    Girl Dinner Menu

First time visiting and we came for the Girl Dinner event -- 3 courses for $40 was a solid deal. The website mentioned drink pairings for each course, but we were only recommended prosecco across all three, which was a bit disappointing. That said, the service and atmosphere more than made up for it. Every staff member who passed our table checked in on us, and the music kept the vibe going all night.

Today I went to Urban Restaurant and tried the shrimp and grits with a side of greens. The dish came out hot and flavorful the grits were creamy, the shrimp were seasoned well, and everything came together perfectly. The greens were tender with great flavor and paired really well with the meal.

We dine here regularly, and have never had a bad experience; it's our top recommendation for out-of-town guests. The brunch is second to none; top-notch drinks, and the brown butter pancakes are out of this world! No syrup needed! Friendly staff, chill but upscale environment...Urban has quickly become one of our favorites!

Meet me at the bar.. my usual seat. Lobster anything gets my attention. I was not a fan of the fried clams and so they were removed...with extra spread to add was more to my liking. So if you like fried clams and lobster you'll love this sandwich.

Easily my favorite restaurant in the city I've had most of the things on their menu and everything has been so good. The owner always comes out to greet me and is very nice. I want their fried chicken and waffles, but I want pancakes and they made the accommodation no problem. The shrimp and grits are to die for best soul food in the city.

The food was good and well seasoned! I can here with a group of friends and the service was quick and they were very hospitable. Would definitely come back.

Ambiance is nice, music was great, brunch potatoes were delicious. There are a few seats that were blinded by the sun, probably a brunch problem only. The Menu on yelp was not the same. I was drawn to pick Urban for brunch because of the listed mocktails, smoothies and juices none of which were offered.

    * CELIAC / GLUTEN FREE REVIEW lots of great-sounding options for non-celiacs, but definitely a smaller selection for GF. I got the urban bowl, it was just okay - but I did not get sick! I was hoping for a little richer flavor than what I got, but it wasn't bad by any means. The restaurant itself has a very cool vibe and the staff were super kind, just wasn't in love with what I got.

Yum! I went here for lunch and wanted something on the lighter side, so I went with the Chicken Caesar Salad. It definitely was not your average version. It was served over a crispy, breaded chicken cutlet and piled high with greens, cherry tomatoes, cheese, and dressing. So good! My friend had the pancake breakfast and enjoyed it as well. The playlist and vibe were on point. Our server was friendly and apologized for being a bit stretched thin due to a large party. Can't wait to try more on the menu next time!

Delicious Food, Attentive Service, easiest to arrive using Public Transit! This gorgeous new restaurant is in a new apartment building on the corner of Troost and Armor. I was lucky to find parking across the street, but if you are taking the bus, it's super convenient. It was a quiet weeknight dinner, the menu is diverse with several vegan options with Southern staples as well. My friend and I shared everything and we're very happy. The shrimp and grits were spectacular, with flavorful braised greens, bacon, and shrimp. The fillet Oscar was decadent. Carrot cake is large enough for 4 people and the bread Pudding is delicious.

Service was great, establishment was beautiful but the food that I picked although beautiful was not very tasty. The eggs were runny and flavorless. The bacon tasted like microwaved bacon And I didn't know the crème Brulé French toast I picked meant that it was going to taste burnt. I even asked is it supposed to taste burnt and my server replied " yes that's what crème brule is" the mimosa was nice. I went for a solo date and there were a lot of people in there also on solo dates. So definitely a nice place to catch a vibe. I'm sure I just picked the wrong stuff I wouldn't mind going again and trying something different

My family and I enjoyed brunch at Urban Cafe. Service was very prompt and accommodating. The ambiance was very warm and welcoming. We enjoyed the music played as well. I ordered the shrimp and grits and it was very tasty. I will definitely return when I'm in town.

My wife and I came in here on a Friday at 6:30. We had reservations, but didn't really need them, as the restaurant wasn't very busy yet. More people started coming in after we had ordered, but it would have been easy to have secured a table just walking in. The bar is very nice with one TV and the ambience of the place is upscale. We were promptly greeted by our server who took our drink orders. I got a Blackberry Bramble with bourbon. I really liked it. It had just the right amount of sweetness that perfectly combined with the bourbon to make a good sipping cocktail. We ended up ordering the Farmer's Veg (vegetarian) for an appetizer. I assume the vegetable in this dish is seasonal, but I'm unsure. It ended up being roasted cauliflower with labneh and it was good. For my entree, I chose the Kung Pao Cauliflower (vegan). It's served with kale salad, spicy Thai chili and cashews. It was delicious and it had a good kick to it. My wife got the salmon with sides of green beans and macaroni and cheese. The sides were also good and she enjoyed her salmon. We didn't anticipate the size of the Mac and cheese, and we ended up taking the leftovers with us. For dessert, we had ordered the bread pudding but our sever accidentally put in for the blondie. We went ahead and just went with it and it was good. Other than working out some minor kinks like the incorrect dessert order and our plates being taken (and then replaced before we used them), this place is fantastic! I'll definitely come back to dine here again and it is a great spot for date night or a special occasion. They have an extensive drink menu, so I may just come here for a cocktail sometime as well.

This rooftop gem on the Country Club Plaza has such a youthful, energetic vibe--perfect for a milestone like this. Our server was excellent--super friendly, attentive, and even recommended a beautiful and delicious cocktail that paired perfectly with our dinner. We went all out and sampled a ton from the menu: fried lobster tail, pepperoni pizza, spicy tuna roll, salmon roll, wagyu Nagiri, oysters with caviar, and wagyu sliders. Most of the food was absolutely delicious! The sushi rolls stood out with their unique flavors and beautiful presentation--what a nice surprise. Our absolute favorites were the wagyu nagiri (melt-in-your-mouth incredible) and the oysters with caviar. The wagyu sliders were also a hit. That said, the fried lobster tail was a bit of a letdown--chewy and lacking the flavor punch that everything else delivered. The atmosphere is lively and fun, but heads up: it gets very loud. We were at one of those tiny cocktail tables and basically had to yell across it to chat, which made conversation a challenge during dinner. On the bright side, we scored an amazing seat with a stunning view of the Plaza. Watching the sunset while eating was magical and made the whole experience feel extra special for a birthday. Overall, great food (with just a couple minor misses), awesome vibes, top-notch service, and that unbeatable rooftop setting. I'd definitely recommend Prime Social and we'd go back in a heartbeat--maybe just bring earplugs if you're planning to talk a lot! 4 stars.

It's located in a cool area in the middle of the plaza right underneath Chiefs Fit gym. As soon as you enter you get a feel for the great ambiance and fun variety of music. We came in during a cold snowy day and took full advantage of the FREE coat check at the front desk. On the first floor there's a mini golf course as well as a full bar and seating area. Once you go downstairs though, you'll see just how massive the place is. Theres TONS of seating and cool little nooks to hangout in which make it great for a date night or corporate events. Once you get into the mini golf there's some great courses to check out. Each one has a different theme and they make it super simple to track your points. Simply enter the names of all your players on the touch screen at the first hole, then enter the number of strokes afterwards. After that it will follow you throughout the course until you're finished and tell you who wins at the end! There's also a place to sit your drinks at the start of each hole with a menu of course specific cocktails that I highly recommend trying. Every part of this place is perfect to take pictures and have a great time. But in my opinion, the true highlight of the Puttery is the food. I had the pleasure of meeting the head chef while here and he truly puts his heart into the menu. Our server Mariah was also super helpful giving us drink and food recommendations throughout our time here. Everything sounded amazing but I had to go with the Cajun Chicken Philly since I'm a sucker for a Philly sandwich. It was one of my favorite sandwiches I've ever had. From the soft delicious bread to the unbelievably juicy and tender chicken, this was such a great dish. The combination of ingredients and the plating itself made it clear that nothing comes as an afterthought here. I also tried the loaded fries which were a great recent addition to the menu. Last, we finished it off by trying the Tiramisu, Raspberry Donut Cheesecake, and the Bourbon Bread Pudding. Each one was really amazing but my favorite was the Raspberry Donut Cheesecake, and I'm not even a huge cheesecake fan! I definitely plan to come back here just for the food because it was so delicious!! And on top of that, they recently started a meal prep service which I plan to take full advantage of! Overall you can tell that every detail is thought through at the Puttery. It truly feels like a luxury experience with an element of fun to round it out. The service is amazing and the food and drinks are to die for. If you're ever looking for a fun date night, a group outing, or even just a place for a solo dinner or drinks, you have to check this place out!

Gram & Dun was one of those restaurants. We show up for our reservations and get seated for a wonderful meal. Ambiance was surreal. The vibes inside were that of a modern Italian kitchen inside of a Southern parlor room. I know that doesn't make any sense, but it's true. And the restaurant looks out upon the quaint downtown street of this Kansas City suburb through giant, floor-to-ceiling windows. So beautiful. Service was great, as well. The server knew the menu very well, and was able to answer a few questions, guiding me to the correct thing to order. The apps, entrees, and dessert were all paced well, too. Service lead to a lovely evening. As for the food, we started off with the Not-So-Standard Potato Chips (parmesan, sauce flight: gold sauce, comeback sauce, black pepper bourbon ketchup). These were very good. House cooked chips that were just thick enough, had a good bite to them, and were absolutely covered in luscious parm. The sauce flight was fun, too. Keep the leftovers around to pair with the rest of your meal. Onto the Low Country Pimento Cheese (fried saltine crackers, candied black pepper bacon, bread & butter pickles, tomato jalapeño jam). Hillbilly charcuterie. Lots of fun to mix and match some bacon, some pickles, a little jam, all on those very unctuous Saltines. Very fun app. My main was the Brick Pressed Chicken (lemon & thyme brine, prosciutto & sausage bread pudding, caramelized cabbage, lemon & shallot cream sauce). Chicken was cooked to a charred perfection, that savory bread pudding was just an amazing as it sounds, and the cream sauce really brightened everything up. I don't usually get chicken, but I'm telling you, this was the chicken to get. I also got to try one of the nightly specials, some sort of cheesy parmesan pasta covered in black truffle shavings. It was as extravagant as it sounds. Fresh-made pastas, giant chunks of lobster, cheesy ooey gooey, and those truffle shavings add just a touch of class and umami that really made this a good pasta dish. We finished up with the Gram & Dun Bar (chocolate peanut and pretzel nougat, marshmallow cream cheese, chocolate mousse, peanut butter ice cream). Again, another thing I don't usually go for, the dessert bar, but this place did it in a way I haven't seen before. Each layer added to the dessert. Nougat, cream cheese, and mousse, all tied together with that cold, creamy peanut butter ice cream. So so good. Overall, as good as this place was on paper, Gram & Dun really blew me away. Really elegant food, found right in the heart of the country. It was a pleasant surprise, and I would come back in a heartbeat.

Nestled inside the ultra-luxurious Raphael Hotel, this upscale Restaurant/jazz club had our group feeling like we were heading to a high-society adult prom. The ambiance practically demands a raised eyebrow and a sophisticated toast. Naturally, the libations were flowing. On one end of the table sat a chocolate martini so decadent it looked borderline sinful. On the polar opposite end of the spectrum, I ordered an extra-dirty Chopin martini, complete with blue-cheese-stuffed olives. Look, it didn't reinvent the wheel, but it was executed exactly the way I'd make it at home--assuming I could ever actually find a bottle of Chopin in any of our local liquor establishments. (Seriously, who is hoarding it?) We kicked things off with the gourmet bread basket. Do yourself a favor and cough up the extra $5 for the super soft bread and whipped butter; your tastebuds will thank you for not being cheap. For my starter, I opted for the she-crab soup, which presented itself as a spectacularly rich crab bisque. Word on the street is that she-crab Is vastly superior to he-crab. This is a PG-rated review, so I shall leave the mechanics to your imagination. Then came the piece de résistance: the 12-ounce ribeye, flanked by asparagus spears and Delmonico potatoes. This sucker was thick. When I asked our waitress for a proper steak knife, she politely pointed to my standard-issue butter knife and confidently declared, "That's it!" I thought she was joking. She wasn't. Melt-in-your-mouth is an understatement; this medium-rare masterpiece yielded to a butter knife like it was soft brie. The sides were equally stellar. The Delmonico potatoes were a beautifully elevated, elite version of scalloped potatoes, and the asparagus was snappy, tender, and perfectly seasoned. The evening's only tragic misstep was the cheesecake. It, too, was incredibly thick--but in all the wrong ways. While fortunately not overbaked, the texture resembled a very well-flavored, highly gourmet paste. To add insult to injury, the graham cracker crust had completely surrendered its structural integrity, offering none of the classic crunch I crave. Minor dessert tragedy aside, it was a phenomenal evening. The service was impeccable, the vibe was unmatched, and that steak alone warrants a return visit. Next time, I'll just be exploring a different corner of the dessert menu.
