I've been staying across the street at a hotel and this place is convenient to get a quick bite to eat. I've been here twice and it has a good atmosphere and the people are nice. I've had the buffalo chicken dip and pepper jack cheese bites as appetizers and would get both again. The buffalo chicken wrap was good and the side salad with ranch dressing was delicious. We came in with a large group, there were more than 10 of us. The team happily seated us and took great care of us all night long. They had drinks out quick and had our food order in fast. We went to Johnny's have they had a perfect pizza special. We got an 18-in thin crust pie. The outer crust was thick and baked to perfection, But the rest of it was just a sloppy soggy mess and you literally had to roll the pizza up into a burrito form to eat it. Since it was a pretty significant discount we didn't feel comfortable sending it back, but we'll definitely never go back to this location. Been a fan of Johnny's since my college days! In the restaurant it's always good food and service. BUT, ordering food for delivery is just consistently poor. Food is overcooked, food is missing that was ordered, or food is dry/tough. This happens EVERY time. We've learned our lesson! AND, it's not because the delivery service is slow...they aren't! Last night, ordered delivery. 1) Burger was beyond well-done (and the Johnnys website provides no way to specify meat temperature for your meat); 2) fish and chips came with no fries (how does that happen???): 3) Mac and Cheese with an added protein (grilled chicken) was tough and clearly old/sitting for a while!). Not one of the meals was cooked right or tasted good. We threw away the meals! We won't order through delivery again. Buyer beware! read more

A decent sports bar that's a chill place to relax and watch a game. They have lots of TVs all over the place and the tables are set up pretty well for viewing. The hosts were kind, and the waitress was nice and attentive. Unfortunately, the food falls a bit flat. I got the Wilson's wings with fries and they weren't bad, but they are a bit expensive for six wings and fries. The barbecue chicken pizza was pretty dry and did not have a whole lot of flavor or texture. The other meals seemed about on par with these ones. Food is ok, specials are ok, price is not bad, place is very clean and the patio is spacious and nice. Would be a good spot to go with a group. Where I would rate this place less than ok was our waitress. Specifically this dyed red hair young lady. She exhibits an unpleasant attitude, never refilled our drinks, just walked by and gave a thumbs up. Back when I waited tables you made sure your patrons were engaged with and kept their drinks refilled. When we had her as a host, you walked in and we always had to engage with the staff first, rarely ever greeted. As I observed the other patrons coming in it appeared to me they had the same type of experience and expectations that I did. I normally don't point out things like this but this has been a consistent experience. If I were the manager/operator/owner I would most definitely look at appointing someone as a host who is welcoming, thanks you for being a patron and visiting their business. read more

I've been coming here off and on for more than 13 years, first because it was close to my office at the time, and later as a local resident. The service and food has always been absolutely solid with great specials, especially the Chef's Tuesday Mexican special which always draws a crowd. Pizza is New York style and really great, burgers are always terrific. The chef's special on Friday is usually a home-run too. Went here on a Saturday night we were seated quickly and I'd say the place was decently busy but not completely packed. We sat for 15-20 minutes without being waited on. Meanwhile it was slow enough for the staff to be bussing tables and cleaning. Waiters/waitresses walked past us multiple times and we even saw a waitress sitting on her phone. In hindsight we could've probably flagged down a hostess or waitress to get service but it's not my job to do that so we left and went to another bar & grill. I had 4 days and 3 nights in Olathe, and my hotel was easy walking distance to Johnny's. I ate here the first night and loved it so much I ate here again tonight. I have a gluten allergy and they have an extensive gluten-sensitive menu. I had pepperoni pizza the first visit and it was very good. Tonight I had the French dip on a GF bun with fries and it was the best French dip sandwich I've ever had. I also had the GF brownie with ice cream and hot fudge and caramel sauce. It was a bit overdone but still very good and I would try it again if I'm ever back in the area. The service here was excellent. I honestly can't say enough wonderful things about the staff. The two servers I had were so sweet and friendly. Made this southern Alabama girl feel like a local! The atmosphere is full of energy and while it is a sports bar it is still very family-friendly. Love their Tank 7 burger. Unfortunately this last time there was little Tank7 cheese on the burgers. I hope it isn't something they plan to keep doing. Their pretzel appetizers are delicious. The first night I was there, I sat at the bar and was recommended to try the flaming wings which are double dipped/fried with a dry spice. I ordered them along with habenero sauce on the side. The wings alone weren't too spicy, but were very moist and tasty. With the habenero sauce, they were awesome!! It made the Boulevard Nutcracker Ales go down very easily. The next night, I was there with colleagues and ordered the nachos, fried mozzarella, and pepperjack bites at the half price appetizer rate. For my main dish, I ordered the shrimp teriyaki. It's Johnny's Tavern. What's not to love about this place? They always have a nice selection of good beer and liquor. And their menu is not a tiny bar menu, but also not overwhelming. Every time I have been here the service has been very good. The establishment is nice and clean and welcoming. There is outside seating and they have some video games. The space in the bar area is nice. A big bar with lots of seating at the counter and lots of high top tables if you don't want to sit directly at the bar. I mean, it's Johnny's!!! read more
