In the bar area. Good food and service, but the music is so loud you can't hear the person next to you. It's just a good thing the bartenders know what I want. read more

Nick and Jake's continues to impress us. From the moment you walk in you feel welcomed. Whether seated in the bar or dining room a server acknowledges you right away. Even if they're stopping by to say "I'll be right with you" or to take a drink order. (That's good training) We like to try new menu items and so far have not been disappointed. Salads, sandwiches and entrees all have been tasty and satisfying. We also enjoy their specials. Burgers, steaks and seafood. My faves are in no specific order. Texas Club. French dip. Ruben. Salads. Meatloaf. Filet or strip Oskar wow! Soups. You go create your own favorites list. Also great curbside take out! A nice local place to go. read more

Maybe I came in on an off day. But everything we ordered was dry and lack of seasoning/flavor, except the Ribeye with Crab smothered. The crispy wonton skin that came with Thai Spicy Shrimp was stale. Tasted days old. Fried chicken on the salad was extremely dry and crouton was also stale. Half baby back rib was also very dry, but it did fell off the bone. And the coleslaw that came the rib was very bland. It needed some seasoning. It tasty like raw soggy cabbage. Although the food did not impressed us, service did! The restaurant was packed but Mason really took care of us. Constantly refilling our water and checked up on stuff. We left over 20% tips because it was well deserved. Hoping for better food experience next time! read more

I'm updating my review, we have gone several times and each time I feel like the quality is not as good. Tonight we went and I had the chicken avocado bacon sandwich on gluten-free bun. The chicken was overcooked and I could not cut into the sandwich with a regular knife. Their broccoli that I chose as a side is always undercooked and somewhat hard. The service was generally fine from our waitress. The bar area is quite loud because it's happy hour so we chose to sit in the dining room, which is quieter. I think we will not be going back to this location. I feel like the Overland Park location has better quality food. read more

I decided to give this establishment another try. Got there shortly before happy hour & got their Blood orange margarita and lemoncello strawberry sangria for $6. Mason was a great server, attentive and efficient. After looking at the menu, decided to get the grandma's chicken with a side salad. Our salads came out shortly before our main course. Love the complex flavor of the sweet Tuscan dressing and the blue cheese crumbles, one of the best salads combinations I've ever had!. Grandma's chicken consisted of two pieces of juicy chicken covered in smoked Gouda sauce, side of fresh green beans and jalapeño cheddar grits. My sides were not as hot as I'd wish but had a really good flavor. The grits needed to have more jalapeño for it to be described as jalapeño cheddar grits. This is a dish that I would definitely come back to get time and time again! read more

Went there for Mother's Day, made a reservation and got right in. They were busy but the staff was attentive and friendly. I offered the full slab of ribs and they were wonderful! So tender and the bbq sauce tasted great! I would definitely come back again. read more

Regarding delivery. I bought silver ware not realizing they would include it. Got the filet and potato- came with just a potato. A whole potato. Sliced open, no butter, no nothing. No option for toppings on doordash. Steak was fine. Kids salmon meal is good, more food than the filet dinner. read more

Server is so friendly and helpful with getting you the best experience from breakfast to afternoon. Great spot to study in

Had a pre-Christmas gathering with my husband & kids, my nephews. It was early day like 1pm. The server was great to chat with, took this nice photo. Only thing is when they brought out plates. Some of us were handed our plates but the rest set on a tray & all the employees fled the scene. So I looked for a minute but then just pretended I worked there and handed off the other plates. My daughter loves Nick & Jake's because they give kids a little plate of grapes & crackers. Some of the meals we had, I had the quesadilla, husband had wings, one nephew had chicken parm, niece-in-law had an awesome fried chicken sandwich. read more

Always love Nick and Jake's. I'm sure I've been to all their locations. You can't go wrong with the firecracker salad. Also, the chocolate cake is the most delicious moist cake you'll ever eat! The bruschetta is top-notch the club sandwich. The list goes on and on. read more

The service was good. We sat on the patio which was nice to be outside, but nothing special about it. Food was just okay.

American fair, with a hint of quality in the design. We waited WAY too long for service and check. That woman would have entire conversations with an older couple, and then treat us like we were a bother. Oh, and the food sucked. Maybe a 1/2 step above Applebee's. read more

Large selection of American fare. The food came out hot and prices were really reasonable for large portions. The kids burger is pretty big. The sides are kinda small, especially the Asparagus but they are also priced at only $4 so order multiple if you're hungry. The Thai crispy shrimp are not Thai flavored they are just covered in a spicy mayo sauce which was still really good but not "Thai" flavored in any way. read more

Spouse and I ate there (Shawnee location) on 07.25.26. It was our first time at this location, PROs: We were greeted with smiles and got a table immediately. About 5 pm. Spouse wanted a different table so as not to be in the line of traffic. person seating us said no problem and we were escorted to a different table. Waitress came over almost immediately and returned promptly with water. This location is very nice. Looks new. There is a gorgeous large patio with a large TV. Too hot today. Waitress took our order and we received it in a timely fashion. CONs: The table was tacky sticky. I don't think it was dirty as it felt sticky all over. We have encountered the same thing at other restaurants. I'm not sure if it is the type of wood or perhaps their cleaner, but was annoying. We both ordered hamburgers, spouse with cheese, mine without. I ordered sautéed spinach as a side. Spouse ordered fries. We both ordered burgers to be medium. The burgers were very dry and much more well-done than medium. My spouse requested mustard when we ordered which he did not get. We flagged down another waitress who brought us mustard. The spinach was very hot (temperature) and extremely bland. Tasted like there was no seasoning on it at all. A bit of salt & pepper really did not help much. Spouse said he thought the fries were very good, but they just tasted like regular fries to me. We ordered the small Chocolate cake with buttercream frosting to share for dessert. It was very large. Plenty to share. It came with a large helping of whipped cream. The cake was also dry. It appeared to have been kept in a cooler (very appropriate for 100 degree day) but I wish it had had time to come to room temperature before serving. The frosting seemed more like fudge than buttercream, but again, that may have been because it had not come to room temperature. The whipped cream helped the dryness of the cake considerably. Even so, we did not eat all of it due to dryness. And it is rare for me to leave any chocolate on a plate. All in all, it was disappointing. Perhaps it would have been a better experience if we had ordered something different, but we do not plan to go back. read more

Easy going place. Part sports bar, part casual dining. They have an outdoor space with a TV for those lovely summer days for brunch. If you get dessert the portions come in small or large. I get large and take half home. I'm a fan of the Chocolate cake while my spouse likes the Carrot cake. Can get busy at times but generally we're able to walk in. read more

The Reuben is very disappointing. Sauce only on half of it. The meat was dry. Not recommended. Service was very good. The Asian Salad is good. The Key Lime pie is wonderful. Pleasant atmosphere. read more

In town for a softball tournament decided to try out Nick and Jake's What an amazing place food was great Our waitress Sheila was amazing. Great place to watch the game! Not a huge space but nice atmosphere and *plenty* of TVs if you're looking for that. We both liked the food. I really enjoyed the jalapeño cheddar grits. This place seems to put more effort into theirs than many places do. The chicken quesadilla is good as well. Nothing special about the chicken itself but the red onion marmalade has a nice flavor and I think the flavor of the salsa was my favorite part. Good drink specials/selection and friendly service, this may be our new go-to sports bar. read more

Our ladies group had Birthday lunch there this month. Service was great and the food was delicious! Would recommend.

Aron was the most attentive bartender. There on a Sunday, full bar, always taken care of. Food was delicious.

Great food, large portions never had a bad meal here good service by the interior in the dark wood nice sophisticated

Great food and drinks . The bartenders are amazing, after just a few visits they call you by name and very responsive to make sure everything is good. Highly recommended read more

Good food well prepared, served well, just overall yummy! Needs more parking near the entry

Such a lovely evening here. The patio is perfect for a chilly autumn night- there are several heat lamps and the staff encouraged us to move tables and chairs around so we'd be super comfortable and feel the heat. Every single person working here that we came in contact with was super nice. We loved our salmon BLT's. The melted Swiss cheese on them was an extra delicious touch. Tip- get the chipotle mayo on the side because it's thick and rich. And be prepared to wait for a table because it was busy on a Thursday at 6:00. I wish they had a better waiting area. We were all kind of piled together awkwardly in the entryway. read more

We just had lunch at Nick & Jake's. Sat on the bar side and our server was Aaron. Texas Club and Chicken tenders were ordered. The Club was very good and had a good amount of meat on the sandwich. Chicken tenders were fantastic. Whole beasts cut into pieces, not just chopped up pieces of chicken glued together with whatever, these were big pieces, golden fried and excellent honey mustard. The only thing that could have been better was if it were free. We will definitely be back. Thanks Aaron for great service. read more

Another good visit. As always the service is terrific at the bar. The food is well prepared and quite tasty. The only issue with this visit and a previous visit was that the bar did not have Wild Turkey 101 available. I had a great experience at Nick and Jake's. I was with a group of 5 and we were quickly seated (this was during regular lunch time on a weekday). Our server was very quick and gave great recommendations on what we're his favorites on the menu. My group shared an order of the Irish nachos. I can only describe these as mini loaded baked potatoes. These were extremely good and I will probably get them any time I go to Nick and Jake's. I got the poke tacos, which were a lunch special. I didn't love the 'taco shell' and would have preferred a regular tortilla but the poke part was very good. I also got a slice of cheesecake. The dice was huge and I would probably share with someone next time. It was extremely good and not too sweet. read more

Had lunch for restaurant week. Atmosphere is family friendly and tables are spaced for room. Course 1: Steak soup, Course 2: 6oz grilled atlantic salmon, Course 3: Carrot cake - The soup was meaty and not salty at all. The salmon was cooked to perfection and of course, how can anything go wrong with carrot cake. Course 1: Caesar salad, Course 2: Pastrami sandwich, Course 3: Carrot cake - The salad was fresh and ample. The sandwich was cooked the way it should be and the bread was fresh. Great meals for the $20 apiece lunch read more

Popped in for lunch on New Tears Eve and had a great time! We sat in the bar area so that we could watch the football games and the tv setup did not disappoint! As it got closer to the Chiefs game the bar was filled with fans and the atmosphere was was fun and inviting. I ordered the shrimp Caesar salad with a side of sweet potato fries. They were both tasty!! I would recommend asking for a side of their sweet chili aioli to dip your fries in! The salad was HUGE so I could not finish it, I would suggest splitting it between two people. I also ordered the small chocolate cake and I took one bite and couldn't stop. I will be thinking of that cake for weeks to come! Our bartender was super sweet and she consistently checked on us. If you're looking to stop in somewhere for lunch I would recommend here. read more

We come to Nick & Jakes at least 1x a week. Salads are good but the dressings are fantastic. They have several rotating soups and the crab bisque is great. The bar side is our favorite to sit. A good amount of TV's, cold beer and a few good appetizers. The service is almost always great and staff is friendly. This is the only place I will eat at in Western Shawnee/Lenexa area. We need more establishments like this one. read more

Pleasantly surprised with this location! Nick and Jake's is basically a step up from traditional bar food. It's nothing fancy by any means, but it is good. Not great, but good. I don't feel like you come here to have a foodie experience. Our service is always pretty good. The shrimp Mac and cheese is actually really creamy and has nice flavor, with a good amount of shrimp. Crab cakes are really good, especially paired with the corn and sauce. Bruschetta is very sweet, but good. Great portions. The chicken tenders were soggy, but that's my only complaint. Everything else made up for it. Cocktails are great. Ambience of this location seems to be a bit more catered to families. They do have a separate bar area. read more

Love Nick & Jake's food and drinks. Their Happy Hour is very good too! Service and atmospheric are very good also.

We had a great meal at this location. They have a nice dining room with bright lighting from their plentiful windows. Our server was very attentive, although that did taper off toward the end of the meal, but I know it got busier around that time too. I had the Redfish Etouffe, Mom had Salmon Gyro (both were specials). I liked the Etouffe (it was crawfish with the Blackened Redfish placed on top) and I liked the Redfish. I felt the two together kind of canceled one another out. So I ate them separately, that's fine. It comes with a piece of toast that was maybe the best piece of bread I've ever eaten. I can't even describe it and also can't stop thinking about it. It also came with rice that was fine and fried okra that was also fine, but definitely nothing special. The whole crawfish they placed on top for garnish was overcooked and inedible. Mom enjoyed her gyro; however it did seem a small portion size. It worked for her, but for some it would have seemed too small to be filling. Overall, we enjoyed our visit. We haven't been to a Nick and Jake's for several years and need to remember to keep them in our rotation. read more
