an awesome place. We look forward to returning, and hopefully this busy addition to downtown Shawnee will make it much less confusing for patrons.

It's a smaller, simpler cocktail menu and the prices are very fair compared to other cocktail spots. I tried the Caipirinha (pineapple) and the Negroni sour. Both were good. My favorite between the two was the Negroni. It had a pretty color and wasn't too sour or strong. I'd def recommend it and get it again. Definitely stop in and check out this cute spot in Shawnee.

We ended up sitting at the bar and I started with the Reformed Porn Star (vanilla vodka, bronson's tropical milk punch, passion fruit, Prosecco, citric acid and popping boba) which was by far my favorite drink and felt like I could have drank a couple more of these. Second I tried the Neo Cosmo (white rum, strawberry, cacao, coconut, rose hip, lime, bubble) which was good and was a fun drink with an ice cream shaped cup and a bubble on the top (meant to look like an ice cream cone). If you are in the area, this bar is a must try, the bartenders were awesome and took good care of us. Between the creative cocktails, fun atmosphere, unique floral setting, this was a memorable experience I'd definitely return for.

The little trash can drink was fun and had great flavors. My only negative about the place is the seating. It was adorable and the drinks were divine. Around Christmas they do a popup bar and in 2025 it was themed around a ski lodge. We tried to versions of the old fashioned on the menu and though we did like one over the other both were well balanced cocktails. After we ordered our libations the bartender suggested we head upstairs where it was less crowded and it was so cozy we felt like we were in someone's living room. Another couple joined us and we ended up having such a lovely conversation with them, chatting all about our favorite hot spots in Kansas City (gotta love KC pride). Just a note this is a slightly hidden speakeasy inside a pizza place, you need to have a password but it's easily found on their social media pages- just check Instagram. On our way out we decided to get a slice of pie (pizza pie that is) to balance out all that whiskey we washed down. I believe the one we got to go was called The Bee-sting, it had pepperoni and hot honey and though it was simple it hit the spot after a night of imbibing. I would most definitely revisit common tiger even without the winter aesthetic.

I tried the Running of the Bullshit: blanco tequila, pineapple, lime, and smoked honey. It was good. The smoked honey was a tad overpowering but overall not bad. I'd probably opt for a different cocktail next time. I had a sip of the watermelon moonshine: blanco tequila, watermelon, grenadine, lemon, luxando, plum bitters, and topo Chico. It was watermelon! But it was good. Very refreshing. Both cocktails were very visually appealing with fun accessories and accents. Definitely check them out!
