Went to AR's on a weekday and it was the perfect time to go since it was way less crowded. It was smaller inside than I had imagined. Everything we ordered was really good and the portions are HUGE, so come hungry. We went to ARs for brunch on a Friday around 10am. It's a cute restaurant and it was really clean. There were not many places to sit and wait for our table which we would have appreciated, but it was worth the wait. The food was amazing and fresh. I got chilaquiles with steak and the chips were crispy and steak was seasoned to perfection. The red sauce tasted like chipotle, lots of depth. The green sauce was our favorite, very fresh with flavors of cilantro and lime. My eggs were perfectly runny. Great place! We came around 9:30 on a Saturday and it wasn't packed! Got seated right away and our food was in front of us within 15 minutes! Many food options and drinks options as well. Tried the country fried steak which was thicker cut and had a nice crisp to it. Also tried the veggie skillet and the salsa verde was some of the best I've ever had. The breakfast potatoes were good too. Staff was super nice and they keep it cold in there. Fair warning, they have a 2hr table limit if they're busy and the OP farmers market is across the street on Saturday's so beware you might have to park and walk a bit and plan when you come to eat. read more

This is my first time posting a review. We live To go out for breakfast and we're thrilled to hear about Ar's Breakfast. Think twice before going if you are just two people. We were told it would be 20 min for a table which was fine. Two people came in after 25 min and they sat them right away in a four top. We understood that they called ahead And was happy to know they had the service. We were told that the next table is ours. 5 min later another 4 top came available. Right when they were going to seat us 4 people came in and they said we have to give them the 4 top. They said we don't seat two in a four top. I said there are two other table with two at a four top. There are only 3 - Two top tables. The owner just raised his hands and said Nothing when my husband tried to explain. No apologies only rudeness. My friends and I came here for brunch on a Saturday. The place was small and not much seating. The decor was nice and overall pleasing. We had to wait about 15-20 mins for seating. Once we sat down, the server came over and ordered our drinks and answered all the questions we had. We shared a big mimosa drink, we were a little disappointed because they had given us a big pillar looking thing for our mimosas instead of the usual cool big mimosa cups that we've seen online. It was a 40 minute wait on Memorial Day, so I'm sure it's also got to be super busy on weekends. But the wait is 100% worth it! AR's menu is super expansive and everything was incredibly affordable - I think everything was under $15 which is very hard to come by in this economy. The portion sizes do not skimp and the Bennies was delicious - the biscuits & gravy was so creamy and the breakfast potatoes were good without ketchup (which is how you know it's good). I did sample the Bacon Skillet and I'd say stay away from that because it was overwhelmingly carby, dry, and not something that would be pleasant to eat for your entire meal. But the Bennies was delicious and I'm definitely going to be back to try something else! read more

One of the best places to eat at in KC!! We came here directly from the airport and it was just the best choice we could've made! It was pretty early and we were seated right away. The place was clean and spacious and the servers/waiteress was also very friendly. She checked in regularly without it being overwhelming and she made sure we had what we needed at all times. For food we tried the chilaquiles both red and green, the fajita bowl, and a place with chorizo. Mine was by far my favorite! The bowl was huge!! I ended up finishing it later in our hotel but I got it with two over medium eggs that were topped with cilantro and some sour cream! Beneath that were the breakfast potatoes, grilled onions, mixed peppers, black beans and a ton of steak! My bowl was hot and it paired perfectly with my coffee! The service was quick and easy, and the menu is HUGE! I was so glad to have a TON of veggie options to choose from, and the Veggie Skillet was calling my name. I definitely made the right choice! The veg was cooked perfectly and seasoned so well without being too spicy. I really liked the green salsa that came with it, and the eggs were perfect too! After this experience it'll be hard to try any other menu items, but in the name of research I'll just have to suffer through it hahahaha! My third visit to a latin inspired menu. Simple breakfast. Ham and cheese omelet english muffin and pre-made breakfast potatoes. I was one of 5 patrons. A guy who came in after me was served before. Only reason i say that is my breakfast came and no english muffin, potatoes were cold!!!!!! Then my server disappeared. I had to hail another server. My english muffin showed up fee minutes later and i had to butter it myself. Omelette was great. Eggs were light and fluffy but it would have been better with hot potatoes. I ordered the giant mimosa for pictures along w horchata waffles, chilaquiles, and the chorizo scramble. The mimosa can be transferred into a pour container if you are sharing . The chilaquiles and scamble turned out really well. Everything tasted fresh and had good contrast of texture and flavors. I like the portion size as well. The horchata waffles were really good. I could eat the whole plate as a dessert. The restaurant was clean and larger and took over the chingu space. I wish their sign out front was bigger so people can see it to stop by. My wife and I ate breakfast here. I forgot to take pics but I had the traditional Breakfast and my wife had their Avocado toast. Both were really good. Their coffee is good as well. It wasn't overly bitter. Some places have bitter coffee, which I don't care for. Only issue is parking. There isn't really a parking lot, so you have to park across the street in the bank parking lot or around the corner and walk. Not a big deal, but since I'm not from the area it was tricky trying to figure out where to park. The service was great. Quick and efficient. It's a bit loud inside, but still nice and clean. I would eat here again. I felt the price was decent as well. So good value for a bigger city restaurant. read more

This was my first time visiting AR's Breakfast & Brunch. I was very happy to see that they had quite a few Gluten Free options and especially GF pancakes! The options were well marked with a symbol on the menu. They had an extensive menu for a breakfast and brunch establishment. I had the pick your own choice and I chose eggs (medium), sausage patties and the GF pancake and it comes with breakfast potatoes. All the food was cooked perfectly, the only thing I didn't care for were the sausage patties as they seemed bland. The GF pancake was one of the best that I've had! I stopped in here recently with my mom for lunch during the week and found it fairly empty so it was easy to get a table and have a nice catch up. Truthfully everything on the menu looked delicious but I settled on the Mexican Skillet and didn't' look back. With chorizo, eggs, and potatoes it was a hit, and my mom also loved her meal. It was plenty of food so if you're coming here with a friend you could certainly share something - I think I took just about half of mine home for lunch the next day. I found the ambiance to be a bit sterile for my liking, though I do wonder if maybe it feels a bit warmer when it's bustling on a Sunday morning. Our 1st visit since we were in the area dealing with car maintenance. There is plenty if parking right past it. It has a small but well done outdoor seating area ( which we enjoyed) ! They have one of the BIGGEST mimosas I have ever seen. Wycliff Champagne combined with your choice of orange, pineapple, cranberry, grapefruit, strawberry or passion fruit juice. Love the presentation and it was super refreshing and didn't even give me a headache. The food was delish! Horchata Waffles were superb. Fluffy and sweet.
