Well...the food wasn't bad! We made a reservation for a party of 7 and got there on time (6), but weren't asked to order until 7:30 and food arrived by 8. The waitress was nice it's just she was quiet and wouldn't wait for a response before walking off. The food itself was good. The chicken bacon wrap was nicely filled with crispy lettuce, chicken, and crunchy bacon. The waffle fries were really good, a nice crust and seasoning to it. Also tried the prime rib and Avacado sandwich, when I tell you that thing was all prime rib, which is a good thing, but I do wish there was a little more Avacado and cheese and it really was a mouthful of meat and bread. I liked that it came on Texas toast and I think a great offer would be garlic bread toast. The fries were the nice crispy kind with a good fry seasoning on them. Wasn't a big fan of the jelly for my sandwich but it was on the side. Drinks came quickly and food was good, it was just a long wait for what I'd consider not that big of a table. Decided to visit Brewbakers because I wanted a good lunch and a solid drink on this Saturday afternoon. I saw they had $4 vodka Red Bulls, and that solidified my want to come here even more. I didn't order an appetizer because I wanted to get straight to the food. I went with the Fried Clucker and a side of waffle fries. This sandwich was unbelievable huge..smothered in their house sauce, which tasted like a milder version of buffalo sauce. I thought the flavor was good, but the fried skin was falling off the chicken. Every time I cut a piece, the breading would just slide right off. Maybe they need to brine the chicken better to help it stick more but it was no biggie, it still had a good flavor. My boyfriend ordered the chicken-fried chicken, and honestly... nothing too special about it. The mashed potatoes that came with it were flavorless at first, but once we added salt and pepper, they were tasty. Now, I get that this is a bar and grill, so I'm not trying to be overly critical or nit-picky but in that category, Brewbakers definitely ranks on the higher end. This is hands down the best bar and grill I've tried when it comes to food. They even serve Jambalaya here.. what kind of bar and grill do you ever see serving this?? Would I come back? Of course! We came in and got a table out in the patio. It was nice to soak up some sun after a long winter. The got some drinks and appetizers. The pretzels were soft and warm, and the cheese dip was tasty. Stopped in for a beer the other night. From the outside this doesn't look like a very big bar, don't be fooled this is a very large space. With a small room off the back with a pool table, a large meeting room and a tons of seating and TV's everywhere. Staff was friendly and checked on us frequently. I will definitely have to ad this location to my lists of where to go to watch a game. read more

Not a bad place, loud and booths are worn but tables are spaced well and the restaurant is clean. Our server was good, attentive and made sure we had what we needed. As for the food, we got the smothered waffle fries to share- which were delicious. I got the Brewburger, the beer cheese was horrible. I had to scrape it all off and I still could barely eat it, thankfully the fries were good. Visited here for Restaurant Week lunch most recently and had a fantastic experience overall. I have been here a few other times and have never had a bad meal or drink either. We ordered off the Restaurant Week menu: two orders of Carlsbad Soup, the Creamy Spinach Artichoke Chicken Cavatappi Pasta & the 6oz Salmon, and two orders of the Chocolate Covered Strawberries. The Carlsbad Soup is seriously one of the best soups I've had. The spice level is perfect and the soup is just top tier. I would have had multiple bowls if able. The pasta was a huge serving and had a great spinach artichoke flavor but could have used some other salty seasoning to really make it stand out. The salmon and rice were a great combo with the savory/sweet mix really working. The strawberries were decent if not lackluster. The strawberries are obviously not in season with the chocolate being the star - I do feel they could have provided a better dessert option but overall, not bad and light! Our server was a younger gentleman and he did a terrific job. He was extremely attentive, friendly, and we had no complaints at all! Overall, this was not high on my list for a Restaurant Week stop, but I am glad we came here. read more

My friends and I have been coming here since they opened for tenderloins, and has always been our fave place for pork sandwich. However, last sat afternoon the crew met met me there and what we got after ordering our usual fare was horrible....The pork loin was cardboard thin and tasted as such.. Usually the meat is white and thick with a flavorful breading and very ample in portion.. This time it was small , flat and tastless.... I emailed the website for the Renner store to tell them how $13 for such a bland presentation was not going to fly and asked for assurance that that they had not changed their receipe but almost two weeks later still no word.. Came to brew bakers this week to watch some football and drink a little as Eagles won another game. This place is what you would expect and has no surprises to have me wanting to specifically come back. Cheap beer, good service and mediocre food is the name of the game here. I ordered the chicken tenders with waffles fries combo. The food came out a tad to quick, maybe like five minutes and that made me suspicious that the tenders were prob par frozen or already fried. They tasted fine with inconsistency in the thickness so it messed up the temp inside the chicken. The fries were soft and somewhat warm, which was fine. Overall, I think I said enough. Good service and easy to grab beers made this spot decent. I would not plan to come back but get totally why people go. I think 3 out of 5 is fitting for this spot read more

I really enjoy this place, and it never lets me down. Maybe the food isn't going to be getting Michelin stars anytime soon, but it is good and the overall experience is definitely worth five stars. Add in a very nice patio, facing the western sun for all of you sunset watchers, and lots and lots of TVs, and you have a winner of a local pub. I've probably been to Brewbaker's a dozen times without checking in, so I figured it's time to give them their due. They have great specials, friendly staff, and with COVID in place, they are taking all of the necessary precautions. Every day there is a special, including Tuesdays, which is burger day! Burger day means that almost all of their specialty burgers are $6.99 that day. On this occasion I opted for some wings, and the maple bacon bourbon wings were exceptionally tasty. They are sweet, with a hint of spice, but the wings were done just right and sauced just like I like them. The boy selected the breakfast burger, which is a burger with a fried egg on it while my daughter went for a classic brewery burger, and neither left any evidence left behind. Add in that it was in the 70s, we sat on the patio, and the evening was just perfect. Brewbaker's is also my wife's favorite place for fried pickles, and she is a bit of a fried pickle aficionado. They are sliced lengthwise (think Vlasic 'stackers') battered in Boulevard beer batter and fried to perfection. Of all things to make a Yelp list, a 'Kansas City's Best Fried Pickles' would definitely have Brewbaker's on it. Parking is plentiful, prices are very fair, the beer and wine lists are both reasonable and robust, and Brewbaker's is also one of the friendliest family places in the western Johnson County area. A kids menu has half a dozen options and the staff and regular crowd are kid-friendly. All of that adds up for all five of my stars. read more

We're fans! With everything that's going on around, supporting local has been our top priority and I'm so glad to have ordered carry out from here many times in the last few months. It's a 5 minute walk from where we live and so it's extremely convenient for us. We order on the phone and pay at the bar. The food is amazing. Their truffle fries are delicious but their tater tots are out of the world. Surprisingly, their fish and chips is the best I've ever had after a famous restaurant in Seattle. We order only carry out from them so I really can't comment on the dine-in but the restaurant has a very cool vibe. Their chicken quesadilla is amazing but we are absolutely in love with their fire chicken sandwiches. That fire sauce is lip smacking! We went to Brewbakers to try something new with high hopes. We were quickly disappointed when we got our drinks. I ordered a dirty martini with Tito's and got a sweet martini that was terrible. I asked the server if they had dry vermouth instead of sweet and she said she didn't know what I was talking about and they had one ready-made pour for martinis and that was the only option. She said she would take the drink off the ticket for us but didn't. I didn't even drink half the drink because it was so rough. My fiancé ordered a Disco Monkey and it was not good either. It said it had banana liqueur in it, but there wasn't even a hint of it. The majority of the food was okay, but not good. The jalapeño poppers and fries were the only thing we actually liked. read more

Events of the day brought us out to the area so we wanted to check out somewhere nearby. This place seems like it's kind of away from a lot, but it was definitely a nice option for food. They had several things on the menu that I wanted to try, but we ended up going with a pretzel appetizer and we each got an order of wings. I wish the wings had come with either carrots or celery as a break, because the buffalo sauce was spicy, but overall it was very good. I go to Brewbakers occasionally. Mostly on a Saturday evening. It is almost always jam packed. So much so that I have walked back out. My recent visit was the Saturday before the 4th, so it was the opposite, almost empty. Bartender service was good enough, with low pressure. I have tried a lot of the menu, and now mostly get the Jambalaya. It is pretty good for a non Cajun place. Kansas beer is on special and a great bargain. read more

There aren't enough sports bars to cover the planet, in my opinion. I'm so happy YELP lead me in Brewbakers direction during March Madness as a new KC local. Lots of fun local KU, Royals, Chiefs & all local team fans in this joint. TONS of TVs and a nice little patio out back with its own bar and TVs. It can get a bit crowded for good games and the locals hold their posts so get there early. Good drink specials & lots of different beers on tap. Typical bar food but we did splurge on the meatloaf last visit. Fried foods, can't screw those up. Staff appears to love their jobs and the locals appear to love their sports bar! read more

We went to Brewbakers to watch a baseball game and have dinner. Turns out all chicken sandwiches are $6.99 on Wednesday's. Comes with a side. Excellent deal. The chicken was deliciously hand breaded and big! The bun was perfect. I would get it again, over and over. Some observations: 1. The TVs above the bar are at an odd angle so, when seated at the bar, you have to crane your neck. Choose a night top table instead if you're watching something. 2.
