I've been to Wally's a multitude of times, and every single visit has been amazing. The food is consistently delicious, service is always friendly and accommodating, and everything comes out incredibly fast. Most of my orders have been curbside pickup since it's right around the corner from my house, and the process has always been quick and seamless. Let me tell you about the Great Salmon Caper Sandwich. A soft, pillowy brioche bun, flaky grilled salmon, fresh lettuce, tomato, and onion, topped with a creamy, tangy aioli. It is quite literally one of the best salmon sandwiches I've ever had. When I say I'll never get sick of this sandwich, I mean it. It's a genuine 10/10 and one of the main reasons I keep coming back. The Cluckers are also excellent and come with an absurd amount of food. My only complaint is that the chicken pieces can sometimes be so large that the chicken-to-breading ratio feels a little off. Other than that, they're fantastic. The breading is seasoned perfectly, the chicken is juicy, and the price is extremely affordable for the portion size. The homemade honey mustard is also some of the best I've ever had and is easily my favorite dipping sauce on the menu. Wally's is one of those places that never disappoints. It was good, however I think the wrap was missing the avocado ranch dressing so once I asked for that on the side, it really made it. Very crowded during March Madness but customer service was not good. Our food took forever. There were no apologies from the staff. Food was sports bar food. Got blackened chicken on a Caesar salad. We came here after a date with tye infrared sauna. A little our of our way but we like trying new places. We made a reservation (you must call to do that). When we got there, parking was kind of far in the plaza. We were worried it was over busy. When we got in, we told them our reservation and we're seated immediately. It was busy but not as busy as it looked from outside. We found out, there was a private party which accounted for all of the cars. Once seated, our waitstaff came right over. Very nice lady. She took our drink orders. We ordered appetizers as we usual do. We had the Crab Ragoon Fritters and the wings. Both were pretty good. For our meals, I had Chicken Fried Steak and hubs had Steak and Fries. The food was ok. Hubs's steak was under cooked on one side. He said it was good though and had good flavor. I had heard about this place once when visiting Love coffee nearby, and a lady had mentioned that she had the best chicken noodle soup here. It didn't seem possible to me because from my vantage point, at the coffee shop, this place looked like a bar, and I thought anyone with a few drinks in them thinks bar food is spectacular. I was very mistaken. This place is more like a well-hidden gem in Lee's Summit. A must visit pub if you so happen to drive through this town, on your way elsewhere, and are looking through Yelp for a place to fill your tummy rather than resort to the golden arches, befriend your own physical tank here. We decided to visit this place since we were in the mood for a light bite to eat and a new place to try. Our waitress was very nice and made us feel welcome but not in an overbearing way, like at some places where it feels like they are trying to be. My husband ordered the Cowboy Nachos and really enjoyed it. I ordered the Chicken Quesadillas and loved them. We shared both, and I was impressed with the flavors, and again I wasn't very hungry so that should say something. First time visiting! After seeing reviews on yelp and pricing of the food, I expected nothing short of spectacular. Service was attentive. We ordered the duo chip dip, shrimp tacos, and a patty melt. The chips came out stale and the server got us fresh ones and was thoughtful enough to take the item off our bill. We found Wally's in Lee's Summit on Yelp only a couple of miles from Belton's Markey Park, where we were playing a couple of times. We were hoping to find a place sitting on the water but out of the heat & humidity. What we found was a casual but classy setting on the edge of town where we got good food, refreshed and cooled off between games. We did a real late lunch with friends. Hadn't been here for a long time. My wife liked her salad with chicken and our friend recommended the clucker chicken... Nice serving sizes. I switched from fries to fried brussel sprouts and that was a great choice. The burger I got was perfectly prepared. This is a popular place but it's roomier inside than you think. And the Winner Is ... Since we have spent the week trying out nearby restaurants that we had overlooked, we happened upon Wally's Grill & Drafthouse. Located in an unpretentious strip mall off of SW Lemans Ln, and MO 150, in Lee's Summit, from the pretty full shared parking it appears to be a much smaller place than it is. Coming through the front door it is easy to see that it is really much larger than it appears! There is a large area for their full bar, one room of booths, and another for tables. You can also sit on their patio for fresh unmasked air. The decor is honest neighborhood bar and grill, where you get the feeling that this is an honest neighborhood bar and grill, with smiles all around on the faces of families and couples everywhere. The menu covers just about whatever tickles your fancy that night: appetizers, salads, wraps, sandwiches, full meals, sides, and deserts are all available with detailed inviting descriptions. Their "signature" offerings are marked with a stylized "W" so you do not miss the things that they are most proud of. Not wanting to commit to their serious main courses, we opted for sandwiches. Now who could resist "Firecracker Chicken" sandwich! After one bite I heard from the other side of the table, "We have a winner for the week!" Then seeing the "W" next to "The Big Dipper" I just knew this was not going to be your standard French Dip sandwich, and I was not wrong. I usually go for house made chips when they are offered, but I noticed that their fries were not just fries, but "Wally's Famous Fries." So I ask our server why they were "famous" and she said, "They are addictive!" And they were. The service was fast, friendly, and attentive. Our server's knowledge of the menu and specials was equaled with her knowledge to the restaurant's local ownership and history. That added to the charm of the place. Prices were well within the norm for similar area restaurants, and the quality and taste of everything we had was outstanding! Recommendation: I know that I want to try their Sirloin Steak and Paula really wants to try their Roast Chicken. The food was good, service friendly and clear, and the room we were in was ok. I'm guessing that part of the restaurant was an extension because most of the restaurant looked really nice. The part that we were in was less decorated and more plain looking. We got burgers and chicken strips. I liked the size of the burger, but I would've wanted a thicker slice of tomato and whole leaf lettuce, instead of lettuce strips. The smaller veggies didn't seem to match the size of the burger. But each restaurant has their own way of doing it. The chicken strips seemed made from scratch. The person who ordered it really liked it. Me - not so much.
