Quesabirrias

I went specifically for the quesabirrias in August and have been back two more times. If I lived closer... I'd be in trouble. Some of the best quesabirrias I've had so far.

Two Pollo and Two Birria Street Tacos - Mmm!

I liked the tasty food and reasonable prices at this Mexican food truck, which was semi-permanently located just off I-35 at 24th St (the Lamar exit). The menu included a variety of Mexican favorites including street tacos, burritos, quesabirrias (their specialty), quesadillas, tortas and menudo (weekends only). My four street tacos ($2.25 each) were ready just five minutes after I ordered at the window, where the service was mixed - the gray-haired cook was friendly and welcoming while the young man at the window was just accommodative. The tacos had generous portions of tasty, moist, shredded meat with diced onions and cilantro on soft, fresh, double layer 5" tortillas. They came with lime wedges, cucumber slices and two sauces - a tasty mild green and a hot red with a good, but not overwhelming amount of heat - nice! They offer an outside seating area with umbrellas. Overall, very nice!

Let me start by saying by far some of the best tacos I have tasted in a while. The tacos are always good, the food is always fresh. I love how they include Consome sauce when you order the taco that has more than 1. Some people charge for consome, here they automatically add it. They include enough limes and extra onions for the street tacos. The customer service is wonderful if I call they answer questions with no problem. The food is very high quality and they do not over charge. With them being a food truck they get your food completely in a timely manner.

I love the consome soup that we got. The only other place that I found this soup is in California. The lady helping us was very kind and polite. The are was clean and was very well upkeep. We will definitely be returning.

Wow. So good. I ordered the Birria quesabirria to go and it was amazing! Looking forward to visiting this in person soon! My photo doesn't do it justice, I dug in before I took a photo.

El Pastor tacos

I had an asada burrito and 2 pastor tacos. The burrito was 10/10 and very filling. The tacos were fine but I prefer the tacos down the street at El Matador. The meat didn't have a ton of flavor and the whole thing was kind of overwhelmed by the raw tasting corn tortillas they were wrapped in. If you want a burrito I would highly recommend Don Rudy's though.

This food truck doesn't look the most appealing- but DAMN, the food is soooooooo gooooooddddd ! I tried it for the first time about two weeks ago and have had to stop here 4 more times! You can't miss with this food!

Had the asada burrito, wasn't steak tbh it was ground beef. Wasn't great. Tortilla was the best part. Don't believe there was cheese inside either

BOMB A$$ FOOD! The tacos are SO good, best Al pastor I've had. Tacos come with green and red salsa, limes, and radishes. Can't forget to mention how full they pack the tacos. Very nice & fast service. The quesabirria is full of flavor with delicious consomé. A place to visit!

Don Antonios is one of the best street taco joints/carniceria/tortilleria in Kansas City,…read moreKansas...I might as well say in the KC Metro! I've eaten there for years, but one of my recent stops made me realize it's more than just the food. Please read on.... An immigrant showed me friendship in food, even though I was a stranger. The place was packed and the only open table was where the workers sit. I was by myself, but one of the restaurant workers came up with her lunch and gestured to me if she could sit at the table. I smiled and said "Si." I noticed she was eating birria tacos with consomme and it looked delicious. She saw me and laughed, said something in Spanish which I think translated into "Would you like some birria and consomme?" I nodded yes and she went back to the kitchen and returned with a small container. You can tell from the video the broth was rich, the birria was tender and fatty (but in the best way)! I tried to convey to her it was great and thank you. She asked me something in Spanish and I could only respond in a gringo "Que'?" I finally used Google Translate and she was asking if I worked nearby. I was dressed in my blue collar clothes! I used the App to tell her I drove in from my part of town and she smiled and laughed. I think she understood how much I loved eating at Don Antonios, because I would drive at least 25 minutes to eat there. If she only knew I'm there every week! This experience reinforced what I already knew. Immigrants are kind and caring people. Just like my grandparents when they arrived in America before WWII. I also know what my family and I have experienced when you don't look like the majority.... Just my two cents and a tip of the hat to an immigrant who showed me friendship in food, even though I was a stranger.

The menu is huge, packed with endless combinations of classic favorites and unique twists, so there's truly something for everyone. If you dine in, do not skip the complimentary chips and salsa bar. Warm, crispy chips and multiple salsas ranging from mild to "okay, I feel that" spicy--pick your poison and enjoy. Delicious all around. I've stopped in several times and keep coming back for the No. 20. It's incredibly filling and almost always leaves me with leftovers to take home (which I consider a win). Every meal has been consistently good--I haven't had a disappointing bite yet. The restaurant itself is clean and comfortable, with plenty of tables and booths. The staff is friendly and happy to help you navigate the menu if you need a little guidance. Reliable, tasty, and easy--this place is definitely worth adding to your regular rotation

Fantastic dinner!…read more Amazing food! I had Mole Enchilada with rice, and ordered seasonal vegetables as side. Our table also had table side guacamole and salsa and chips. That mole was amazing! I'll be back - the mole and guac makes my mouth water thinking about it. The Mole Enchilada with chicken was so delicious - deep flavor with juicy shredded chicken. The seasonal vegetables included broccolini, carrots, and asparagus - slightly crunchy, just the way I liked them cooked! I also had a La Chimosa cocktail - c a m a r e n a tequila blanco, l i m e, a g a v e, g r a p e f r u i t soda, passion fruit - pretty good. I enjoyed the ambiance - lots of beautiful art on the walls, subtle lighting, green plants, tasteful decorations, table lines, and relaxed atmosphere. We were there on a Monday night - it wasn't busy. It was a great place to go for our business group of five. Servers were friendly, especially the woman at the front as you entered. We had a nice chat while I waited for the rest of our table to arrive. They validated parking in the garage next door - so keep that in mind if street parking is unavailable. Pricing was what I would expect for this nice location. It was $$ to $$$ depending on what you ordered. I would definitely go back and recommend!
