Our order went in quickly and the food was out not too much later. Everything was fresh and delicious! The tacos were some of the best I've had in the area! Well worth a visit! Great food, great service!

I went to La Cocina De Mary last week by myself and was absolutely blown away. It's a wonderful…read morelittle restaurant tucked in between a wild bird store and a sandwich place. Walking in you'll find it's a very bright, cheerful atmosphere, very clean, with about ten tables (I think), and two tv's playing Spanish music. The people are nice and very efficient. Chef Joseph is phenomenal. He was manning the register when I went in. I'd never been to a Mexican & Salvadoran restaurant before. I'm familiar with Mexican American food, a little bit with truly authentic Mexican, and not at all with Salvadoran. Chef Joseph came out from behind the counter and sat at my table explaining the menu to me, the dishes, the flavor profiles. He gave suggestions on what order based on what I told him I liked. I got one of the combo dishes mainly because it offered a variety of proteins and side dishes. I also saw several more items in the menu that I knew I wanted to try on my next visit. The food was delicious! I surprised myself by finishing the whole plate. I was also delighted to find La Cocina De Mary had atole. It's a traditional cold weather drink made with masa harina, milk, and spices. My tia made it when I was a kid, so there's fond memories. This one was better ... and lucky for me tia isn't on Yelp and will never read this. They have soft drinks and a few alcohol drinks that I may try next time. The one that's a bloody mary except with beer instead of vodka sounded interesting. Next time I go, I'm taking FPO with me. This is a great little place and I hope they're there for a long time to come.

Don't judge a book by its reviews…read more.. I've done some looking at this place and felt very skeptical coming in. I wasn't even sure if I was going to enjoy myself but boy was I wrong. To start off Rafael, at the front was very funny and made it very comforting. He made conversation with us and was very accommodating. We also received free chips and queso which was my daughter's favorite! The place itself is very calm and just seems like a chill spot to come for a quick eat. I ordered the steak tacos and veggie burrito (which Rafael fixed up for me on regular price with no extra charges for adding fries). We enjoyed our food and had a great time. Everything was delicious and Rafael did a great job on making this a good time for us. I wasn't really a big fan of their horchata but they had other good drinks available. I want to add that I feel like we started receiving special treatment because they realized we were yelpies so I don't know how service is on a regular day. Altogether, I'll be coming back here again!

He told us about the menu and even let us try the horchata before purchasing! The customer service was perfection. That alone would bring me back. I thought the horchata was great but ended up getting the sangria (non alcoholic). The quesobiria was fireeeee and came with grilled onions and a pepper. For 2 tacos, menudo sauce, a drink, onion, and pepper, it was about 10 dollars. That is extremely reasonable! We also enjoyed the interior because it felt home like. My favorite part was the chips and queso, which was the perfect balance of creamy and salty.
